I feel like Codemasters sent someone who really likes this car to work on the sound.
in all of their recent games (dating back to even Dirt 2 !!!) their car sounds are absolutely perfect 10/10. Even Polyphony has worse sounds in Gran Turismo (i'd rate those 9/10).
Gran Turismo sounds aren’t horrible but they really improved
@@YszapHun on gran turismo sport, car sounds are very good , and some cars sounded best in video games like mclaren f1 and some other cars are perfect , go and check out
@@alperenkaragoz5348 some are perfect, but I have very sensitive white hearing, and I can concentrate on faults very easily. in GT sport, on most cars if you apply very light throttle, the texture of the sound does not change, it only gets louder, and the volume bumps after upshifts are really over exaggerated. some cars get it right tho, the 787B seems easy to replicate, i've seen it done awesomely in many games. but I say again, GT sport does sounds at an average 9/10 for me still...
codie always had the best car sounds, wish it was also the case with car physics. Maybe PC3 will change that

I love Dirt but I can't stand the tarmac's artificial slide physics.
i had heard in dirt rally 2.0 the tarmac physics are heavily improved upon compared to the first dirt rally. i cant play it cos im underage and id get routed if i asked for money, but on seeing this video i think either henrikm is a supernaturally talented driver or the tarmac physics as you say are completely arcadey and slidey.

Gianluca 98 no it isn’t... it has bad tarmac physics and is built on a forgiving engine... iRacing, Assetto corsa and... In my opinion Also Automobilista 2 are the best sims.
They certainly nailed that engine sound. Damn that could be an ASMR.
Especially when he bangs off the limiter. It's why i love inline-6 engines.

Why do the cars in this game look/feel like their center of gravity is 2 meters ahead of the front bumper?
its just how they are setup, if you go you can tweak it to feel more like a track car, but in rally you want that COG
Because the visual in 3rd person is not that good but front view feels amazing trust me

@@JotaV2502 it absolutely does not, on dirt and gravel maybe but every other sim is better on tarmac (Assetto Corsa, RFactor 2 Project Cars 2, the list goes on)

I've only played the first game, which iirc has different tarmac physics, but why does the car seem like it's sliding on ice? Is it just a lack of tyre squeal?

Codemasters were lazy to implement tarmac physics. So they just made grippier gravel and coloured it dark grey
The tarmac physics sucks ass in this game. Vr optimization could be better aswell but otherwise its truly amazing.
@M it'a a non assisted RWD car with almost 500hp going 200Kmh , if it dosen't have slicks on and you pump the gas just a bit too much in the corner it loses the grip of course.
@@barbutudor2148 Nah, the tarmac physics in 1 and 2 are goddamn AWFUL. It's literally gravel with the grip turned up to 100 so you still slide everywhere. Compare it to RBR or even WRC 8's tarmac physics and you'll see a colossal difference.
If only forza worked this hard on their audio

I love how reallistic it looks. The graphics and textures on the translucent rear lights plastic are neat.
But it doesnt give you the feel that the wheels are rolling on the ground, and that those rear wheels are propelling the car. It deems like its sliding even at mild speeds. Just my opinion.
I really think the sense of speed is just very distorted because of the 3rd person camera. It's RWD with 500hp on 80s tires, it's gonna slide no matter what surface it's on.

This is not yet Group B, it's Group 4. The M1 did compete in early Group B rally events, however. It didn't do very well since it was way too big for the courses and expensive to run.

These streets are comically narrow.
When you are doing 200 in a 50 of course it seems narrow

I was never much for the M1 until i heard it in this game. Now i love it.
What a sound, codemasters really put effort in that. Most produceres don't seem to care that much, but sound plays a huge part in making a motorsports game.

They didn't, the tarmac is basically just gravel with a lot more grip. That's why the car is just sliding all the time

Love the shopping trolly cars in this game driving diagonally with no sense of tyre traction at all. The physics seem like such a step backward from Dirt Rally 1 lmao.

Underappreciated car in both real life and the game.
The sound design on this game is amazing, but you dont really get that sense of speed like you get on other games. Like you can be doing over 2 bucks and it doesnt really feel like it.

I don't think you know how to play Dirt Rally 2.0. You are supposed to see how much damage you can do to the car by the time you cross the finish line. And you my friend have not put a single scratch on the car. FAIL
Dirt rally is trash and has the most UNREALISTIC controls of any racing game.

The tarmac physics in this game are terrible. The car is constantly sliding. It plays like a more grippy gravel surface
