I like the part: "You can only share your gift if you've accepted yourself". That's so true and totally applies to me. Everybody has a gift/a talent but most people are scared to create a TH-cam channel (f.e.) even if they would love to. I still have to learn a lot! Great video, Mimi :)

My mom always taught me that having negative thoughts about myself and others is from the devil. Every time I have these thoughts I have to consciously stop doing it and think positively- or accept myself and others. 🌺 And, that's when my whole attitude changes for the better!

It's more common than one would think, to suffer from anxiety. Many people have it, especially women. It's an evolutionary survival mechanism to be always staking out the dangers of a situation. I once heard a scientist say that if mothers were not worriers, then mankind would not exist.
I think that when undergoing anxiety, it's also a good technique to think, "This is my primal voice sending me a warning to take care of myself (or a loved one, etc). That is all. Thank you, primal voice, I've heard you. Now I'm ready to move on." And then flip the mental switch to thinking positively. It works quite well! : )

The idea of accepting myself came to me one day when I was so mad to myself because I caught me don't like the behaviour of a friend of mine. At that moment I was saying to myself what kind of friend I am if I feel this way for a friend. I am always trying to love and not judge people and what I realise that day is I don't have to do that. People can be wrong and I can feel bad about them and that does not make me a horrible person. From that day till now I am trying to accept me and even though I HATED that I was not perfect now I feel better. You continue to inspire me after all these years. love you mimi 💖

On mantras, I've always thought they were a bit hokey myself, and it's hard for me to repeat a specific mantra. However, I am a firm believer in the power of positive thinking and I feel like they are related. The more you tell yourself negative things, or focus on the things you don't like about yourself, the more prevalent those things will be to you. I try to focus on the positive in life and in myself. I'm not always very good at it, but I try. One of my favorite quotes is "The problem is not the problem, your attitude towards the problem is the problem.". It reminds me that if I look at things as opportunities, or try to see the good in things, the more good there will be in my life. If I only see obstacles and negatives, then that's what my life will be. By the way, I really do enjoy these videos, your positive outlook on life is inspiring. Thank you for sharing!

I am not a very outgoing person and I would always hate myself for that, and I would start comparing with other people and put myself down for that. I thought this is what a strong person would do, but you are right, you become stronger only when you accept yourself. so enlightening! sending love back to you for sharing the message.

Mimi you are truly amazing. I had tears when you mentioned that you receive comments on your accent because I relate a lot to that. My first language is turkish and I also speak french and english. And I do have an accent in english too. I was always shy to speak in english because of that but now I am starting to accept and love that part of me, and I am improving every day. this is so true! accepting yourself is just being honest to yourself. so it is much easier to be honest to other people! for example this year I learned to accept that I am not physically able to do as much as the people around me and by accepting this I could explain it to the people around me better and in return all of them understood and helped me.

Thank you for bringing up this important aspect of being a human! We are our worst critics many times and acceptance is a way we show compassion towards our poor selves! Also it can help us accepting others since we have no control over what people do or say. Çok teşekkür ederim! Much love from Istanbul!💕

Hi Sweet Mimi, this video reminded me of the book, The Four Agreements. "If you judge yourself you will find yourself guilty, therefore you will punish yourself". Your example of the night you decided to accept yourself really hit home for me. I am very similar... fear is one unpleasant companion. Yet, resistance only creates anxiety, so it's tricky. Love the video Mimi and truly appreciate your honesty. This is what appealed to me about you since day one. It's not about being perfect, it's about the journey and helping each other in the process. LOVE IT! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

  • @giovannacento1287
    @giovannacento1287 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Hi Mimi, I would like to make an integration to your video. I recently read "The four agreements" ( I remember Alex suggested this book) and the tool that mostly is helping me to accept myself is following these agreements: be impeccable with your word, don't take anything personally and don't make assumptions...The fact that we judge ourselves so much is because, during our life, we had been obliged to follow society's rules about how we have to be...When you realize that every person lives in his/her own dream, in his/her own world, you start understanding that for a long time you followed other people's rules, rules created by others' expectations , and these expectations have no relationship with our own life...It is something difficult to explain for me but the book is very easy and very powerful and the writer talks to you as he would talk to a baby. My training to accept myself as I am is long but I think I am finally on the right path. Thank you!

I loved listening to this video Mimi. If we were all perfect and had no faults, how boring would that be. And if we can change something in ourselves that we're not happy with and see the change, then how much better does that make us feel about ourselves. On the whole Mimi, you have no reason to ever doubt yourself, you are a very lucky young woman that has been blessed with so many lovely qualities, beauty, lovely personality, amazing figure, interesting, ambitous, intelligent. Never doubt yourself again, your vunerability makes your personality so much more endearing. And that's why people love listening to you.x

What I respect about you the most, is your ability to understand your own habits and actions. I notice you use the phrase "I caught myself doing/being..." and I think it's so brave of you to face your problems like that.
I'm going to try and be like you!
btw, I agree with you about mantras! It's kind of like affirmation.☺️

In EFT / tapping technique you use the "I deeply and completely love and accept myself" saying a lot - it always helps me feel a little better when I say it :)

I appreciate your honesty Mini and that you think these things through and are intentional about your life. Even though I've not met you I feel like I know you well and care about you. I agree it's not helpful to judge yourself but we do not need to accept that we have fears and anxieties and allow them, there is no fear in love, perfect love drives out all fear and true freedom and liberation comes not from accepting fear but living without it. Fear doesn't serve us, it hinders us. I had to give birth in a forgein country and was plagued with fear about it, but through the wisdom of some amazing women in my life I was able to charge forward with my birth with ZERO fear and it changed my life! I hope you can find total freedom from fear and anxiety through love and come to know and believe it is possible. I don't normally comment on videos but I care about you and want you to experience this same freedom from fear that I have found.

This is why I love you. You're always so open, honest, and I find you to be an incredibly inspiring human being. I relate a lot because Im a super creative person too, and my right brain is always working overtime...imagining things that may not be true. I hope you continue to judge yourself less and less because I only see beautiful things about you.

You are such an intelligent and inspiring woman! I always tell people that you are my role model, not for your looks (eventhough you are gorgeous) but because of your mindset, I love it! You also talk about a lot of things my therapist taught me! Keep up the good work!

Actually it would be really nice if you could do a video on time management!
The main reason why I struggle with accepting myself is that I feel like I am always running behind,
and never manage to do the things I have put myself to do!
maybe I try to fit too much on a day...not sure what it is but you probly have a busy agenda and still manage so, please share the HOW TO!

Once I liked the thought of one physchoterapist - INSTEAD ACCEPTING YOURSELF STOP REJECTING YOURSELF FIRST =) So simple - but so true! You're making an effort to reject yourself firstly, then you become learning to love yourself again - effort again.. but it all started earlier - in the childhood - the way you treat yourself is the way parents treated you, your thoughts about yourself oftenly are theirs (if you hadn't worked with it earlier). So it is obvious that when a child is born - s\he doesn't reject himself - it's all learned from the communications with the parents, significant others & other people!!! So - just stop doing the double work, instead learning how to judge yourself, then learning how to love yourself - JUST STOP REJECTING \ JUDGING \ HATING \ & doing other bad things to the dearest one in the world - you! \ YOURSELF like other people in childhood did with you! Of course this attitude can also be caused by trauma, tragedy, family history & scenarios, your own childhood decisions or be in a Shadow area - so you can explore it & work with it also.
