There's so much "creativity potential" exploding out from that unique musical frequency...
No tellin' what a guy might come up with interesting capacitors, pedal(s), & lyrics...😆🎶🤷🏽
My congrats to the Soul whom obtains it!

The string arrangement makes the normal pitch sound first and the octave a split second next. It’s what makes the Rick sound unique when played. I’ve got the same ‘66 model in mapleglo.

My parents bought me a 360/12 in 1966. I have the receipt from a music store in Long Beach, CA and it was $340 with rick-o-sound box in August 1966, adjusted for inflation that would be $3,192.58 in today's dollars. I think that is more than a new one costs today.

You can get them new from a Rick dealer for around $2300

@@bshilkitus SO they're less expensive today than they were then. AND I think they do a better job of making them now.

Hi, the firstone George had, had an .0047uF in series connection with the bridge pickup. Check that on yours. It makes lot of difference in sound. Rickenbacker change that circuit on later models

It is still a very expensive guitar. I got a Hagström DLX12 for more than half the price, equally present ' Byrds ' jangle, equally (not identically, for the record) vintage look and way more playability.

But the mojo factor just can't be beat.
