Hellllooo and happy Sunday friends! 😄 Today we're making Japanese style fluffy pancakes inspired by my recent trip to Japan! My mom and I went to Cafe Gram in Harajuku and LOVED the fluffy pancakes there, so I knew I had to figure out how to recreate them for Mother's Day! And better yet, these ones are shaped like bears!! Adorable!! 😄😄😄 P.S. In case 4:14 was TL;DR - wanted to quickly address some of the concerns on my last video when a handful of you guys said you missed my baking videos since I've done so many DIY ones recently! To explain: before going to Japan, I wanted to pre-film videos for you guys so you wouldn't miss out! But I had to do DIY videos since baking videos take twice as long to make, which led to the three DIY videos in a row. Once I got back, I did the Japan Haul since it was timely and then the Starbucks Frap Slimes because those came out while I was in Japan and I wanted to get a video up on them as soon as possible. But I've now realized that from your perspective, it totally looks like I've just been avoiding the baking videos! 😥 So sorry about that!! From now on, I'm going to be alternating between baking and DIY videos and doing my best to post twice a week 😊 Thanks for being patient guys!! Big hugs, and sorry for the confusion! ❤️

How can 202 people dislike this vid? PANCAKE DISCRIMINATION!! Btw, just a random question, Rachel how do you separate your egg whites from your egg yolks? it is really hard for me and I figured you would know the best way since you are like a professional and you are AWESOME. Thanks!!
tani18 astro I'm not her, but I'd recommend using the shell. (You can look up videos since it's difficult to describe) You crack the egg and keep flipping the yolk from half to half until all the egg white has fallen to the bowl. You can also buy egg white strainer things online/in store! Wouldn't recommend the water bottle trick though as some yolk can be left in - so you can't make things like meringue or macarons.

I love your videos! In Singapore our pancakes are also really thick but just a little thinner than these. We cut them in half and place fillings in between! My favourite filling is red bean. We also have these fluffy Japanese style pancakes with fillings in the middle like chocolate, red bean, kaya (coconut jam) and many more! The traditional Singaporean fluffy pancake called mee jian kueh and the Japanese style mini pancakes are both easily accessible and equally beloved by Singaporeans.
I tried these out yesterday, and they are absolutely delicious! It’s so crispy and fluffy. It’s very easy to make, and it also smells very nice! I did mess up on heating the butter before, so it started clumping, but just put the bowl of wet ingredients into a big hot bowl of water, and it works! It even made it somewhat jiggly because of it. :D
i wish I could bake properly I'm the worst cook ever 😞 once I trued to makw cream Carmel then I ended up burning almost half of the pans and my mom told me to stop baking bcoz it's almost the 5th time to fail at baking😭 but that won't stop me from baking and my love to cooking lol
Habiba Hassan try making everything from basics before jumping to cream. Try the box mix, then making the mix, making the frosting, then harder things.

You could crack the eggs into a bowl, and just use an empty water bottle to suction the yolks out

Crepes are not even an 1/8 inch thick, they are really thin, pancakes, normal thickness are about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick, and that is a normal size.
