@pilotjoe4010 why would you, a rational, reasonabke adult, knowing religion is a scam, choose to not be victimized and yet still hold onto the tenets of the scam?
Which is the problem with Protestantism. Anybody can become a pastor. In the Orthodox and Catholic Church, you need to study for years in order to be a priest making it would be a waste of time if you just wanted to scam people. Especially the Orthodox Church, where you have to be chosen by the bishop himself in order to become a priest and have that kind of authority. In Protestantism you could literally, as you’re doing now, question if the leader is even religious.
The fact that his last name is "Regalado" is even funnier 🤣 In Spanish "Regalar" means "to gift", and "Regalado" means "has been given"... What a fitting contrast to what he has done 🤣
This perfectly describes my ex, who wants to be a pastor, of all things !!! He was all the things he should not have been. He was a terrible person who did not represent the Lord at all through his actions and words, and he never took accountability for ANYTHING, things he was literally at fault for, and blamed me for them instead. Nothing at all like how a Christian should act. He was 100% a false prophet. And I really tried too. I tried to be the best example of a Christian that I could be when I dealt with all of that, and I continue to do so to this day. A real, true Christian will always try to have and show the "fruits of the spirit" to others around them. I always want and try to do that.

@Xamry Thanks for the pfp compliment. Second all Churches are tax free meaning all money collected by the church can't be taxed. My bet is since he made this Crypto himself he is expecting that since it was church money he did not commit a crime since no taxes would be placed on it. Which is why he said he took the money. If only members of his church donated then he could claim it was for the church. It would be like Kenith Copeland saying he needs those private jets. Church members donated to the church so legally he can say it's for the church to write of as a tax deductible business expense.
This is why people see religion as a joke. This is why I struggled to see religion as anything but a joke. Like no, God didn’t tell you to steal all that money. You just did a horrible thing and now you can’t handle the guilt, but instead of taking accountability and facing the consequences of your actions, you just delude yourself into thinking “Well I only did it because God told me to.”

As a Christian, it’s sadly not surprising that these things continue to happen. The Word of Faith and Prosperity gospel movements are a scam through and through. People continue to buy into these things because they simply believe them when they say “God told me…”
the prosperity gospel is one of the most insidious things I've ever heard of. It's straight up -praying- preying on the most vulnerable people in their congregation.. people that could probably *_really_* use that money that they're so generously [and foolishly] giving away :/
My family and I are religious and we have left churches before because we didn’t agree with things the pastors did. It was never illegal stuff like what this guy did, but still bad enough to where we’d look at other churches. It baffles me that people will see their pastors admit to literal crimes and somehow still support them.
That would imply some fault on his part, rather than completely dumping the blame on god. Of course he trusts god, god is the ultimate power of goodness and whatever, so him "doing what god told him", as a pastor, absolves him of any fault. If he was tricked by the devil, that means he is a ridiculous fool, and that he has associated with the devil, intentionally or otherwise
As a Christian I can add on that people like this are deliberately evil. A pastor has to deliberately neglect their relationship with God in order to become this delusional and overall horrid. It's even worse because they then pass on their deluded relationship to the people who attend Church. I don't even go to Church because in my opinion there's no reason to. I stay home and do Bible study myself everyday, no church needed.
Not only did he have the nerve to say that God put him onto crypto...he also went on to imply that God (The Omniscient One) has an accuracy of about 50%. I foresee a fair bit of smiting in his future.
I'm starting to wonder if maybe this is some sort of genius legal loophole..? Like what if the law is written such that finding him financially responsible would require proving intent, and so he claimed that his actions were made on nothing but blind faith, in the process providing a viable defense for himself. Actually this raises an interesting question. If you profit on a scam, and then pay taxes on that scam, but those taxes are the stolen funds of victims, how does that get unwound? If they are forced to, and succeed in, repaying the victims of the scam, do they later get a tax credit for the amount that they paid on the original tax obligation? Or does Uncle Sam just get some extra cash at their expense as punishment for their financial misdeeds?
I went and saw family in Georgia two years ago. That side of the family is big into church so we went along with them. There was an older couple there talking about how much of a financial struggle they are in and how they had to use a bunch of their money for medical bills. And then as soon as the tithe hat comes along they dump all the money they have with them into it…
Taking advantage of people's faith is so, so low. No respect for other people as human beings, no respect for things that are sacred, no respect for society. I'm not even religious and it still makes me angry when this happens. Anyone willing to do this is a menace to society because their lack of morals is dangerous. It's especially sad that the people who are more vulnerable to this kind of scam are usually older, going through a difficult situation, and/or just generally in a position where this loss of income will harm them more than average. It's the scammers who need to be shamed, not the victims.
It's equally sad that this guy dares to even call himself a Christian. Any real Christian worth their salt would know that God favors the meek (see Mathew 5:5 to know what I'm talking about), not the rich. Not to mention the obvious commandment (thou shalt not steal).
I agree because I know people who turned to crypto in the hopes of gaining money due to financially struggling. It's just sad that there are predators that are taking peoples money for themselves. It just makes me sad to see when this happens as I feel bad for the people who were hoping to be financially secure and instead have probably fallen into more despair.
@The-Supreme-Leader no doubt you just doxxed some poor dude, also, saying “come at me” doesn’t make you a tough guy when it’s in a fucking TH-cam comment xD
i never understood religious trauma (grateful that my parents never enforced it) until uni, where my roommates would tell me the amount of people that do anything for religion. can be monetary, submissive, or predatory.
I grew up in purity culture, and they'd push us kids so hard to get baptized. The youth ministers wife yelled at me for refusing baptism at 16 cause I had been SAed and stalked, so I was dealing w a lot. She literally said, "So what, everyone has problems, and they get baptized." Like WTF. I ended up moving out of my parents' house that summer. then that church tried to put my brother into conversion camp when he got forced out. Thankfully, my parents let me take him since I was the 1 that raised him anyway. My cousin was baptized at 5. What sins does a 5 yr old have? Funny, tho cuz that cousin came to live w me as well after he came out. Actually, all of my cousins refuse to be a part of any religion now.
I had one teacher who said that gay people and atheists cause plague and natural disasters. My queer ass genuinely thought I was secretly evil for years. It's awful.
I genuinely hate when that kind of thing happens. Being Christian should be a choice only you can make, not forced upon. Hell, Jesus's best disciple was a skeptic of all things! If someone like that became Christian, then people should have every reason in the world to try and nurture that thought process. That's also why I hate when people go and baptize their newborn children. They're literally too young to make that kind of choice! Sorry for the rant, but as someone who's Christian by choice, it bugs me that some don't get to choose on their own.
@@SaintShion I am so sorry you and your cousins went through that. I hope things are better for you and your family now and know that God would have never wanted that for his children 😢
Evil people like this dude taking advantage of others under the pretense of God's message is literally the oldest scam in the book. What a sad situation, and I hope he gets his comeuppance
Said comeuppance will most likely will come from God. Personal experience says He'll get it when nobody's looking (or everyone will chalk it up to chance) and he'll end up broke, or the Justice system might actually do it's job and properly punish, thus God wouldn't need to lift a finger. Worst case scenario is the Justice system finding him innocent, but that just leads back the first option. I definitely feel you, though. It does suck that this kind of thing happened in the first place, but vengeance belongs to God and God alone. Even if it takes a while, this guy will eventually get what's coming to him.
Thank you for waking a lot of people up to how big of an issue this shit actually is. There are people who are falling for this, and thats concerning. Society needs help

No i dont believe these are True god worshippers... because if they were, they would know that you have to face the consequences of your deeds. And taking money from people to ease your own life isnt justified. But i do feel like this IS the work of god, in a sense that itll wake alot of people up. That the religion Christians been following, has been like this for centuries. Look at the vatican, mega churches, churches in general. Its a wolf in sheeps clothing, pretending to be holy, just so they can abuse naïve people who dont learn from history. And some people tbh, deserve to be taken advantage of. Its how the world works. A tiger isnt going to let a gazelle just run away because hes a good guy. No... the gazelle have to learn, n stay in groups to protect the little ones. Because the tiger has to eat. And you can whine, complain, cry, or do worse things, but people know there are plenty of dirty people in this world. So better prepare and learn! Much strength to all of you, i wish you a blessed n lovely Day! Stay humble, n do as much good as possible! But sometimes, dont forget... doing good is doing nothing, dont fall for these tricks!
