Wow thank you so much for this video. I wrote these down. How is your first year going and recruiting? Are classes enjoyable and does Rice give a lot of homework?

Of course! My first year is going well. Classes are much earlier this semester sadly, so that means waking up at 5:30AM classes due to the time difference... The first year is pretty much all your core business classes, which are standard. We can take a few electives which personally, I find the most enjoyable :) Second year is all elective classes.
In terms of your first year, Rice doesn't give out a lot of homework that you have to turn in, but rather they give you assigned readings and practice problem sets each class and it is up to you whether or not you want to do it. However, there can be weekly quizzes over the material. There is a LOT of group projects though (ex. 1 case per week in some classes), your group will be assigned to you for your entire first year. Luckily, I have a really great team!
Unlike my fellow classmates, I actually will not be recruiting for a summer internship. Right before the MBA started, I received an unexpected offer at one of my dream companies. Currently, I work enough hours to be able to continue my full time position in the summer.

For a virtual interview do you have to dress up formally?

Yes! Still dress up business casual (at least from the top up) as if you were going for an in person or job interview :)

No, in fact my first time visiting Texas was for the MBA Admit weekend haha.
