I ran home from the toy store with my 1979 Kenner Alien in the bag after mom caved and gave me the $20 to get it... I think it was November of '79. I was so mind-crapping excited that I had to stop on the way back, open the top of the box and touch the dome, I even remember the beginning of rain drops landing on it a little before I resumed my crazed run back to mom's store. Best toy day ever.

Alien will always have a special place in my heart since that was going to be my very first R rated movie i was going to see as a kid when it came out (but chickened out the day or 2 before going after reading the comic and seeing the chest burster lol) I also owned that Kenner doll along with the Kenner board game which is also worth a lot of dough now. Ughhhhh!!!
Absolutely. And graded, too. The box looks great. And if it's original sealing, even better. There were apparently 'Goldilocks' finds of Kenner shipper boxes, each stuffed with 6 brand new in box 18" aliens. Imagine finding one!
I got one for Christmas in 1979 when I was 6 years old, but my mom took it back to the store because I got scared of it at night. A decision I would regret a few years later after I finally saw the movie on vhs. I did reacquire one in the box in 1990 from a collectable toy dealer. It's not just a toy but a work of art. It's my most prized collectable.
Hello Bella I remember that figure coming out by Kenner Toys which that really did surprise me for Kenner Toys coming out with that figure even still the movie was Rated R

You are amazing. I got the Alien figure for Christmas in 1979 and I played with it all the time. Once again another beautiful video of your toy CHEST. Never disappointed.

Great video. I've recently gotten all the super 7 line and my Kenner 79 in the bod is the gem. Just got the viewer as well. Its charming. Just gotta get the boardgame. Wanted em since 79 when I held one at the toy store. Amazing recap.
That graded alien in the box is amazing!! These new ones were put out by Super7 and are awesome too. They are supposed to be the alien from the second movie Aliens but done like the 1979 toy. That’s why it looks a little different. You’ll notice that the shoulders and arms are different from the original Alien. I have this and it’s definitely one of my favorites. Great video thanks
The new ones seen here are somewhat remakes, they altered the mold of the 70s Xenomorph from ALIEN to make the 86 version of the movie sequel, ALIENS. That is why they don't have a dome, since in ALIENS they don't have domes. My mom had bought me the 70s figure when I was about 3 years old. Obviously I didn't see the movie and I also had a big Godzilla figure from the Shogun Warriors collection. As my parents began getting me the Masters of the Universe toys, I would play with these as if it was Godzilla vs a Kaiju. When I was about 7yrs old I started to feel afraid of the look of the figure and I eventually gave it to a cousin of mine (yeah that was dumb) and a year later I saw ALIEN for the first time on TV broadcast...I became traumatized and I hadn't even gone past the Chestburster scene which was what messed me up. I eventually saw ALIENS and though still scarred I never realized that the monsters were the same as my old figure, till I saw part of the last part of ALIEN and saw the grown Xenomorph well and was glad I gave my toy away (again, stupid, yes). Eventually in High school, another cousin of mine who was and is an ALIEN(S) super fan asked me to draw a Xenomorph for him. I hated the idea but I was developing my art and I realized that the Alien was very detailed. Since then, I somewhat overcame my trauma, became a fan, collected figures till this day, and I still hit myself for not having this figure nor its remake by Super 7.
That is absolutely beautiful I had the pleasure of owning one a couple years ago unfortunately I got rid of it I regret it to this day it was meant in box never opened
I just picked up the NECA 40th anniversary edition Big Chap Alien in the Retro style Kenner packaging! I would love an original vintage figure in box but there is no way I’m paying those prices.
the green, bronze and black are not remakes of the original 79 kenner. they are alien warriors from the 2nd movie aliens. that is why there is no dome. Gentle Giant did release a kenner-inspired alien that looked exactly like the original, but it stood 24 inches tall.
Im glad to see that you know something about Captain Action! He was my first action figure. So glad I found your site! You and Cigar Vixen are now my two favorites! Would like to sit and talk action figures and toys with you sometime! Hugs hon!

I've been on a huge Alien kick lately and have been watching a lot of videos about the Kenner Big Chap figure. I'm not really a collector or anything, but the figure is awesome. Anyway, the algorithm sent me here and with the clothing choice I was wondering whether there was a bit of a double entendre at play here with the name of the channel. The banner on the channel homepage removed any doubts I might have had.
Cool alien most of the original alien toy line the big ones were pulled of shelves and put at bargain bin prices and the rest didn't come out till super seven brought them out
I had an original when I was 10, a gift from my uncle. I'd have my full-size G.I. Joes and Luke Skywalker, and Chief Cherokee, fight it. My younger sister was terrified of it. My best friend was also scared of it, so he punched it and it's head broke off.
5:03 oh I can understand why they did it without the dome and with that color! Because is the one from Aliens not Alien. is the warrior xenomorph in the same Big Chap style.
The one without eyes and full head carapace actually represents the slightly different Xeno seen in the 1986 film Aliens, hence it saying Aliens on the box and not Alien (singular). I much prefer the graceful head design of the original instead of the later films version.
The later ALIENS are from the second film. Notice the hands and lack of a dome. James Cameron changed the look of the creatures for his movie. There was a 24 inch version of the original ALIEN that came out and retailed for $500.00 dollars (I have one and it's huge). The box is lacking the picture of the little boy playing with the toy as seen on the first ALIEN by Kenner. A facsimile box was produced by a guy in Rome, N.Y., to house the original toy from 1979. Which was great since most collectors (like me) had lost their original box over time. It also comes with the red inner cardboard liner to support the toy. It looks pretty good and retailed for about $75.00 dollars.
@@BellasToyChest www.replicatorboxesandinserts.com is selling the ALIEN box and red insert for 40 bucks (British Sterling), don't know what that is in US bucks. Anyways, he makes Star Wars boxes primarily, but he's very helpful and gets right back to me whenever I have a question. So I recommend him if you still need a box for your ALIEN figure !
The reason why the newer aliens there don't have the domes or skull eyes is because as the boxes show they're from the sequel Aliens. The first one or Big Chap, always had the dome & skull eyes, but when it came to the sequel they didn't want the domes to crack & they removed the eyes because you really couldn't see it in the movie anyways so that's why. After the unexpected success of Star Wars, toy companies were looking for the next big thing to cash-in (in hindsight, Star Trek The Motion Picture wasn't a good deal for Mego 😃). I wish I had a toy chest. I'd have more subscribers. I do have an 18" Kenner Alien closeup clips, him and the box and insert in an Art of Alien H R Giger book vid in which I point out that the box logo is the egg silo shape a Giger design that wasn't used until Prometheus (deep cut only a true fan would know), and the Kenner Alien board game vids. As it stands I had two of something. Two Kenner Aliens. I sold one to a very appreciative Alien fan. It's nice to know it went to someone who knew something about it and appreciated it on that level. The other one I have is in a box with the poster insert. The box is beat up. I got it for $400 from an old lady who was closing up her long time comic book shop 12 yrs ago. I went in to pay my respects. Saw a Kenner Alien in the case. Told her I had one. Asked how much it was and if she had the box I'd buy it. It was her last one. She took it out of the case and under the foot the sticker said $500 but she said I told you 4 so I'll sell it for 4. turns out my friend who owned a used record store bought one of her's back in 1979 when they knew they were being pulled from store shelves. It was his I had seen in his store earlier that made me track down my own. The price sticker on my box says sporting goods dept and without looking it's under $20. So sporting goods means they were trying to hide it when a mom or two complained that it was too scary for kids. thanx mom. she was probably a collector driving up the price. Ironically the kids in the photos look like they're having the time of their lives playing with it. It's good to have a holy grail collectible. and yeah I am an Alien colelctor so it's just not that. I have bakers racks and sterilite containers. Not a huge chest. But if you do. Might as well use it.

@@BellasToyChest NO, NO! I had moved out of my folks home and one day my mom had asked if I was going to take all the toys I had in my old closet or could she give them to my aunt who had just adopted my cousin. Not thinking about what I still had in the closet I said, Yea! You can give all the toys to her. Well, well! A few years later I started to work at Forbidding Planet in NYC and started to get into the toy collection vibe and realized my mistake in giving them away. I went to visit my aunt and cousins for the holiday and asked about my old Alien figures? My cousin Fred said hold on, he went to his dresser drawer and pulled out the head of one of them. They had been destroyed by them both. When I cousins got them, they were still in the boxes. I always put my toy box in there boxes with instructions and all still do the same as a collector now if I plan on selling them sometime down the road. But no :( their dead in some landfill in NY.

And kids weren't scared it was parent's who had a problem with something they didn't understand all they knew it was an R-rated movie. Wow i love your aliens. Bella
Thank you. Bella💋
Damn I want those
Yeah, the toys are awesome too.
Are the legs and arms well articulated? Or just very stiff
No not at all. Bella💋
U got 420 likes now 👌
LOVE THIS!!
Great figures. Love all these.
Wow that 79 alien is beautiful, it honestly is kinda scary, how did you get all of them?
I want to see that Supergirl in the background
Might as well use it.

can you explain what you mean by graded? I have one of these and that in-box one you have is graded 75, mine must be like a 25.
It goes by the condition of the item the same way the do coins or comics. Bella💋
Great video Bella! I have an original Alien in the box as well. Where did you acquire the plastic box you have it stored in?
I don't know what children didn't want to play with these? My brother and I had one and then I ended up with two because my brother was two years older and fell out of his toy playing phase.
Victor Vazquez that’s awesome you guys had them and had the awesome opportunity to play with them as kids, the big question is do you still have them? Bella💋
Victor Vazquez I’m sorry that really sucks I’m sad for the toys😕 Bella💋💋
@@BellasToyChest The new one that they have with no skull I just order 2 of those off of BIGBADTOYSTORE which has them on pre-order special 69% of right now. I order one for my Bestie and one for me but notice the bronze one to so might go back and order that one too.
This are supposed to be based on the sequel. The head doesn’t have the skull.
No dome because this is the warrior alien from the sequel aliens in 1985
Awesome thank you so much for sharing that. Bella💋
Bella do you have any of the 24" Gentle Giants? I just ordered the Glow in The Dark version.
Damn. Bella’s 🔥.
Awesome!
Love the top coordinating with the theme! Have you tried Alien Isolation? It’s pretty good! 😎🙌🏻 also that original toy is pretty sick! Love it!!! Great video!
Thank you and I have never heard of that before. Bella💋
@@BellasToyChest alien isolation is a survival horror game that puts you in the shoes of Ripley's daughter Amanda and there's also some downloadable content where you can play as sigourney herself or Parker or Dallas
Her collection makes me jealous
Bryan Bree . Your super sweet Bryan thank you. Bella💋
Same response from me if I had that Alien's view! 2:18
How many of you were actually paying attention to the alien?
@2:18 Good lord I saw that coming as soon as you put him down. That expensive used-to-be-pristine piece dropped in value so-to-speak. Love the tight spaghetti strap matching green presentation but c'mon you know better than that. Unless you were trolling us and you knew that was goign to happen and wanted a reaction. And kids weren't scared it was parent's who had a problem with something they didn't understand all they knew it was an R-rated movie. They apparently (pun inside that word intended) didn't ask their kids what they thought of him. Kenner stopped short of doign the 3-3/4" figures as a result. They did sell a hand cranked movie viewer and board game.
Fun Stuff . Nope didn’t plan that at all I had to get an arm repair kit to fix him I was so mad at myself his all better now good as new . I hope you enjoyed the video other then that. I’m doing a live video tomorrow at 7pm if you care to join in . Bella💋
Gimme that green alien lol i see you bella with the belly shirt
WeRPopp'N . Love the green one as well he’s super cool. Bella💋
