RIP fly at 7:55 Great info in this review! I've been looking at switching up my grip size because i get too tense and there's too much wrist rotation. Thank you!
That fly should've known better. I agree. I wish I had discovered them earlier. My favorite grip right now is the Winn Dritac Lite Oversized. It's the perfect size for me, and I installed it on all of my irons too. What a difference! Lighter grip, easier swing, more distance and consistency. I'll never go back!
I recently got a x stiff shaft driver, and it comes with too small of a grip preinstalled and I cant grab it properly with my index and middle finger, I end up hooking big time for the first range session.
just a fellow nerd here saying that the jumbomaxx have made my old hands feel incredible after 18. LOVEM ! 25 year mechanic/ technician. Sorry to but in on ya. lol
I put it on mine as well. Also a Mavrik. Seemed to not only give me about another 15 yards on average but I am not snap hooking the ball like I was with a regular size grip. I don't think it 'gave' me any yards but the reduced pressure I was putting on my forearms are what is giving me the yardage. It also tended to straighten out my drives which is a plus. If someone has problems with overgripping the clubs then this is a good option to try. I did it first with my driver (medium) and then went with the smalls on the woods and later the 5-9 irons. I have to adjust myself a little with the irons since I went from a hood to a fade with it but my five iron went from 175 max to almost 185 after the switch. My spin rates are better too.
I have very large arthritic hands, I wear a triple xl glove. I am also a senior, I have installed the xl plus 3/8 grips on all of my clubs. I love these grips, as I also having large hands I find it difficult to use the interlocking grip, I have always used the old style Moe Norman baseball style grip. It works well!!
Great review. I’m a newcomer to Jumbo Max Ultra Lite grips. Have them on my irons and played about 8 rounds with them. I’m hitting the ball much straighter and taking a lot more aggressive lines on risky par 3’s and approach shots. They are confidence builders. My glove size is XL but playing the mid size Jumbo Max grips feel right for me. Next up will be installing them on my woods, driver and wedges. So far very happy.
I've been playing jumbomax tour series grips for years now. When this ultra lite grip came out, I bought the whole set. I liked the feel and weight of the grip but it wasn't nearly as tacky as the tour series. I had to go back to the tour series grips. You live and learn I guess.
Ive been using the Winn excel jumbos and love them. Very tacky and comfortable also only weigh like 50 grams but they aren't overly large like jumbo Max
Great video. I am waiting for my JumboMax Grips order to arrive and I just noticed this video, after watching this I am even more excited than when I first heard of these. I wear an XL glove and even the oversized and/or jumbo grips by other manufacturers seem too small. I have high hopes for the JumboMax grips. Thanks for making this video!
Oh, I think you're going to really like it then! Feels great in the hand even as a medium. I think it's going to be a huge relief to have something comfortable without throwing off the swing weight!
sadly i put those grips on my Driver and Fairwaywood ,- on my first round it was raining - i lost 5 balls to the right on the first tee - out of bounds - cause they are slippery as ice . in dry conditions they are wonderful
Peter, I not only LIKED this video but i subscribed. Reason,....well, i just ACCIDENTALLY did the same thing. I bought a bag of clubs from a friend. They were his brother in laws and were left behind when him and the sister moved away. It happened to have a CP2 Jumbo grip on a CALLAWAY X2 HOT in the bag in awesome condition. I have a large hand, and a SIM MAX DRIVER with Standard size grip. I tend to push it a lot to the right, im right handed, and when i tighten up, i sometimes end up overdrawing or hooking. I took the Callaway to the range and hit most shots in the middle or with slight fades. Went golfing Thursday, and hit ALL 14 FAIRWAYS!! Im considering switching them onto my irons. Your take on this?
If you are really doing the proper setup for a single plane swing you should not get a slice with over size grips, you should actually get a slight fade and when you do you will see a 10-30 yd longer drive than what you are getting now.
Make sure you have a good strong grip on your top hand at least two knuckles showing...When I got mine I seem to grip it weaker than I usually did on normal grips ...just had to adjust to the size then everything was good after that alot straighter ....it’s supposed to keep the club face straighter for longer and stop flipping the club ....that’s my take on it ,I’m never going back to skinny grips again.
Great tip, Adam! I'm never going back either. It's funny how many of my friends have tried my clubs because most people don't even think about grip sizes. Over the years, so many of them have gone bigger!
On these grips, the size is written across the top between the two white bands; next to the word “Ultralite” the size will be in red letters. Kinda hard to see the size on his grip in this video, but I think I see “XS” if I freeze frame at about 4:06.
Great question, Scouter! I've wondered the same thing. There are some rules, and I don't know them all, but there used to be a grip with a spine on the bottom so it looked more tear drop. I know you can't have a flat side like on a putter, but I would love to see some innovation in swing grips. I've had several ideas on how it could be improved.
In general, no. The only time I notice it is on the adjustable drivers where the shaft rotates, and in some settings, the seam is in a random position, but once I'm getting ready to hit it, I don't think about it.
It's probably one of the closest legal options. Jumbomax also has a Straight/non taper grip, but it's even a little bigger and would probably feel a lot like an oversized putter grip.
Fascinating. I didn’t know that and it’s funny because I was really weighting my heads but I found that keeping them almost stock (now around C3), I was hitting the driver better. I figured it was because I could accelerate faster but wasn’t sure that it made sense
Don't buy a second shaft. You can remove a grip without destroying it in case you need it later. I guess you have the benefit of easily switching shafts for comparison's sake.
@@billbruggink3681 lots of videos and info if you Google. I've used a coat hanger and grip solvent and removed grips and reused later. You can buy a specialized tool instead of a coat hanger. You can also try blowing them off with an air compressor. I'm just an amateur at it, so takes me quite a bit of work and sometimes not worth it.
@@billbruggink3681 I use an air compressor. Poke an air gun nozzle into the base of the grip (The tiny hole on the butt of the grip), then add air slowly at first and twist the grip to break the seal of the tape, once it spins (whilst using the air), then place a pvc pipe that just fits over the grip (cut it to 3/4 of the length of the grip) place your hand at the bottom of the grip to help trap the air a bit, then open up the air nozzle to full rip and simply pull the grip off... The pvc pipe is used to stop the grip blowing up from over expansion. I can do a grip in under 5 seconds with this method.

Love the video Peter! Always great to see people on TH-cam as excited about all the nerdier parts of golf as I am!

I have a jumbo on my driver and feel my hands and arms are more relaxed in my swing.
Watched quite a few videos on jumbo grips to help me decide..this is the best so far!
I like this guy! full of energy. loves the game! keep it up!
You rock, Ben!
Great review. You explained all I was wondering about. Thanks Panda!
Thanks for watching, Golf Duff!
I love these grips.. they’re easier on my hands and wrists and the draws and fades have less dispersion.
Let's get a grip on this issue. Get it?
Wowie, … loved your insight and articulated opinion. Way to go … now I'm thinking about testing this too with these grips. Cool. Stay metal, Eric.

Thanks much for the great review!
Thanks!!!!
I need a background like yours! Great video, i'm having one put on tomorrow
Cool! I’m going to check out your videos!!!
Curious if you are still using the Jumbomax grips? I was also debating between these and the dri-tac by Winn.
Love the video! You said over exaggeration. Several yards further we use Farther here in the US!
I cringed when I saw that during editing but couldn’t really do anything about it at that point... except let people realize I’m a doof
We use both dude.

I think you'll like em (assuming they're the right size for your hand)! Going oversized is amazing! I'll never go back!
Sounds like you should try a midsize grip my man
What size is the your jumbo grip. I also wear medium so curious what size you bought?

Thanks for doing this video
"Behavioral disorder" 🤣🤣 Don't we all and that's why l am watching you 🤣🤣

Are you using these grips with your new driver?
Great review!!!

You handle that standard grip without a shaft with a lot of experience! Do your friends know?
That’s how I get friends
Why are grips round rather than oval shaped? Racket sports, most tools are oval-shaped. Perhaps there are regulations governing grip shape?

Hey Peter which golf tee are you using? Thanks a lot
Tee box or tees? I play the whites and just regular wooden 3 inch tees
Brushtee

Is that background Touscana CC
It’s Indian Wells! But now I want to check out Touscana.
Did you try the xs? Did it work better the the small?
Yep! I'm using the Str8 Ultralight XS and love it! It's perfect! th-cam.com/video/WL9NXks_BmE/w-d-xo.html
Do these fit in a individual golf bag?
bringing the extra shaft seems like bringing 14.5 clubs....
I cut my putter in half to compensate
Use these on the irons ?
Right now, I'm using Winn Dri Tac Lite Oversized Grips on all my clubs including irons and loving it!
Is this the closest thing to a putter grip
It's probably one of the closest legal options. Jumbomax also has a Straight/non taper grip, but it's even a little bigger and would probably feel a lot like an oversized putter grip.
7:52 RIP in peace to that fly

Bryson has a very upright swing. If you’re gonna go full Bryson. You gotta go upright.
That’s a good point and I’ve noticed the more upright I go, the less draw or fade I have. So... I guess more upright it is!
He also uses woods with really light swing weights.
