The T-800 was one of Skynet's most well adverse machines, capable of many feats, even able to destroy more advanced model Terminators. But diving head first into a helicopter would damage it beyond repair. Not to mention it dove head first in the rotor blades! Marcus in Terminator Salvation was able to decapitate a T-800 with a metal rod, a rotor blade would have sent his head flying! Not to mention the damage it would have done to the endo skeleton.

After diving into the T-3000's helicopter, you'd think that Pops's skin would be fully burnt off and he would be reduced to his metal endo skeleton but no. It would be cool if a skeleton T-800 Pops's fought the T-3000 and while also speaking and helping Kyle and Sarah.

For me, this is a shitty scene. Helicopter's physic is too unrealistic like it's in some B-graded action movie in the 90s. Too much vfx/cgi. Take a look at helicopter-chase in T2. The sense of realness is what make that masterpiece.
I don't think it really matters. It looks cool. The suspense is there. The T3000 is hot on their tails and dangerous. What more does a story need? Realism at some point is just an aesthetic choice. Plus, most people aren't heli pilots. So, wouldn't know the difference anyway.

This is something I thought Genysis got so right the other films did not. We seen so many truck, car, and motorbike chases in the last several films, for once it was nice to have something a little different like a helicopter chase which I really enjoyed. To be honest fully I wish that they stuck to making the sequels for Genisys because really Dark Fate was absolutely crap. The actors were ok, and we had Linda and Anry back together but the storyline was absolute garbage!!!

Actually not the same model... T1 & T2 is T-800... Rise of The Machines and Genisys it's a T-850, which is a more durable version.
