Walter Röhl once said that driving in the seat of your pants on this thing (all Group B) is not enough, one has to think and act way more advanced. Meaning it was more proactive than reactive.

I've experienced this game with a VR Headset. I hate to admit it, but it's the first time ever when dealing with a video game that I have gotten or felt sick because of it. It was only after about not even 5 mins of playing in VR...
@@Djentalman that's because of VR, not the game. A lot of people said that it takes time to adjust to VR and the first few times you could get sick. Maybe try again and see if you still experience it

i love how the car in the game is feeling like in real life with gazillion tons of understeer so you need to scandinavian flick it before each corner :D with quattro its simple: you go sideways or you go into trees :D

RWD cars would be more at home on asphalt, it's all about the driving style; but i'm sure that a 037 at this exact stage in these conditions would be the toughest thing in the game... if Walter Röhrl refuses to do it, than it must be tough!

Danny Colwell so did I. I started with the Lancia though. It's a super fun game. The H1 class used to be super hard for me. I just started the H2 class with RWD. Man am I struggling but having so much fun!

@@not_herobrine3752 Dirt Rally is difficult though, you don't know when you might mess up if you get out the track, so, you might need to memorize it before trying
I was on the edge of my seat watching that. Brilliant. Just got this gsme 2 days ago and I would play it all day but when you're living with your gf and a kid its hard to get the time in haha. Loving it so far. I've been a massive forza fan since forza4 and when I changed the settings to the same as forza this was a nice change of racing game that really tests you
I would have planted the car into the trees at least 12 times and taken out a couple of dozen spectators during this course :)
I found increasing the slow and fast bump as well as rebound, with slightly stiffer springs really helped tame this car in Finland

That moment when you realize the Group B drivers were drive like that in real life 🙄 it's insane
They didn't drove that fast. In game it is bit different because you don't have to worry about your life. But yeah, they was King of rally and will be legend rest of time world exist. 💪
And this is why Group B lasted as short as it did.
Cause Lancia wanted to keep proving RWD were good as AWD on *tight* and *thin* stages and having the drivers driving with Lancia having to be careful and fast which was impossible with RWD.
And then they decided to make the psychopathic Delta S4 which had 400 horse power at what felt like 600 RPM and the power didn’t drop off at the top because of the massive turbo it had with 460 horsepower at high rpms, and it weighed 890 kilograms, great.
Oh and it was all wheel drive

Knowing from your older videos that you are definitely a grip driver on the track, I love this what you've shown in here with Audi Quattro on the wet mud. Sure, some sliding is normal thing in rally, but you do have grip driving style which maybe isn't so cool from the outside, but in POV even on here is incredible :D Kind of like Sebastien Loeb. Awesome control and driving, congratulations!
If you look closely, you can see that the steering wheel shakes a lot (in the game), but the driver's arms don't move with those vibrations. It seems they "slip" off the wheel. A detail, in my opinion, quite curious

How do you correct the car’s course like that after a jump? Especially while steering at the landing! When i drive, the car always does a 180 after landing on jumps.
The way you approach the jump and position the car before the jump is really important, if you get that right after jump just small correction is needed
Clever little blips of the throttle, avoid the urge to break unless really necessary, this guy does it perfectly

What settings are you running on the CSL? And the force feedback?
I noticed that you don’t shift as much as I would on a stage, is this because of the wet conditions or is it better to stay in the high rev range of a lower gear as long as possible? I’m new to rally games ( in my head, short shifting means traction but I’m probably wrong haha)
You want to keep that turbo boost up as much as possible. Low revs = Less boost

Group B was the best Rally Era, later, they found 4 fingers on the Audi Quattro, some people want to feel the car with his own fingers, so when de Car comes...
Impressive, but couldn’t help but notice that your steering wheel never rotated more than 180 degrees in a car with a 1080 rotation. Is that a sheer speed characteristic? No matter which car I drive, the wheel is getting cranked, and I’m at 900 w/soft lock on.
When your gf says she is home alone:
I'm new to Dirt Rally and after beating the H1, H2 and I think H3 the next category on the menu was Group B so I was like "yea that's probably the next step in the games progression", bought and Audi Quattro and couldn't do anything. Then I sold it and decided to take a shot at another Group B car and turns out the Quattro seems to be the hardest one to drive for me. I got the Lancia Delta and while it was much better it was still too fast for me.
Signed out of Group B and jumped to Group A. Guess I'm on the right track now.
Group B is insane, but also the most fun once you get it down. Keeping it on the track is one thing, but when your car wants to kill you on the straights it can only be a Group B car.

I remember Walter Röhrl saying he hated Finlands rally because of long jumps etc. He didn't even participate in them. He said something along the lines of "If I wanted to fly, I would have become pilot instead of rally driver." And that's fucking dead on.
I live in Finland. I had a girlfriend near Jyväskylä once, God damn that area in Finland is like a fucking roller coaster. Land is just hills and downhills from one to another. Where as I live in area here land is just continuous flat surface. In Jyväskylä area and east Finland every little road that is coated with gravel is a death wish to any "I think I can take this" wanna be rally driver.

What does it mean when he just says a number like 80, 60, etc?
Distance (in meters) call till the next alert he gives, could be jump, turns etc. I forget how the turn calls work but the number he calls determines the degree of the turn to imagine for the driver. The driver obviously knows the course, but the co-pilot’s job is to reinsure he knows exactly what’s coming before it comes.
@@Stupefii 1 to 6, sharpest to slighest for the turns. It can be confusing when you hear "35 right" which is actually "30, 5 right" as the distance is always in units of 10.
In the game early on you're completely reliant on the co-drivers pace notes which makes these stages much more difficult, fine when you can see but in low visibility or blind turns you're taking big gambles based on the notes. Eventually you start remembering specifically tricky sections but it takes an age to learn an entire stage unless you focus on 1 location.
