sir, is there any method to synchronize our phone to hard drive? Like everyday we may take some pctures or install an application to our phone. So that case we can have any method to synchronize to HDD or SSD what have been added each day?
Hello, sakitech!! I needed to comment because I just love the way you explain things!! You make a person like myself who is 71 years old and not at all tech savi understand and do things in my phone that no one else has been able to do in TH-cam!! You are the most amazing person in youtube!! I actually teach my other senior citizens friend how to do all the things you teach us and they ask me how I know so much about phones but I never tell them I learn it all from you!!! hahahah! God bless you my friend and please, keep doing these Samsung videos and keep them easy to understand them like you always have! Tony
I own Samsung T7 1TB drives for a while and do regular backups. I also use Sandisk USB-C memory sticks and use some to copy data. Since the internal storage is fast and microSD slower, expandable memory is not common these days on top end phones. Also helps reduce cluttering storage space.
Can you do a video on backing up Google photos? Google is telling me I need to buy more storage or I won't get email or have any photo storage. Would like to put all photos on a drive and delete photos on Google so I don't have to pay for storage
Very helpful video, I'm doing a backup right now... I have a question though... when I get a new phone, during the first setup it asks if I want to transfer data from my old phone with Smart Switch, can I use the backup from the SSD instead from the old phone ?
thank you sakitech for this excellent video, i would like to ask you if i can backup multiple samsung devices to the same ssd drive and how can I tell which backup archive is for the specific phone?
@sakitech thanks in the samsung members section it says you can back up secure folder ..but not able to restore. From samsung members Secure folder cannot be moved to hard drive ssd.
Greatly appreciate you for sharing your expertise. I recently purchased the 2T Samsung SD. Can you kindly let me know if this device will mirror all the data from my phone, similar to a phone-to-phone transfer?
I bought the 2TB version of the same SSD on Sakitech's advic e to backup everything from my 1TB S23 Ultra phone. I have never seen a faster data transfer rate in my life. My phone's backup size was 341GB and when I first plugged in the Samsung SSD and selected everything in the backup, it said it would take 20+ hours to complete t he backup. I started the backup and very soon, the remaining time started to come down. In the end the full backup (341 GB) took only 46 minutes to complete as opposed to the original 20+ hours.
sir, is there any method to synchronize our phone to hard drive? Like everyday we may take some pctures or install an application to our phone. So that case we can have any method to synchronize to HDD or SSD what have been added each day?
Hello, I'm not very knowledgeable about these sort of things. The Samsung cloud will automatically delete data that isn't backed up? But the files of the local storage will still be intact right?
Why does this Samsung Smart Switch need all these permissions to backup my own phone to my own device. Call logs, microphone ( really ?) my calendar, my contacts, nearby devices, photos and videos and my text messages. I'm only backing up my own info, NO NEED FOR ANY PERMISSIONS TO ANY OUTSIDE ENTITY... B.S. It's a no for me. The issue is there is no other way for me to backup my phone to an external drive or PC locally, without this "Samsung Smart Switch" and all these permissions
Why do I keep getting my music duplicates everytime I get a new phone? And everytime it folds over to quads 4X's and 8X's. And the thing is, I can't delete the right ones cause I have a playlist with the same song on different list, so i might accidentally delete the wrong one if I want to save storage. Very frustrating! I do have the do not duplicate on when transferring to the new phone but does not apply to music file's! Also, somewhere with all the updates, Samsung music doesn't play WMA file's anymore so I can't play 100's of songs!
You are terrific, Sak....when I purchased my Apple Macbook Air M1 chip, I purchased the Seagate brand 1tb for this computer. Haven't used yet. Since this is Samsung, would it be wise to purchase just for my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra? I think that would be wise. Any suggestions? Thank you, as always....🥰
Hi! I came across your TH-cam channel today. Can you tell me the best way to access photos/videos from SDHC mini cards; and have it display on my Samsung Galaxy S8??? Thanks. I'm not a techy....at all!! lol😅
Wait! Samsung T7 and T7 Shiel will not let you backup when your phone are using SD card. There are no setup that let you choose where to Backup phone. I Have Samsung S20 with SD card and it only let you Backup to SD card. Does it only work when you're using internal storage? Thanks for always giving great 👍
Thanks again Saki' as your tutorial re Samsung Backup/Restore video "Hit a Nerve" with me. A Finesse point; I did a subsequent Backup that went much faster than first. Do subsequent backups only register "New" data?
Mine is taking longer....it's backing up 37 gb of data and I'm doing it on a Samsung sd card. I would prefer it if Samsung just gave us an iCloud of sorts lol...That's pretty convenient. Actually they do but not as good. We could use Microsoft One Drive but that doesn't save settings.
Hello, Can I use different devices on one 1T ssd? I have: Tab S7 and S23 Plus on the same account. Bouth approx 60Gb of data. Can you separate the back-ups? Kind regards, Steve
Hi Sakitech, if I get a Samsung T7 SSD drive to back up my Samsung S22 do I then need to continue having a Google 1 Drive account for backup? I enjoy watching your TH-cam videos from Australia. Thanks Greg :)
I've backed my phone up to my Samsung T7 2TB drive but when I try to restore data to my phone through smart switch it says there is no data to restore but it is there so how do I restore from external drive rather than copying it to pc then restoring it ?
Always back your phone data. About a year ago I backed up my samsung phone onto a USB thumb drive. a few weeks later I lost my phone. I got a replacement phone and restored my phone's info onto my new phone. I restored all my contacts, pictures, apps. etc.
When choosing “Everythjng” does this literally cover everything? Aside from the obvious photos & contacts, what about (Browser/app passwords, bookmarks, history…)? Will this backup create a replica of the phone on another device? I’m planning to leave iPhone to Samsung with my next phone upgrade. The ability to do back ups and restores on Samsung is stressing me out. And I am not talking about the transition. I got that covered. The cloud option with Samsung don’t do a full back up. And the cloud storage through google is quite tedious with multiple steps involved. And I’m not even sure how fully inclusive it is.
It keeps asking for '2-step verification' rather than send a code to my number it wants to send it to my phone that was stolen... How to is that safer than a password
You didn't mention that when you restore, it will ask you for a Samsung account to restore the data. I faced this issue, and as a result, not all data was restored.
@@neiliewheeliebin tx for your response. All permissions are OK. I changed password also. It goes to 2 step verification & when the code is entered it goes back to sign in and back again to 2 step verification. Basically it keeps just going full circle.
I tried doing this but the backup stopped and I got this message. I have a bunch of photos on this 1 TB drive and I can't format it. What should I do? cant backup your data. there's a problem with your external usb device. try formatting or replacing it.

Can yo use a pc to backup?
@sakitech Can you use your Samsung phone to organize the hard drive, or do you still need a PC to do that?
Just found this video. Very helpful. I don't like the idea of backing up online and this just put all my concerns at ease.
So very helpful, going to use it as soon as possible. Thanks so much 😊
