For anyone else that sees this. There is a hole next to that release lever you can put a flat head screwdriver into and "pump" the master cylinder. Still quite a pain compared to a vehicle brake pedal! But maybe easier that the large crowbar and chains.
Can you do a video on troubleshooting when your surge brake won't let you back up? I mean if you have time, you seem very knowledgeable and I cannot find one video on this subject.
I done the exact same thing on my old boat trailer and it made absolutely NO difference whatsoever .My brakes worked as usual for years after I jerked the cord out....
It’s not about the breaks working it’s about if it comes lose from the tow vehicle it locks the trailer breaks and stops the boat trailer from going till it hits something..

I had the same exact thing happen when I took my boat in for repairs. Did you have to replace your master cylinder

So, how did you ultimately fix the cable?
To be honest I sold the boat and trailer shortly after making this video so I never replaced the cable.
Don't you have to just use a screw diver under the actuator to pump the brakes ??........
I do think you are correct about being able to use a screwdriver or pry bar to pump cylinder from underneath.
