I'd like to believe he'd want to stay behind like Goku at the end of the Cell saga, hoping others would carry on his legacy. (I know he comes back in the Buu saga, but I feel like that would be more of a touching sendoff).
If you pass from natural causes, they don't work, and as previously stated, if he passed away, they don't work. All the same, may he rest in peace. He did what he loved, and I hope that he knows that he was surrounded by everyone that loved him and his work. Thank you Akira Toriyama for giving us the chance to teach our kids and future generations never to settle for less, and always climb to be better than the day before.
this is sad news all around. I am curious if their is anything as far as media interests you have, with so many legends passing away and now losing Akira Toriyama as well?
Met Toriyama-san in 2004 in Germany. There was a lottery for 200 people to meet and get a signed sketch. Wouldn't be an illustrator without him! The year of the Dragon for real. RIP
The world mourns for the great loss. As Korean, I grew up reading Dragon Ball Manga. I think I've read at least 2 dozen times all volumes back to back. World is united on this day.
I'm an Indian and I've watched Dragonball episodes numerous times. I felt the same amount of joy watching each episode as much as I did watching it for the very first time. This is a wound that cannot be healed.
You’re not alone. We will always have his awesome works to remember him by. Let’s all watch some Dragon Ball and play some Dragon Quest and Chrono Trigger in his honor.
This, 100 times this. The stories brought to me as a kid made me the man I am today. The world got a little dimmer with a legend gone. R.I.P Toriyama-Sama.
I have to admit I haven't seen much of the anime. (Not a lot of free time in younger days.) I did get to read the first two volumes of Dragon Ball -- my soul smiled the whole time I read about young un Son Goku, Bulma, SUPER-perv Master Roshi, and so much more awesomeness. Turtle: "You see, I'm a turtle." Bulma: "And what am I, BLIND!?!" Rest in peace, Akira! 🙏

I remember the first time I saw dragon ball. It was in my taekwondo class since they always had the tv on while we waited for the next session. I like so many kids was instantly hooked, and the Master himself came over and sat down to watch the episode with us. As a kid, it blew my mind to see an adult watch cartoons.
