My idea as well, timber with aluminium is best of both world. I missed the big downsides of PVC. It is PVC, a toxic plastic, and it is ugly as heck, it turns your house into trailer trash look instantly. I also missed info on hinges. PVC usually has exterior hinges, huge and obnoxious, wood has small unobtrusive hinges, and aluminium often has invisible hinges, but cheaper brands have the same humoungous hinges as used for PVC. The invisible hinges of aluminium can be a pain in the butt if things stall. An aluminium tumble window that does not open is non servicable by the client.
Not sure were you got your information about PVC being toxic? It has the same chemicals as the dentures. If dentures are allowed in mouths 24/7. This means you can lick the windows all day, and you will not have any adverse issues, other than a sore tongue.
The other comments left here are just personal preferences, and we can accommodate different looks, locks, handles and hinges to suit ones taste. (notice the pun to the previous comment, I thought you might)
@@OknaluxSaintMarys i’ve heard that upvc windows can warp and change its shape due to heat exposure from sun.
