    I have had this my entire life, but it was not diagnosed until I was 46 and had a work injury. By that time I had no cartilage left under both my kneecaps. Now I tape in order to exercise my legs. It has made all the difference in the world. I am 66 and have not had to have any knee replacements because of this. Thanks for another informative video.

    I had the same experience, going down steps caused the most pain. What helped was doing exercises, I haven't had it for years now, I wish I new about taping back then. It was really painful.

    My skin is reactive to KT tape and a variety of medical adhesives. I've found that using a barrier film, such as Cavilon, before applying the tape protects me from the itching and rash. It also helps with adhesion.

    Non of my physical therapists have told me about my knee being in the wrong place but I’ve always thought it was pretty far on the lateral edge. And my knees have been getting more and more noisy as years have gone on

  • @RobertSmith-up9rz
    @RobertSmith-up9rz 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Many people have this issue because of patella misalignment by birth (my case). Strengthening and physical therapy won’t do nothing at all, too many years passed. Only solution is to tape or use knee braces.

    Hi, i'm 30 . years ago i messed my right knee up. but never really did anything about it. Now there is like a quarter size hard type of thing floating around in there. Sometimes when i do squats i have to wiggle it around so it wont get stuck. my knee locks up when i go down but when i move it out of the way i'm all good. what is that ?

    I tried to do that but I guess I'm too hairy and the taoing won't stick to my knee and even if I manage to stick it, once I move, my kneecap moves or I move my muscles it loosens it up. I guess I gotta shave my knees

    If the pain was from the inside as opposed to the outside of the knee, the tape would then run from inside to outside pulling away, correct?

    I'm trying out the tape and it definitely seems to help with the pain, but since I've put the tape on ive been getting a small painless pop at the top of my knee cap when it bends and then extends straight. Is this an issue or normal?

  • @tjwhitney5647

    So, my knee cap only hurts when I walk (just started about a week ago)..no pain when I climb stairs, ride my bike, etc...only when I walk on the level. There is no pain at all when I do squats. No pain when sitting or laying down. I'm 71. I've walked a minimum of 2 miles/day for years. I was just walking my dog when my knee started hurting.. Will this taping you describe help my problem? Any thoughts?

    • @susanhaymon8840
      @susanhaymon8840 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use skin prep on my leg before attaching the mefix white tape. Keeps it from rolling up. The leukotape sticks well to that with no problems. If it’s the leukotape rolling up, either curve the corners like someone said or make sure your hands are clean and dry, and touch as little around the edge as possible.

    • @susanhaymon8840
      @susanhaymon8840 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. I usually tape mine for 2-3 days and have bathed with the tape on. It does weaken it after a couple times though. It’s not recommended to leave the tape on more than 2 days at a time.
