Were President Saied's Actions REALLY A Coup? What's Happening In Tunisia, Simplified| Debate

After centuries of colonialism and dictatorship, in 2011, Tunisians were finally able to welcome democracy into their nation after a revolution that shook the entire Arab world.
Yet despite being celebrated for being the Arab Springs only democratic success, Tunisia is currently facing its biggest political crisis since that fateful revolution, after President Saied suspended Parliament, removed the Prime Minister and countless others from their positions, and stripped Parliament members of their criminal immunity, in an act he claims will “save the nation”.
And yet, whilst many Tunisians have taken to the streets to celebrate the removal of a parliament they believed was ineffective, others have warned that Saied’s actions are all a part of an international agenda that aims to drive Tunisia away from democracy, and back into its dictatorial days.
Let’s take a look at a couple of arguments from both sides of this dispute, in the form of a little debate.
