    How is it that any time I search an obscure question about building my stang, it's always you with a video saying exactly how to do it? You're amazing.

      @@AlfsMustangGarage Do you recall which P/N fuel line was used on that build? I'm struggling to find one that's close enough that I can modify it for use with a Summit carb which has the inlet right in front of the choke. That one looks like it would definitely work with just 2 re-bends.

      I don't remember. But my computer remembers for me. I can pull up his invoice and find out for you tomorrow. But go on my website and send me an email through the contact me section and that will remind me so I don't forget.

    You're a lifesaver. I've been going crazy with this. The problem was worse because of a 4 bolt crank pulley that didn't work.

    Great job on the step by step. I remember a time when I thought these systems where simpler then a serpentine system. I will admit I was afraid of change.

    • @AlfsMustangGarage

      Dude! Ya when all you have is an alternator and water pump, super simple. But then you start adding other options and it's just so much more complicated. Imagine a setup like this with a California emissions smog pump!

    Only difference mine has is the upper bolt for the Alt bracket doesn't have a spacer behind it, my AC bracket has a dogleg that sits behind there instead.
    Otherwise, saved me so much time compared to the really terrible shop manual/assembly diagram reproductions. Thanks sir!

  • @AndyKruseChannel
    @AndyKruseChannel 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great video!!
    Do you know why two of the three bolts that hold the AC bracket are studs and not just bolts? Does it have anything to do with the installation procedure?

    • @AlfsMustangGarage
      @AlfsMustangGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Andy! So yes the studs are there because you have to install the power steering bracket first and then the lower ac bracket also installs over those studs. Makes it way easier to keep all that together with studs.

    Amazing, I’m literally in the middle of an AC under hood upgrade and PS pump rebuild. Question: There is a third hole in the front of the PS pump. Is it not used? Mine didn’t have a bolt but assumed it was missing.

    • @AlfsMustangGarage
      @AlfsMustangGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good timing then! So ya that third hole is not used. What it's for is a car that doesn't have ac and uses a different ps bracket.

    I have a 65 mustang 289 Non Ac. I have an Eaton pump with the reservoir on top of the pump. Will this bracket configuration fit my car? If so do you have information regarding where I can obtain on. Thanks

    I have another question, the brake lights on the 66 tbird don't work when the key is not in ignition switch and the pedal is depressed no clicking either, but as soon as the key is in the accessory position and run position they work like normal. is it normal for them not to work without the key in the acc or run position or do i have a problem?

    • @AlfsMustangGarage
      @AlfsMustangGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would assume it's normal to operate only when the key is on or in run position. But I would need to see the wiring diagram for it.

    Really enjoy your videos as I am rebuilding my 289. While watching this video , I have a question about a item located on the head just above the spark plug behind the upper arm of the alt mounting bracket. There is a round 1"x1" protrusion of the block with a hex head bolt in it. Any idea what this is for?

    Just went through this on my ‘66 yesterday! I upgraded to PS to mine (already had AC). I used a kit from CJ Pony with a 67 pump but the belt was too short. Do you happen to know the belt part numbers you used? I’m thinking maybe 15470?

    Hey sir, have another question for you. I have my 1966 mustang in-line 6 that has power steering. As of recently when I turn the steering wheel either left or right I get a screeching noise. My fluid level is good and the belt doesn’t seem loose. Do you have any ideas what would cause this issue?
