Bro i have the same camera and i have a question . When i load the film and click some pictures and turn it off , in the lcd it shows the reel count and isn’t turned off. Is that normal?
Thanks for this excellent video. I have a Rebel 2000 which I think is the same as the camera in your video. It is kind of cheap and plastic, but it works great with the Canon lenses I have.
i bought one today before i saw this video, it was really cheap, really good deal with 28-80 and 80-200 lenses, i finished half a roll in the house just to check out the flash (kodak 200 expired) and it actually is a very fun camera to use
I got this camera too. What I like so much is the autofocus, which my older analog cameras lack. I'm also very much interested in doing long exposures (30 seconds) and double exposures with it. Have you tried exposure bracketing with this camera yet? What are your thoughts on shooting bracketed on film and post processing these shots? And loading film. Wow, amazing!
I have not tried exposure bracketing. I believe froknows photos has a video on bracketing, taking the negatives, then using Lr for a bracketing. I have not tried exposure IRL. hope that helps!
I just finished a roll of Fuji 400 in my Kiss III this morning. lol The Kiss III is Japan's version of the 300. The EOS 2000 is the version that was sold on USA. The only difference, really, is the Kiss III has panorama mode. Which I would never use. Great photos. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, beautiful picutres! Now I'm even more glad that I found this camera at home. My mom found this camera somewhere in Germany. I never used film camera in my life, but from now I will for sure! I need your help mate, I hope you can help me out. I have TAMRON AF ASPHERICAL XR (IF) 28-200MM 1:3.8-5.6 MACRO and of top of that i found something B+W 62 010 UV-Haze 1x MRC, I have no idea what my equipment can do, and is it worth it for begginers.
Thank you! It’s a amazing camera. I’m not too familiar with those lenses. Can you mount them on the camera? If so just get started! Start shooting film and check out Eric floberg he photographs film too. :) hope that helps.
You can still buy the batteries. I have seen them in stores even. Oh and the camera is highly underrated. I don't understand why people pay to money for a AE or A-1 or something like that. I just bought 2 of these plus an extra 1000f for 5 euro of 12.15 euro including shipping.
I find the CR2 batteries in Target and Walmart. Usually next to the 123s (another EOS battery). What I don't find is the gawd dam 2cr5 battery! The 2cr5 battery is used in most pro and pro-sumer Canon cameras! Just a little pet peeve of mine.
Hi Isaac, thank you for the video! I have a question: how did you put the Helios 44mm on the EOS 300? My father has the same lens on an old Zenit TTL and I recently bought an EOS 300… :D
Thank you for this video!! Do you have a tutorial on how to shoot with film cameras, specifically this one? I'm buying my first roll and don't want to mess anything up! Thank you :)
im looking at some videos, and they look very similar. Sometimes, based on regions, cameras will get different names (like in the US, we call it the Rebel Series & in Japan it is know as the Kiss series). They do look like the same camera, the eos 2000, might just be the same or have a slight spec bump.
What goes unnoticed by many is the fact that most AF plastic fantastic cemaras of the late 80's and 90's were equipped with very competent shutter mechanism that easily went to 1/2000s. If you take film camera with any 50mm f1.4 lens and try shooting 100ASA film at f1.4 on a sunny day you will soon realize that 1/1000s shutter speed is too slow and pictures come out overexposed. As much as I love the metal bodies of Nikon FE/FM along with all sorts of Minolta, Yashica, Konica, Fujica and Olympus gems, they all were limited to 1/1000s maximum shutter speed. On top of that all those ancient cameras unless they are serviced properly can not reach their designed maximum 1/1000 and instead often top out at 1/700s. The best bargain in the plastic fantastic analog camera realm is a Nikon f-801, which has a shutter mechanism able to meter at 1/8000s, which even by todays DSLR or mirrorless standards is unsurpassed limit of even the best crop sensor shutter mechanisms. The F-801 was made for professional and today available for peanuts. Great video and subject matter otherwise.
I just bought one for 10 bucks including shipping. Don’t know how much I’ll be using it (got a decent mirrorless and a 70's SLR), but maybe turn-of-the-millenium stuff will be the next big thing? Anyway, I’m excited to try the convenience of a camera like this with film. Might end up really awesome, might end up feeling really boring. I’ll see. =)
I have exactly the same setup as you, and agree completely! The 300 is such good value and you can’t buy anything like it for less than £200. I love that you still get complete control, the viewfinder is brilliant, it’ll take my Sigma Art just as well as my vintage Helios and SMC takumar lenses. I cannot overstate its value as a beginner’s SLR - I’m a professional (digital) photographer and grew up after the popularisation of digital cameras, so the 300 is my first experience of film. It’s no better than most SLRs, but the price and it’s adaptability make it absolutely awesome for the money
I got gifted an EOS 500N for nothing. It even came with some lenses. Have put 2 rolls of colorplus 200 film through it just waiting on them to be devoloped.
i just looked it up ! it looks very similar to the 300! this 500n def has a more retro look as compared to the 300. The 300 def has the rebel look we are so accustomed to. Thank you for watching and hope you get great results !
Hey everyone, If i have provided any value with this video. I set up a Buy Me a Coffee where you can help me create more videos like this. Thanks: www.buymeacoffee.com/isaacmijangos
I just got my dad’s EOS 300. I’m very excited to put some new glass on there after seeing what your work here. Thanks for the great vid!
It’s an amazing camera. No need for a contax t2 😂
this was an insane review, thank you. I'm so jealous of your shots
Thank you man ! I appreciate it. You thinking about getting yourself one now? They’re dirt cheap.
Just got this camera...Thanks for your video I didn't know how to fully use it
No problem !
those are some beautiful photos you took!! very informative video, thanks heaps!
Thanks for watching !
since my Contax T2 just died, I will use the 300 with a 40mm STM as a point and shoot replacement.
I just finished a roll of Fuji 400 in my Kiss III with a 40mm pancake lens. Now we wait. lol
The Kiss III is Japan's version of the 300.
Hi, what adapter did you use for the Helios? Great video btw😊

Does your adapter form helios to canon have chip?
No
can you recommend any lenses for this camera? I currently have the stock
What type of photography will you be doing
@@isaacmijangos basically stuff just shooting whatever nothing special
You can never go wrong with the 35mm 2.8 or a 50mm f1.8. I was considering buying a cheap 50mm and making that combo my on the go setup.

The 2000 was the 300 for the USA market. The 300 was the Kiss in the Japan market. Got to love wiki! Lol

pretty far past when you made this video, but duracell make a cr2 battery that is pretty good and easy to get :)
