My dream was to work in an industry like this because since I was a kid I’ve been in wires… in our community I was the only kid who knew how wires work .. I wired a lot of houses with control switches connected to batteries and I later joined a Motor rewinding shop and I fell in love with this work ..I was doing a lot with passion because I love electronics.. wow wow wow now I am disabled but Insha Allah it’s gonna happen..My country Ghana is blessed with people with huge knowledges on how most machines work so we blessed ..it’s just the matter of time ❤
Good initiative on the part of the Ghanaian government. The government could probably initiate a Production Linked Incentives Scheme (PLI) for auto components so that local component manufacturers could supply the parts to the vehicle manufacturers making the industry sustainable. The PLI Schemes could then be extended to other manufacturing sectors like cotton textiles, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, iron & steel, railway coaches and engines, semiconductors, etc. This initiative could ensure a developed and self-reliant Ghana.
Local companies dont have the competencies to produce parts for modern cars but the government can try to attract car parts suppliers to Ghana and that will bring those competencies to Ghana, we can quote Bosch, Valeo, etc
I'm proud of Ghana 🇬🇭! This is a great industrial revolution to enhance transportation in Ghana and throughout Africa! Countries like Nigeria 🇳🇬 and others should emulate Ghana.
You're embarrassingly ignorant about the subject matter. Nigeria 🇳🇬 is far ahead of Ghana 🇬🇭 in the automotive industry. Nigeria produces cars, buses, armoured cars, aircraft parts, maritime vessels, etc. The country also exports these auto products to other countries. Research before spewing ignorance.
Why to go Ghana, manufacturing will help to develop you people with great knowledge and skills thus expand the investment in Africa and create wealth and lift the living standard of the population.
I agree. But please post the Google Earth location of where Katanka cars are being made. So I can see it with my own eyes and belief. Here is the Volkswagen plant in Uitenhage's location for comparison. 33°47'09.20" S 25°25'07.85" E
Nana Addo Team has done nothing on this. Don't come here and claim nothing because this company existed before he came to power. Also the previous government use to buy Kantanka vehicles notable was the Amisa Arthur, the late former VP.
I would have preferred public transportation instead of private the vehicles the fumes is too much plus the lack of trees I have not seen any trees that is been planted along the motor ways and what about the car tyres where are those going to be dumped after they car wheel has no more tread are they going to throw into the rivers and ppollute the rivers just like the plastic bags that is everywhere in Ghana now like everywhere else in the world??
What is te difference of car tires from cars produced here or abroad?? Nothing. If the ownwers decide to throw them away or dump them they will do it so or so. Unfortunately to many irresponsible car drivers do so. The same is for plastic bags. You can see it everywhere again and again as if the Ghanaians want to have the most polluted country in Africa. Has nothing to do with car production but with the ignorance of the people here.
Ask the people that leave in Europe that things are so call developed.. guess life is not everything about the flesh wat niice our relationship with God must come first … if the God is not at the center of anything we do the beginning may be sweet but the end will be sour we not learning and we keep not learning..
Both, some were just an auto dealership at first but turned into an assembly plant looking forward to start manufacturing on their own and as we know Kantanka automobiles is already a manufacturing plant
What is the difference between assembling and manufacturing ? The countries you respect can make cars also import the parts made elsewhere and assembly them for you to buy! Get your facts right before opening your ignorant mouth on social media! Pessimism all the time! Witchcraft spirit is the reason why we are unable to move forward! Take your negativity somewhere else! We are trying to build a nation!
First 🥇

Yeah, the public transportation would have been good too..We will get there.🇬🇭
You know our system, giving it to the private sector is the best, more taxing and less corruption

This is 100percent assembly of custom parts already imported. It's not same as manufacturing
