I tried 5th gear in the Quattro on dirt 4 in Spain I flipped into the crowd
If there is one thing I love in this game, above all the other things, is that the devs paid A LOT of respect to the sheer monstrosity that is the Quattro.
I like to think of the Quattro as being a 4 ENGINE MONSTROSITY! X'D

This car killed me over thousand times, driving Group B (AWD) rally cars is for me really hard...
Try Group B (RWD) on keyboard
The AWD/4WD system is different from R5/AP4
turn off all the assists.(you can leave abs if you want) peugeot 205 t16 is the best awd group b car imo, if you know your speed limit

@@b.8127 Dude, all group B cars are too savage, too powerful for me in Dirt Rally, but the 205 T16 is just an uncontrollable monster. Reaching 190 km/h in 3rd gear, its freaking unreal :D

Back in the 80', those car were the F1 Class type car design for hardcore rally races.
The Group B era, from 1982 to 1986 has claimed more lives during it's practice than the rest of all the rally races to this day. (Hill climb event included)
The game really achieve to depict the sheer launching power of the car as well as it's incredible scary agility while flying over those treacherous tracks.
Good lord the turbo sounds and the engine sound are pretty spot on

The AI in Dirt Rally is just ruthless. Hendrik was killing that stage and still the AI is tailing just 2 seconds behind at the end.
I love this, 2 seconds in any other racing game is wiping the floor with the AI. In rallying games they're still breathing down your neck.
I had to watch this three times. One looking at the game, one looking at his hands, and one looking at his feet.

the great thing about this car is that it gives you so much power that once youre used to it you dont need to worry jf your going fast enough, all you need to do is focus on the turns
Spent an hour here with the M3 with a controller to manage a 3:05 after knowing this by heart from dirt rally 1. That is some good driving there

The track was really demanding , the sound of that beast was really realistic , the gamer played daring but not flawlessly but i give him credit for playing it manually ! Some of the downshifts were suberb , he knows enough about timing and his instinct was good most of the time . I never had the chance to play a rally game with steering wheel and all that stuff , so i am not sure how much of a challenge it is therefore i give thumbs up to the video and it's maker ! Well done !

if the driver messed up even once and wreaked they were dead group b was so dangerous but that's why people liked it.

Btw I'm really hoping some day they make the quattro in Dirt Rally go up to the 600hp it really achieved and give it a sound more realistic or similar to the real one as is not just my favourite rally car of all time, but my favourite car of all.

Even in game, Group B cars are just pure death machine. The engineers who made Group B cars are psychopaths and probably serial killers.
As of why he doesn't shift to fifth gear, you know damn well shifting further than fourth means DEATH in this nightmare machine.

It is always a blessed (or cursed depending on the outcome) to drive a Group B monster.
You are wrong the way you see it ! A Group B car was a challenge but not a curse , there is a old guy who could told you so , the legend Walter Rohrl , drove the specific car for decades . It's up to the driver skills , you either have it or you don't but there is no such thing as a curse ...it's a machine , taking orders from a human ...
