This was really helpful! I just did my first orc ever. I made my own wash (using nonpigmented ink) but I really like how you sprayed the figure with gloss before doing the wash. I felt like I got a better result. Thanks for the great video!
Awesome! Very nice looking job Jeff. I'll be watching for your other Bone videos. My Kickstarter Bones models are apparently on their way to me soon, and I am soooooo excited to get my grubby little hands on them.
great video! i like the overall finished look. only thing is i think the shield looked better before getting painted. that grey black style gave it a more serious look :/...now it looks like caramel. ;) i might wanna get into this hobby. i got several miniatures for my games that would love to get painted. cheers.
Great video! New to tabletop games and decided to get into painting miniatures and Bones are the most available at my local gaming store and this is probably the best tutorials I have found so far! :) Thanks so much for these! I do have a question, do you use a magnifying mirror/glass to paint these especially the teeth and eyes?
When I paint the teeth and eyes I take OFF my glasses, as I see awesome up close with out them. I also have an optivisor that I use when I don't feel like moving my glasses on/off.
This is awesome. Love it. (video tip! just a little music, and show off the results at the end. with all of them standing together would be awesome! i cant tell the difference between the techniques you used. but HELL YEAH, THEY LOOK AWESOME!)
What do you use to prime your bones minis? I have some Army Painter, but the Reaper site says to prime with Reaper primers. (But that Army Painter is a good alternative)
I've used a lot of different primers on my Reaper Bones, but what I'm digging the most is the new primers from Badger called Stynylrez. It is made for the airbrush, but you can brush it on in a pinch as well.
Good vid! I just started getting into painting and was wondering if you know of a way to make homemade bases for your bones? I live about an hour away from my hobby store and if there's an alternative, I would kill for it!
Jonathan, As thrifty as I am, I have yet to find an easy, cost effective way to make my own bases. I've seen Gale Force 9 at GenCon and Origins conventions and they had big bins of wooden bases, but unless you had a hole saw drill bit and some of that material pegboard is made of.... hmmm..
I used an oil shade for the first time a few days ago. The paint didn't disperse on the model, it kind of clumped up and looked very gritty. any suggestions?
***** nah, I put a coat of Pledge floor shine down. I have no idea, man. It ran over the model nice but the paint itself rested together, it didn't disperse evenly.
I've started painting as a means of therapy to deal with my depression. Thanks for making your videos, I'm learning a lot.

Would've been nice to actually see a side by side comparison
The finished product looks amazing! Gotta go round up some orcs and try this!
Thanks for watching Rob!
Good stuff. I really like your bases. Please do a video on that, if you haven't already. Thanks
look at Jeff pumping out videos :)
Looks great! I'm doing orks soon so this helps
Nice one Jeff. The dip method is awesome , but soooooooo messy!

Nice tutorial. I love the oil wash, but I'm very impatient. The dry time irks me. :)
good tutorial mate
Dusted how? With an airbrush? What sort of airbrush do you like?
This is awesome. Love it.

workin on the music thing. I've got a lot more music choices than back when i did this vid. Thanks for the suggestion and for watching!
Awesome to see your still around!
Oh man, I'm waiting!

+Jonathan Breckenridge 1" washers with a 3/8" or smaller hole and use hot glue/paste to blend the base.
Hey Jeff what paint did you use to prime the mini ??
is the paint thinned on the base coats or is it straight out of the bottle?
For P3 paints, I used thinned paint built up in multiple layers. With Model Air paints you CAN paint straight out of the bottle.
What size brush did you use?
I used an oil shade for the first time a few days ago. The paint didn't disperse on the model, it kind of clumped up and looked very gritty. any suggestions?
+Blake Piercy Is it possible you forgot to gloss coat after you put your base colors down? I've done that before.

"work complete". Hah! What a great memory.

Do I sound drunk?
