Saint Paul is his name soul is his game he put his own spin on it. He has a action packed show never a dull moment.📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀
Just saw these cats here in Portland Oregon and was the best show I have seen!!! He interacted with the crowd, worked the crowd ,sang to the crowd. He started in his church at the age of 4. One note from him and I was hooked!!! Keep on keeping on #Stpaulandthebrokenbones
i live in Eugene and only discovered him after he was in Portland. a bartender friend of mine went to that show and she turned me on to him. would of loved to seen him man, cheers.
Paul Janeway is a gifted singer just like the Aretha's and Chris Cornell's of this world. He sings straight from his soul and it's a beautiful thing to see and hear especially in a world filled with auto-tune. What an amazing band!
Everytime I'm hearing him singing, I get goosebumps. Just learned about him today, after years of listening old soul.. and this is just the most respectable remake of any Otis remake that has ever been done.
Another great cover of a Sam Cook Classic.....St.Paul and the Broken Bones!!....the lead singer sings his heart out...really connects emotionally to the classic!!
hands down one of my favorite groups ever. they bring out emotion ever song they do. every song makes the hair stand up and you can just feel the emotion on every note. this is the definition of music.this coming from a metal head but got a sweet love for the soul. any other groups I should check out
I listened to these guys on n.p.r. one night .radio did not do them justice.the man has some moves. He puts on a killer show.👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻
I got to see them at the Master Musician's Festival in Somerset, KY. It was wonderful. The crowd ate out of his hand...glorious. The Counting Crows followed and they were great too. YAY!! Love this band's work!
And while you're on the subject, go find a picture of the Stax Volt band. Two-tone all the way. Lou Marini, Duck Dunne, etc. Over 200 classics in 11 years, including most of Otis Redding.
I had the pleasure of seeing Paul and the group in Las Vegas a couple years ago, and was an instant fan. This song is perfectly suited to his voice. Or rather his voice is perfectly suited to this song. This must be before they added the B3. Great performance! If you haven't seen his live show, you really should.
Saw this band three times this past weekend (Bristol Rhythm and Roots...look it up and come) and they absolutely blew the roof off this festival. For the talent that was at this festival, this band was the one that everybody was buzzing about and by this afternoon (show 3 of 3) there was a a massive audience and they just murdered it and left everybody speechless. I can not wait to see them again down the road because they are absolutely fantastic!
I love is listening to the crowd as the reaction changes There's chattering in the back and a few "hoots!." Until 3:26. Then it's the band and the crowd.
I just saw them 25th sun sold out show at Vinyl Music downtown Pensacola ..they rocked the house..they claim Pensacola they got the best reception of all their shows also saw them at the Hangout in Gulf Shores prior ..good friend turned me on to them... he is from the same neighbor they originated in Birmingham .Guest group was a band called Humming House from Ten ..they were excellent great girl singer kinda Folky Country Soul..
Sorry, maybe I was too harsh. Let me say this, you went over like dynamite. They absolutely loved you! That was the biggest reception I’ve ever seen at Callahan’s. My question is this: you’ve got five guys who could take a ride and really give the group some variety, why doesn’t anybody solo? Looks like the horn players are college kids. But then I know how hard it is to find good horn players. You need a Grover Washington or David Sanborn sax.
They came to Mobile and got a $12 cover. I hung around outside with my dog and listened to three songs. This is what I call a horn band with no horns. The keys, bass, guitar and the horns are just playing the changes, and the drums play the back beat. If you want to hear good blues with real horns, youtube: tuba skinny.
@lutemann, sounds to me you got alot of advice mixed with too much with your opinion, its their band and your're not their manager, let them do their thing and go ride the nuts of tuba skinny, i do not recall hearing of tuba skinny or seeing them at SXSW 2013, which St. Paul and Broken Bones were and had plenty of people stopping outside the venue listening
Too bad so many jackasses are talking...they should be be listening to this brilliance.!
Idiots always ruin a live performance when they don't shut the heck up and listen to the 🎶
You said it!!
This group is the bomb. Blue eyed Alabama Soul Brothers. There's no school like the old school.
Virtis Lanier Yessss, I know that's right!!
duran duran
Please come to Toronto!!! Every St. Paul and the Broken Bones performance is amazing.

Gone, and gone. Both died in Detroit. Coincidence?
Paul better watch his ass in the Motor City.

DAmn, they are just amazing, you dudes could stand toe to toe with otis, I think he'd be proud to know that people pass on his legacy. great job
I know that is is a sam cook song. but it is more about the delivery and rendition than about the origins in that comment.

trombone drinking magic hat number 9
talk to the music, i mean!
Oh, one more thing, if you don't have some soloing on every tune, the singer is going to lose his voice and that would be a shame.
Don't sing this fucking song.
One word ~ AWESOME
awesome!
