This looks like one of those world record Dirt Rally 2.0 runs, where someone memorized the stage and is doing some crazy jump cuts and pixel perfect driving.
haha, that was my impression too. everyone said the air time in dirt rally 2.0 was unrealistic. but here we have proof thats not necessarily the case. in fact, in ea sports wrc they went a bit too far in the opposite direction and you basically never get air time.
its not finland but shares all the elements of rallying at its absolute best. fast, flowing, jumpy, blind corners. peak of motorsport. pleasure to watch.
Absolutely ridiculous. Those jumps were crazy! And the ability to take them at an angle to set up for the next corner really shows off how well the suspension and chassis work. He could place that thing on a pinpoint anywhere on the track. Amazing driving.
@@blaaahization Probably - without that hayball drivers would go flatout and use extra space from the field, as was seen on the power stage at last jump
I know the drivers in rally are doing an insane job but can we please appreciate how the copilots never vomit after 3 jumps while reading the track hints? I cannot even read on my phone when I'm on the passenger seat and we're driving through a hilly forest without becoming really motion sick :D
When a rally driver can maintain the same speed as before, when the road shrinks to only half as wide as it was, it speaks of a true champion, Kalle Rovanperä.
What a pace!!! Everything was perfect from the start to the end… The first part is scary because of the speed, the second is scary narrow!!! “the time is quite good” he said!!!! How to make it faster??? Incredible performance.
Kalles "pushing like hell" looks so effortless.. he sticks the car in line and keeps it there.. many of the other drivers when they start pushing they start throwing the car and small mistakes starts to creep up into the driving.. one corner goes bit wide, hits bank slightly or something and Kalle just sticks the line and dosent overdo it anywhere. just genious
Yep. Even the likes of Loeb, Ogier, and Neuville will make such mistakes in this kind of roads, or just be not fast enough. Kalle and Tänak are just beasts on them.
IMPRESSIVE! Driving that fast on loose surface and track that is only 1.5 width of the car by mostly trust what the guy next seat is telling. That is high level RAW driving skill.
Fantastic camera here! No ugly narrow FOV, so the quality of the image is good, the straight-line speed looks fantastic and the lateral movements of the car are not exaggerated. It's easy to see how sideways or straight the car is at any moment, due to the normal FOV, but also and most importantly, because the camera is pointing straight! Not towards the left, which can completely ruin the cornering experience as you can't tell if the car is going massively sideways or if it's only the feeling the terrible camera placement creates! I believe the higher placement, compared to the usual one, also makes it even more exciting to watch. And even the quality is much better than usual. I don't know who is in charge of the onboard cameras, but they tend to be, and I'm sorry to say it, incredibly awful. This is fantastic, just like Tänak's dashcam was on this same rally. Keep it like that, _please!_
Never watched this a day before in my life. WOW!!!! ABSOLUTE TALENT HERE! These guys clearly have busted their butts to perfect their craft, study the course, guide the driver on next sections, and handle that car to it's limits!!! I'm a new fan!!!
so many impressive moments, but 3:50 makes my butthole pucker from the sheer speed in that turn... and the entire section between 5:14 and 5:30... yeah, the near crash jump was scary but to then drive the tight forest sections with confidence like that... insane
This is exactly like a Rocket Launch. You see hundreds of rocket launches and it's always breathtaking! You see hundreds of WRC stages and it's always breathtaking!
Indeed. I invite anybody to experience this type of driving on RBR/NGP7, an extremely (and the most) accurate rally simulator. Even after getting some good enough times after hundreds of attempts, being me a player of that game for years, I then remember that those guys drive that precisely, cleanly, and fast without any previous practice, and I can only admire those skills.
Huge respect Kalle and an incredible talent, but can we also just mention the car and how truly amazing this vehicle is too. And in no way is this meant to take anything away from the driver, I think we can all agree how great he is.
My thoughts as well The way it just eats those gigantic kickers is mind bending Rally cars have always been impressive but these modern iterations are absolutely phenomenal
My Datsun 180b back in the day had similar pace. I did have fluffy dice hanging from the rear-view which added 2 hp easy. Jacked up at the back with cross ply's made it stick to the road like no ones bussiness.
New to WRC here. Now I see why Kalle Rovanpera is so revered. He just full sends it but is also smart around corners. His driving reminds me when I do runs in Rally sims... Full send most of the time... But with lots of bumps hahaha!!!

Yes keyboard warriors messing up the scoreboard. Separate them!

I honestly thought the same !!! And i dont know were the idea came from that these guys booth dont know these stages and yes the booth do rec fyi
the navigator did.
....they get navigation runs to make their notes
"I was pushing like hell"
Yes, Kalle, we can clearly see that on this onboard
More effortless than me trying to get chicken nuggets from Mcdonalds drive in..
The pace he had in the narrow forest section made me realize he's a champion
exactly my thoughts
Same here! 👍
Kalle's driving is art.
Same thoughts!!
exactly
That ‘WOOHOO’ from Jonne is hilarious
I think it was Kalle?

His precision and speed through the narrow wooded section is just mind boggling. Absolutely insane to watch!!
its not finland but shares all the elements of rallying at its absolute best. fast, flowing, jumpy, blind corners. peak of motorsport. pleasure to watch.
In Finland there is ditch or rocks in pretty much every corner. In Estonia there is only grass and bushes so drivers can really push their speed
I can never get tired of watching kalle’s onboards
Absolutely ridiculous. Those jumps were crazy! And the ability to take them at an angle to set up for the next corner really shows off how well the suspension and chassis work. He could place that thing on a pinpoint anywhere on the track. Amazing driving.
He's an absolute pleasure to watch drive. So precise and controlled, but at the same time aggressive and confident.
He's a beast!
The onboard everyone was waiting for... where he pushed like hell
"But then, Kalle got this run....."

I've been following motorsport for 25 years, Finnish racers are my favorite - calm face and absolutely crazy😁

This is unbelievably fast !
Why an earth would you but massive hayball there is beyond me... what were they protecting, the field behind??

This is one of the most spectacular onboard videos I have ever seen.
Amazing. Just amazing. A privilege to watch!
This is the best onboard video i have ever seen!! His perfection is crazy
Massive confidence in that car.... He pushes like crazy
One of the best on boards I've ever seen. The driving on display is mega!

Yea... I think it's much scarier sitting as passenger regardless how skilled the driver is. It's something I can relate very much.
The force is strong with this one 💪

Very awesome 👍. Respect for this driving quality.
I think i'm witnessing the becoming of the greatest rally driver ever! I'm in total awe, very second of this run is a highlight!
Amazing. I just wish they would include a speedometer, gear indicator, and throttle and brake inputs. Maybe also a G-meter
I wish they could have live instrumentation like F1 races...
