      Any chance you have a video showing the same taping methods but for medial tracking instead of lateral? My knee cap wants to turn inwards and its been very difficult to find proper taping technique videos.

      My patella tracks inward too, and is so bad I'm afraid to move it.
      I'm going to just tape it opposite of what you showed us.
      Thanks so much!

    Thank you so much! I knew I had patellofemoral pain from an MRI but was suffering so much with stairs and felt the rehab was taking its sweet old time lol. This removed the pain immediately, gave me more confidence and less anxiety and will help me speed up my rehab journey. Thanks again, much appreciated!

    Absolutely amazing! I had been using the K-tape and it really wasn't offering the support I needed. I tried the first method you suggested with the rigid tape and I noticed immediate results and relief. I'm in a current rehab program and the tape is helping me in my daily life activities in between rehab. Thanks for the clear explanation of the taping technique. Very much appreciated!

    Tried the first method with improvisation. Used 2x4 fabric patch adhesive bandages as the fixumol. Then durapore as the other adhesive. Immediately felt relief in just walking. Great video, thank you!

    Both my knees track laterally, one more than the other. I did the rigid tape on the more severe and the kinesio tape on the lesser knee. Instant relief!! Thank you so much. I have taped my knee several times and this is the best.

      The rigid taping allowed me to go up and down my stairs without pain and the kinesiology tape allowed me to continue exercising. I lost about 40lbs since this and no longer use the tape. Occasionally I feel like I could benefit from it again but then the pain subsides with a little rest. My knees are so bad that they would need to break my legs to correct it and I just don’t want that right now. I continue to exercise moderately and lose weight to help alleviate the pressure. I am not an athlete, just a mom looking to move better 😊

    Seems to be providing a little relief for me. Another HUGE tip for people suffering knee pain under the patella is to adjust how you walk - you need to make sure you are putting pressure on your little toe, NOT your big toe. So when you are squatting down, keep pressure on your little toe, and when walking make sure you are pushing off with weight on your little toe - your feet still stay flat on the ground, but you push the weight against the small toes. May sound weird but the idea is that you don't want your knees to bend inwards, you want to keep them directly over your smaller toes. It's near impossible for your knees to bend inwards when you are keeping pressure on the outside of your foot, and you'll be activating the quads that help stabilize your patella.

      @MrFreshBuzz 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brother you don’t know how much this has made a difference that tip you gave. When I’m telling it made me almost cry from relief just from that simple adjustment by pushing off with little toes, I can’t thank you enough for that tip man, you alone have given me more confidence to continue throughout my physical therapy, again thank you man!

    • @trentbosnic

      @@MrFreshBuzz Dude, that is so cool to hear! I'm in the same boat as you, that little tip has almost entirely saved my knees after 4 years. I'm just passing on the advice which came from my physiotherapist, he's a brilliant guy with 30 years of experience.
      If it's helpful, the next steps he gave me after changing how I walk and bend was to start strengthening the muscles that help stabilize the knee, some require gym equipment. 10 mins on a indoor cycle, single leg romanian deadlifts, one leg squats on a lay down machine to keep body weight off (looks just like a pilates machine), step-ups on a 1ft tall bench, and single leg extensions on a machine with the pin out (no extra weight), keeping the foot pointed 45deg outwards and not going all the way down, just 20-30%. It's really important to keep lots of pressure on the little toe for all of these except the leg extensions. With the leg extensions apparently some people cannot do it without pain, and if so you'll need to get a CT scan.
      Finally, walking on sand 2-3 times a week, making sure to really push into the sand with the little toes when pushing into each stride. And if you have flat feet, get some cheap full length insoles with really high arch support.

      You’re literally a gem bro, a whole year going through different physical therapists, and you alone have helped with my pain and stiffness more than they ever have. I can’t wait to add those other exercises you mentioned. Ah thank you for giving me hope for my knee man, bless your soul fam 🙌

      @@MrFreshBuzz Hope it helps and you get some confidence back in those knees man. I have grade 4 chondromalacia patella and I'm currently able to run/cycle/row without pain, which is absolutely insane. I'm sure you can do it too.

    • @MrFreshBuzz
      @MrFreshBuzz 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Without any stiffness too? And do you by chance happen to play any sports and still resulting in no pain? See, I was diagnosed with significant chondral fissuring which is basically cracks and grooves in the articular cartilage where the patella runs through, pretty much chondromalacia, in the medial side. And I’m not saying this in an evil away haha but I’m so happy to hear someone with more serious chondromalacia than I is able to do all those perform in activities, gives me so much hope and confidence. I still can’t thank you enough for just that little tip you provided, day 2 and I already feel more better than ever.

    Hi there - thank you for your video. Is there any way to know which direction you need to tape the patella. Inside out or outside in? Couldn't the tracking problem essentially be caused by your muscles putting strain on your knee cap, one way or the other? I just tapped my knee from outside -> in, as your video depicts. But perhaps it will just be trial and error to see which way provides more comfort? I am focusing on rehab more, as I think my tight hamstrings and quads are more the culprit here. But if you could offer any additional advice, it would be appreciated!
