It inspired me to push myself, be friendly and kind, to never give up, and overtime even helped me to better be intune with my own energy. The loss of Akira Toriyama is a big deal. During this time, I find myself wondering and hoping he was not tied into all this Epstine Island related mess (there was more than 1 island - if you know, you know). Akira Toriyama was such a legend, he didn't need the dragon balls to achieve immortality!
He did it through his work.
Rest in peace, Toriyama-sensei! Thank you for everything!

I started rewatching the series for the first tume since at least the 90's literally the day before he passed.
Can't believe it took me so long, the show is still incredible and holds up better than most.
Really sad to see Akira go.

Thank you for your passion. This video put me to tears.
In france we had the chance to import japanese anime in the aerly 80's. I was 5 in 1990, when Dragon ball aired for the first time on TF1, one of the most watched tv channel of that time.
Millions of young french boys became instantly hooked to Dragon ball and Dragon ball Z soon after, as well as many others mangas as it was all the rage to intertain kids back then.
Things haven't changed all that much today, France is the biggest manga consumer after Japan, and Dragon ball made it happen.
I can fairly say that Toriyama was like a father to many of us, as his stories impacted us growing up like nothing else.
Goodbye Toriyama Sensei, the magic of the Dragon Balls will shine in our heart for all eternity.

JRR Tolkien(Lord of the Rings), Andrzej Sapkowski(Witcher), Stan Lee(Marvel), George Lucas(Star Wars), Kenturo Miura(Berserk) and now Akira Toriyama(Dragon Ball). All revolutionary minds of fiction and of the greatest entertainment minds of all time.
I bow in respect to Akira Toriyama for being one of the forerunners in bringing manga/anime to the western world and being a kid of the 90s you know that Dragon Ball has influenced the world in such a way that only a few creatives/artists could even achieve and Toriyama created art and his legacy will never be forgotten and now he is at peace.

Nightmares never last. One day you wake up and they're gone. Too much fantasy loses reality, too much hope may seem somehow empty. Move well, study well, play well, eat well, rest well - That is the Turtle Master way!

The transition at 2:19 ... a reminder that the art in its purest form is a reflection of the creator's soul. This is why we stand against censorship, either by studios or by DEI consultants.

I have been watching Dragon Ball since the early '90s.
It was the reason I got into martial arts, and in a weird way, it helped get me through my time in Afghanistan.
There were a few times over there, where I was scared and some when I wanted to quit.
During those times, I would think back to Vegeta setting himself on fire in the hyperbolic time chamber, or Goku refusing to quit and fighting for his family. Those kinds of things gave me motivation to keep fighting, as they (Goku/Vegeta,) would never quit due to fear!!
I hope Akira knew how impactful he and his characters were to SO MANY of us!!
RIP Akira, you ABSOLUTE F*CKING LEGEND!!
