    Join me today as I take an in-depth look at the latest version of DANTE: Inferno created by Mauro Carvalho with art by Filipe Castro, Bruno Marquez and published by Creative Games Studio.       I agree that part needs to have a more thematic tie. They’ve taken a bunch of feedback in about it and are working on something. Battles are a blast. If they can enhance the Ordeals it’ll be perfect! 👍🏼

    After seeing Shelfside COOK Grimcoven with a score of 5/10, I am checking this game out.
    Do you think its worth it for the boss battler only?

      Reviews on prototypes are pointless lol. Reviewing an incomplete game is like reviewing a movie based on the trailer. So review scores don’t mean anything, just noise. Watch gameplay to see if it’s for you. Don’t base your opinion on someone else’s. You’ll have far less misses that way. In fact, you may never have any again. That’s been the case for me! 😄

      @@RollingSolo Oh I agree with you about watching playthroughs. But the issue is that people are paying with their hard earned money for this game in its current state. You are showing gameplay so you are like Switzerland. But every other Awaken Realms usual sponsored review of the prototype literal said "must buy" "favorite game" and only shelfside was honest about the game shortcomings. It is why I stay away from the usual mouthpieces that say all positive and just focus on your videos instead. Keep up the good work.

    Story Phase looks borring. You fight a wolf and then draw cards to solve maths. What?

    I see the story part is rather unchanged for now, or did I miss something crucial? The Ordeal Maths Problem Minigame still stands? I was hoping this would go before launch, it looks so bothersome and thematically out of place. The Battles on the other hand look awesome.

      The team is actively discussing changes to this mechanic based on feedback, but no definite decision was made because there are also quite a few people that liked it and didn't share the issues that some people (you included) pointed out.

      And that is why I am still on board apart from the great boss fight scenarios, it is so good to feel involved in some way. May I make a suggestion? What I am looking for in narrative games is impactful decision making and the feeling to be free to make some decisions based on, say, some goals I want/need to achieve or, in broad terms, ressources I have available. What I am missing with the ordeals is not the impact, because in the end I have some cards left that influence the upcoming battle. But the way it gets there is far from narrative. Counting cards and doing maths is not what my character or camp would do nartatively or even in an abstract way. The ordeals should not be numbers in the first place, but a (branching) action decision, where I can sacrifice something to gain something. I can count ressources (concrete ones like, say, coin, or abstract ones like, say, courage), I can sacrifice something to mitigate the outcome, maybe via dice, I can push my luck by drawing cards/bags or rolling dice with some possibility of mitigation. I could see action or multi-use cards like in Mage Knight as a way to tackle ordeals or the passage I am in. All these possibilities seem more akin to narrative gameplay than the current system. Maybe it is because my background is in literature, that I want more focus on the narrative gameplay, or my despising of mathematics as a means to tell a story, but that is where I am at and why this is bothering me. And for a game based on literature it should be more literary in every aspect.

      @@robotradar I have a engineering background and I agree with you. The ordeal part seems a bit off although I enjoy doing the math.
