Been shooting a Nikon F3 since getting back into photography and am now at the point where I want to have a second camera on hand. I think you've just convinced me on the Canon EOS 300. Seems like an overqualified secondary camera, and really cheap with it not being particularly trendy, at the moment. It's funny how the best deals are with more modern cameras, that period just before digital took over. Thanks, man.

I just finished my first roll of Fuji 400 this morning in my Kiss III. The Kiss III is Japan's version of the 300. Seems to be a nice little camera. We will see how the photos turn out.

Great video, thanks a lot! I'm thinking to buy this and it's good to know that I can use other modern lensens I already own! 😊

    Excellent video. Thank you.
The viewfinder is amazing with NO DISTRACTING FOCUS INDICATOR Lights. A fun camera.

my english is a shit but i understood like 75% and i really liked thanks so much. My mom bought this camera 20y ago when i was born to photograph me and my family and never talk about it, with 17y i asked a dslr for present (nikon d3500, oh this camera gives me headache) to photograph birds, in the kit was a 70-300mm that i like a lot and take pictures of the moon to, i am in the world of photograph about 2y, and some months ago i found this canon in the boxes and i had already started to study film photography. When you love photos you always want to learn more and enjoy what you can about photos.👍

Hoi Loremkirsten je kan ook automatisch vertalen instellen naar nederlands dan heb je redenlijk goeie vertaling beter dan naar engels luisteren

These are so cheap and fun! I shoot events on a K-1 II and wanted to get into film. I put the worst disposable camera-esque lens from amazon on this and shot in black and white. I love how the images came out. This is the perfect camera to get into film for beginners IMO. Highly recommended.

This was my first daily driver and had it for many years until it was lost in a suitcase. I started on film in a digital world and still have a collection of film cameras, even though my main is an EOS R now.
The 300 was replaced with a 300v (one of the quickest autofocus system at the time) but I still have a spare 300 body. 300v is tackier but does have desirable upsides to the 300.
In regard to focus issues, it's best to manually select your focus point and to get around the lack of points, focus on what you want then lock it and reframe. The focus also suffers in dark environments and if you don't have the AF assist light on, enable it. If not, it should fire during manual focus at night regardless. The 300 also has the most accurate and reliable metering I've ever used.
Ironically it also takes nicer images than the EOS 300, but I've found almost workable workarounds to that.

Great SLR. I still have mine from 1999 and use it occasionally as a complement to my digital EOS.

My only disappointment was discovering that the 2nd generation kit lens was not great.
However I've bought a 50mm 1.8 and will be looking forward to using this year.

I found a pentax camera from my granddad, its an old SLR. The battery leaked out of its compartment, is it possible to fix the camera? My granddad past away 8 years ago and i would love to relive his passion as my new hobby.

Hi! I have recently started getting into film cameras and got this as a gift. I’m not very good with understanding all the different types of film formats. What one should i buy for this camera?

This camera takes standard 35mm film

Just got this camera as my first film camera. It seems promising but using the viewfinder is a bit cumbersome. Its a bit blurry to me and it seems like there is no way of ajusting the viewfinder like on modern cameras.

I have the Eos 300 matched with the 75-300 lens. I listen to podcasts on my headphones while sitting in the Aussie bush and wait for birds to land near me.
I have taken some beautiful photos and learnt a lot from podcasts. I paid $100 Aussie dollars for the camera. Bargain 🐦

Can you share how the scratches occur on you Pentax images?

    • @Made_by_Matthew
      @Made_by_Matthew  ปีที่แล้ว

A lot of it comes from the camera itself, I don't think it was in the best condition before me.
Some of the most egregious scratches came from a bit of grit that got stuck in the squeegee

@@Made_by_Matthew Nice video, btw. Came here for the 300v review, as I just got one. Im much better prepared now, having seen this, and it was a pleasure to watch. I also have an ME, which is a super cute camera, and the Takumar lenses are pretty special. Your ME scratches could easily happen with a 300v. Comparing the two, it was really useful to see your two color rendition charts!! I’d like to see a separate video going into more detail on that. It went by so quickly.
