Arcades aren't worse, sometimes are even more fun than simulators, specially elitists simulators like RBR. Sometimes you just want to have fun, and RBR is the complete opposite to have fun playing LMAO.
Mine too :) Loved to play this as a kid, too bad the career mode was too difficult later on, and couldn't beat the game 100% no matter how hard I tried. While normal was too easy, and hard was perfect, but very hard was way too difficult for me and I couldn't achieve 1st place in this final mode.
I haven't been able to find a game in it but I still play it to this day. I just wish Dirt 2 was brought to the backwards compatibility program for Xbox.
Am I the only one who as a kid thought Nicky Grist was saying ‘McCrest’? Even when I got a bit older and found out that ‘…crest’ is a normal co-driver call, I still had it in my head that it was still ‘McCrest’ given 90s-2000s Codemasters’ penchant for putting a sneaky little hidden message in their games somewhere. That would have only made a bit of sense if there were more things in the game with ‘Mc-‘ added at the beginning of the word 😂

dirt 2 is incredible with its hard rock freerider atmosphere, great graphics which are still cool, difficult gameplay which made me spend hours on it and reinstall it several times a long time later

Collin Mcrae 2005 was my childhood playing in XBOX pure nostalgia and now Dirt 2.0 is the best I have ever played, very good experience, physics, driving and the AI is very challenging.
Loved Colin 04, because it had this tire damage model where you have to look after your tires or they blew up. Also Dirt 1, the good old time where every game was blurry and sephia :D
HUGE differance since 1998 - 2000 to 2002. Dirt 2.0 from 2009 looks good even now. New games are not so better than those from 2, 3, or 5 years ago. Now we need huge computing power to even small changes in graphics. McRae 2000 was my favorite game back than and it aged well

Colin McRae Rally / DIRT series never made a bad game, at least the big ones were all at least decent (top down mobile was quite good also btw), but i have to say i hold CMR 2.0 in highest regard. For some sick reason i prefer PSX version (i like it's low pixel visuals more), but overall i think of it as just perfect mix of arcade and light sim, with awesome tracks and cars. There are more rally games that i like almost as much like WRC 4 on ps2 (not to mistake with one on ps3), Rally Challenge 2 on OG Xbox, V-Rally 4, DIRT Rally and even Sebastian Loeb Rally Evo - but CMR 2.0 has to be my number one, which is even more funny considering that i think the same about Gran Turismo 2 which is overall my favourite game. And yes i do play every above and many others on daily basis, no nostalgia here, because as a kid i had couple games only.

Colin 1 was one of my first games, absolutely loved it and felt like it was much better than 2nd CM

the 1998 ingame dashboard camera movement/dynamic is unparalleled to this day. Dirt 3 comes in second but not close
