There ya go Mark! I've got this too- love it! Just modded some graphics in it recenrtly- so the "drivers" are now really sweet "PS5 Gran Turismo" helmets! We experimented with audio- but turned that off pretty quick..
Great timing system! Can't recommend it enough! Easy to set up and use and it's expandable. I have 2 timing lights for split times and it helps me to tune the car. Let's me see if I lose time on the front or back half of the track. Great video!😁👍🏁
Oh if you have the split times be on the back straight, you could use it for drag racing I presume. Use the on screen starting lights as the Xmas tree? Will it detect false starts?
@@christopherbusch1933 yes you can use it for drag racing or put them closer together for a pit stop racing. Yes it will detect a false start and you can attach a light tower too. Give them a call tell them what you want it to do and they can get it done. GREAT people to work with! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM to everyone! I have a link to their website in my TH-cam channel description! Lol 😁👍🏁
Thank you for this! Helps me figure out what to get. I also read that Race Coordinator supports pit stops? I am hoping if you turn that on, the starting line can also act as the pit stop spot. I'm thinking this could help level the playing field? (Perhaps faster you go, more fuel?)
Thanks for the information on the lap counter system. I've been looking for one like this, I will have to put it in my wishlist. Thank you for the video nice job 👍.
Made my PC lap system from scratch and with free software. Total cost: less than $50 (not including the gas to go pick up the used PC). Bought an old XP machine for $20 on Craigslist (had to boot it with a rescue disk to clean off all the viruses🤣) and ordered some IR photo-transistors, IR LEDs, and a breakout parallel connector online. Those things and 20ft of old recycled CAT5 cable and you're in business. Needed an old PC that has legacy ports and uses IRQs so I could wire up some simple photo-transistor sensors on the parallel port. Works like a charm. There are a number of free slot car timing software packages available, most are fairly basic but a few are very feature rich and a couple even manage complete racing events. They can be configured for all kinds of I/O and sensor inputs. Viasue has a nice system but it's a little pricey for what you are actually getting. I've always been a fan of open systems vs proprietary systems but I'll admit that the usb feature is pretty convenient for those who aren't tech savvy and it lets you use a modern PC.
I am all about modern conveniences...lol. For me it was money well spent. I am an IT guy and had a spare laptops not being used. Very cool that you were able to put together the system you did.
Thanks for this video. Sorry to be a pain with so many Q's. So this is the "SLOTCAR TRACK 15" AFX LAP COUNTING TIMER 4LANE P&P USB SYSTEM"? Going further down the slot car rabbit hole........ahhhhhhhh The website does not have much on there right now.
Yes, it's from Viasue, you can get the system from them off of eBay as well. Hmm you are right, I just checked their site and not much is listed, I have never seen it not available...odd.
I don't use that system any longer, I have TrackMate now on my Viper track. I don't recall the Race Coordinator software giving a MPH but I have a buddy who uses it, I will ask him and get back to you. Thanks.
The clips came with the barriers, I got them from Viperscaleracing.com. They come in several different heights from 1 inch up to 4 inches, mine are the 3 inch size.
You can go with infrared sensors as well if it is the light that bothers you? My Viper track is infrared. Or is it just the bridge in general that you don't like?

Great video Mark! I am not ready quite yet, but will order soon.🏁
It's a great system! you will be very happy when you get it.
it does that in case you have a car jump lane it is called a runner it will not count that lap

Thanks Al, glad it was helpful.
I have one of these. It's a great timing system.
Jack should ALWAYS WIN!
Not sure what Jack has to do with the Viasue lap counter, he is not even in this video but thanks!

You can also use the space bar to pause and restart races
Thanks Kevin! That will come in handy.

Hi, is there a way to calculate MPH with this software, if so, where do I go ?

What kind of clips did you use to hold your retaining walls in place?
The clips came with the barriers, I got them from Viperscaleracing.com. They come in several different heights from 1 inch up to 4 inches, mine are the 3 inch size.
Thank you!
👍👍😎🇺🇸
It's that stupid little light bridge that kills it for me. I don't want that on any of my tracks.
