An important thing I think to consider in Kisame vs Roshi is that Kisame not only has a kit well suited to fighting tailed beasts and Jinchuriki because of his chakra stealing abilities but against Roshi and son goku specifically I believe his water style would be very effective at battling against their lava. So I would say you could boil it down to a bad match up for Roshi and potentially scale him even higher in terms of raw power.

Another great video! Yeah, I have mad respect for Hanzo. I would love to see a What if on Hanzo not listening to Danzo and instead letting the Akatsuki join his ranks to make the Rain Village better. How would that effect the Naruto storyline? 1 outcome is that Danzo will be furious that his plan to distabalize the Rain Village would fail and 2, the Hanzo will now have someone with the Rinnegan aiding him. Hanzo is extremely powerful and I would be surprised if anyone questioned that. I mean as you mentioned and as we know, Hanzo's strength diminished over time due to not keeping up with his training. If he kept his strength up and trained successors, then perhaps the Rain Village could have risen to be recognized as a 6th Great Shinobi Village. I mean based on his level of strength, he was well on the way to making his village join the top 5 nina villages.
I really think we need to consider the skillsets of Kisame and Roshi and why Kisame likely low-diffed Roshi. After all, lava is simply liquid rock, and when it comes into contact with water, it cools rapidly into igneous rocks. So it stands to reason that part of why there was such a gap between them is that Kisame was just the worst matchup in the akatsuki for Roshi, as well as having enough chakra to produce enough water to make that weakness an actual viable strategy to take Roshi down.
Minato's oneshot literally takes the tattered remains of any understanding of power in Naruto and uses it to wipe its feet while desperately trying to explain questions people had several years ago. I would say it also nerfs tail beasts but they have, with the expection of nine, been made into kittens to anyone with a name.
Hey Nick, love your work and everything but you do know that the person who saved Naruto when kurama was raging out against pain was Minato right? Kushina didn't show up until Naruto fight kurama to gain control of him and use Jin cloak
Id love to see you doing a power level tier list with ordering I feel like itd be interesting and engaging for you to look at all the lore and figure out how it fits them all
Haven't finished the video yet so I don't know if Nick mentions it but I always assumed Hanzo was so great and feared was not because he could split mountains in half with chakra mechs or had any big flashy jutsu but it was simply because he could flood entire battlefields in poison. Everyone who needs to breathe would just be paralyzed and left for dead. His poison isn't just airborne either as we know it also sticks to objects so even if you hold your the moment you lick your lips you'd be poisoned. There's also the part he has to play safe too since he probably has allies around the battlefield and doesn't want them getting affected. Poison has been used to take out people way stronger than yourself before, in Mortal Kombat Shao Kahn poisoned Onaga hell even in the Narutoverse it's possible Sasori poisoned the Third Kazekage. As long as you have normal human bodily functions poison would be dangerous and Hanzo has one of the most potent poisons in the series. And that's not the only thing has in his repertoire we know he can use a teleportation jutsu of some sorts and some other ones we couldn't see since Mifune was actively using a fighting style that makes it so shinobis have a hard time casting hand signs. And speaking of Mifune I see a lot of people using that fight as scaling for Hanzo when in reality Hanzo was at a major disadvantage in that fight, he was literally revived as a rusty washed up old man along with the Edo Tensei nerfs and he was fighting the only guy in the world who was immune to his poison. The moment Ibuse swallowed Mifune it would've been over, he would be paralyzed and unable to cut himself out of Ibuse.
Hanzo was always criminally underrated. I personally think Pain prioritized his death not as much for personal vengeance as he did because he knew Hanzo with a dedicated following and time would be able to reach a level of strength that he would struggle with.
It’s honestly refreshing to know more about extremely strong characters that aren’t related to Senju, Uzamaki , and especially Uchiha outside of Konoha.
When it comes to Hanzo his level of strength is like us watching Superman break a chopstick and being impressed by his strength. Hanzo is so retardedly strong and broken it’s staggering.
Jiraiya had Sage Mode in part 1 (never decided to use it though for whatever reason). Sage Mode Jiraiya was capable of fending off the Paths Of Pain while Hanzo seemingly couldn't even put up a fight.
@@2406west Not necessarily. If Hanzou continued to stagnate, then yes. Though, if that was the case, then he would have never gone out to fight the Sannin in the first place, so the hypothetical battle would have never happened to begin with. If, on the other hand, he had either survived Pain's attack on him and decided to become stronger again and returned to his peak, or had never stagnated in the first place, then my money would still be on Hanzou. Especially if he had never stagnated, as then he'd be even stronger than he was when he beat two Perfect Jinchuriki.
One surprising thing is how quickly the name caught on. They all start by referring to Jiraiya, Orochimaru and Tsunade as "One of the Legendary Sannin" or something similar. If Hanzo was a nobody, the name would not have stuck around for so long, but I guess Hanzo was strong enough for a name that he gave to be recognized by the whole world.
We already have a good idea. He ran the war torn rain village during one of the worst wars in history and was the reason other villages avoided the rain village other than its weather. If you just cant fathom what kind of power that takes, that's on you.
I think it’s because Deidara’s nano bombs were made completely out of Chakra. While Jigen/Isshiki’s Chakra rod’s were actual physical matter shrunk down to a microscopic size. The Chakra rods were able to bind the chakra of whoever got hit with them, but that doesn’t mean that they were actually made out of chakra themselves.
People like to forget the reanimated jinchuriki have both rennigan and sharingan, thats an insane buff even when blocking the typical uchiha techniques as they wouldnt know them. While in perfect jin mode, i believe the tailed beast forms still have the occular jutsu activated aswell. But thats another topic. Can yall imagine what Hanzo could have done with a tailed beast sealed in him 😂 Or any uchiha 😅
The true villain of Naruto is Gamamaru he was alive when Hagoromo and his brother sealed their mother he has the power to see into the future so why didn't he tell Madara that he was being used when he know about it why didn't he tell anyone. If he told someone Madara wouldn't have left the village and Zetsu would be destroyed a long time ago, the Uzumaki and Senju might still be alive and the Uchiha's to. Just think about all the things he probably knew about and said nothing.
To be fair the entire series kept giving us hints that Hanzo the Salamander was insanely strong when he was an active fighter. From fighting the 2 sannin and winning to being rivals to a woman who could fight somewhat evenly an akatsuki member when she's like 90. This doesn't even surprise me.
Orochimaru wasn't even a member of the Akatsuki anymore during the time skip was he? I thought when we first meet him in the Chunin exams he had already left the Akatsuki.
No idea where to place this but you should do a review of crunchy rolls “try not to cry challenge” and review which shows you liked on it and or which shows/episodes would you place on the list instead to build your perfect “try not to cry”
In 298 or 299 of Shippuden Itachi tells Naruto, not that shisui died after giving his eye to Itachi but that he disappeared. Does this mean he's not dead but hiding out somewhere?
@@themexis I mean technically speaking we've seen a lot of people not be killed by deadly poisons, and he beat the paralysis enough to leave and get to Itachi and give him the other eye. Kabuto admits the body was missing and he couldn't find it. Then Itachi says he got his second eye after danzo attacked shusui and said he disappeared, not that he died. now I don't think he's out training, but I think he could still be alive and some random tiny village just being a cool people with the villagers
@@hoboguru2901 could be. might be another one of those setups Kishimoto forgot about. If the rules on how MS is unlocked were clearer there'd be a definite answer.
Deidara & Sasori/Tobi caught Shukaku & Isobu on screen after the time skip. Kakuzu & Hidan caught Matatabi on screen shortly before killing Asuma's monk friend. Itachi & Kisame caught Son Goku on screen after the time skip. Pain caught Saiken on screen after killing Jiraiya. *Kakuzu & Hidan caught Chōmei during the time skip.* That means that the 2 in the Akatsuki's possession were Kokuō & Chōmei. Given that the bosses probably want to rule from the shadows, as Pain didn't get involved until most were dead, Konan probably wasn't the one to do capture Kokuō. Given that Zetsu mostly operated as an informant, Orochimaru & Sasori were the one that probably caught Han.
You know what doesn’t make sense the one shot essentially makes it that Rosh and Han basically are so strong Minato and Jiriya plus the rest of team don’t stand a chance and have to run away…. Yet they go home and suddenly minato is battling the Full Kurama the being who’s (supposedly stronger than all EIGHT OTHER TAILED BEASTS COMBINED) and arguably at the very least doing well now how do get around that on power scaling.
Because one he'd come up with his counter jutsu for Tailed Beasts specifically, and two that isn't Full Kurama, that was a partially sealed Kurama. The entire point of the fight was him beating Kurama back before he could actually break the seal.
*Correction:* there's no evidence that Hanzo even fought Han and Roshi let alone defeated them let alone simultaneously. Just because they fought Konoha here doesn't mean they spent the entire war on this battlefield to force Hanzo to beat them back. That is a huge assumption to make to then base Hanzo scaling on. *Correction 2:* Roshi was definitely not at his peak power when defeated by Kisame but still managed to give him trouble since it was Kisame that says both of these things to Itachi after his offscreen battle with Roshi. This means at his peak (at or after the time he fought Minato and Jiraiya) Roshi was stronger than your scaling of his power.
Am I crazy? I could've sworn that the manga shows part of the battle between Matatabi and the zombie duo, and I don't remember anything implying that that was happening in the time skip. Meanwhile, the only stuff regarding Fuu I can think of happens during the time skip, during the chunin exams in that one filler arc. So counting that as the canon, shouldn't that mean the 2 beasts before Shukaku were most likely Kokuo and Chomei?
A few points (none of which are to do with hanzo lol) 1: Itachi & sasori never caught tailed beasts either technically. 2: 2 tails was caught by Hidan (as you said) during shippuden. Deidara was referring to 5 & 7 tails that they had captured already. The only reason we saw 7 tails alive (in the anime) was during the flashback of the chunin exam arc taking place in the sand village while Naruto was away with Jiraiya. 3: interestingly, kisame's statement during the sealing of shukaku about that it would probably take longer because orochimaru wasn't there anymore implies that they sealed a tailed beast in the statue WITH orochimaru there, which would have to be way back before part 1. 5 tails is the only one who it could've been. If that's accurate, they caught him so long before the others lol. 4: kisame had a pretty hard time against 4 tails (by his own admission) despite being a good counter to tailed beasts in general & arguably lava style specifically. 5: the akatsuki seem to pick targets for members strategically when they can: -Deidara vs 1 tail = could fly to avoid ground-based sand attacks in a desert and get closer to gaara + blow openings in the sand somewhat well, if need be. Hidan vs 2 tails = not sure Obito/tobi vs 3 tails = not sure (kinda funny if deidara really DID capture it considering how long Obito had the mizukage with the 3 tails under genjutsu and didn't capture him). Kisame vs 4 tails = water style to combat lava style Konan (prob) vs 5 tails = makes sense because physical attacks are basically useless against her being made of paper (prob one of the reasons she was the one to recruit sasori, as well) Pain vs six tails = not sure Kakuzu vs 7 tails = comes from same village means good Intel (also, fuu seemed to still trust him for some reason) Sasori vs 8 tails (aside from orochimaru and zetsu the "non-battle type", he's the only 1 left it could be) = not sure Itachi vs 9 tails = same village means good intel + 9 tails had to be sealed last supposedly or something would go wrong with the statue + Obito had a pact with Itachi to stay away from the leaf village.
Actually it is possible that Jiraya did use sage mode in this battle as with how winded he was at the end i think he was all in fighting for his life. Jiraya was like yeah we can keep going Tsunade was like be quiet...
So, not sure if this is just the scan that I found online, but the first panel where we see Minato and Team 6 is stated to be "at the frontlines of the Previous Great Shinobi War"... Which would put it at the Third War, not the Second. And from what I could find, Hanzo faced off with the Sanin in the Second Great War. Nobody wanted to smoke with him during the Third, to the point Iwa infiltrated Grass instead to get to Fire *that* way. So we don't know if Third War Hanzo could repel Han and Roshi... But Old Onoki probably wasn't taking chances.
Keep the Naruto content flowing 🔥 . I would like to suggest an alternative to this narrative where hanzo did not need to directly combat Han and Roshi to levels of a death battle but rather reasoned with them. Hanzo being at heart a pacifist (similar to Itachi) more likely reasoned with Han/Roshi. Ultimately influencing the two jinchuriki to free themselves from the cycle of war and find their own spaces of peace. Successfully maintaining the peace in the land of rain. Until Danzo happened lol
Someone pls tell me Why did minato use reaper death seal on himself? He could have used 8 sign seal just like he did on naruto to seal half of kurama or he could have sealed all of kurama in himself using 8 sign seal
Minor point, but i believe all Chiyo ever did was work in a medical capacity to heal ninja poisoned by Hanzo. I don't believe rhey ever personally came to blows. She calls them rivals but I think she meant that she was the only ninja capable of creating an antidote.

Of course Hanzo is strong, he's the reason Nagato is a cripple.
Good point!! Using a very clever fire 🔥 jutsu Hanzo did cripple Nagato & flee using a transportation jutsu !!
Full potential Hanzo would’ve been a menace to the otsutsuki clan. Def top in the verse.
Could u do a video on y u think Kakashi dad wasn't resurrected during the 4th great ninja war
Id love to see you doing a power level tier list with ordering
I feel like itd be interesting and engaging for you to look at all the lore and figure out how it fits them all
It wasn’t Kushina who appeared during the pain arc lmao, it was Minato
Thank you Nick for posting this video today! I was just told that I have a non cancerous brain tumor. This video has really brightened my day!
1:40 the best part about the video 100%
Hanzo was always criminally underrated. I personally think Pain prioritized his death not as much for personal vengeance as he did because he knew Hanzo with a dedicated following and time would be able to reach a level of strength that he would struggle with.
It’s honestly refreshing to know more about extremely strong characters that aren’t related to Senju, Uzamaki , and especially Uchiha outside of Konoha.
When it comes to Hanzo his level of strength is like us watching Superman break a chopstick and being impressed by his strength.
Hanzo is so retardedly strong and broken it’s staggering.
Imagine if Hanzō lived and fought the Sannin in Part 1.
By that point he would lose imo
Jiraiya had Sage Mode in part 1 (never decided to use it though for whatever reason). Sage Mode Jiraiya was capable of fending off the Paths Of Pain while Hanzo seemingly couldn't even put up a fight.
@@genericwhitemale9566 i think they meant prime Hanzo not the weakened Hanzo that was a shell of their former self
@@attackcrash0787 im just going off of the hanzo we know about
One surprising thing is how quickly the name caught on.
Man I love this headcanon channel
We already have a good idea. He ran the war torn rain village during one of the worst wars in history and was the reason other villages avoided the rain village other than its weather. If you just cant fathom what kind of power that takes, that's on you.
Bruh be having me ready for 9am like a fiend 😭🔥💯
Hi nick, quick question if sasuke's sharingan could see deidara's nano bombs, then why can't he see ishikki's chakra rods before he unshrinks them?
I think it’s because Deidara’s nano bombs were made completely out of Chakra. While Jigen/Isshiki’s Chakra rod’s were actual physical matter shrunk down to a microscopic size. The Chakra rods were able to bind the chakra of whoever got hit with them, but that doesn’t mean that they were actually made out of chakra themselves.
:1.43 was the funiest shi ive ever seen you do 🤣
People like to forget the reanimated jinchuriki have both rennigan and sharingan, thats an insane buff even when blocking the typical uchiha techniques as they wouldnt know them.
While in perfect jin mode, i believe the tailed beast forms still have the occular jutsu activated aswell. But thats another topic.
Can yall imagine what Hanzo could have done with a tailed beast sealed in him 😂
Or any uchiha 😅
I wanna watch this after school someone remind ME after 6 hours to watch it
The true villain of Naruto is Gamamaru he was alive when Hagoromo and his brother sealed their mother he has the power to see into the future so why didn't he tell Madara that he was being used when he know about it why didn't he tell anyone. If he told someone Madara wouldn't have left the village and Zetsu would be destroyed a long time ago, the Uzumaki and Senju might still be alive and the Uchiha's to. Just think about all the things he probably knew about and said nothing.
Honorable mention
Kukio was the first tailed beast to break obito hold
This also speaks for how strong chiyo was in her prime
Nick will see one page in a one-shot manga and Flying Raijin into the studio to explain every detail about how it shapes the universe
Didn’t Hanzo cripple the legs 🦵 of Naguto using a clever disguised fire 🔥 style jutsu ?? Hmm 🤔
Finally! Hanzo recognition!
Youve been on it lately. Keep the grind going!
The bit at 1:35 had me cracking up, relatable asf
I gotta stop taking so many dabs before I watch these 😂 that name math in the last 5 minutes hurt my brain. Always love the content though.
Orochimaru wasn't even a member of the Akatsuki anymore during the time skip was he? I thought when we first meet him in the Chunin exams he had already left the Akatsuki.
"I'm quite happy. Sometimes." 😂 I feel that.
NC, in the pain arc, it was minato who saved naruto by strengthening the seal
No idea where to place this but you should do a review of crunchy rolls “try not to cry challenge” and review which shows you liked on it and or which shows/episodes would you place on the list instead to build your perfect “try not to cry”
In 298 or 299 of Shippuden Itachi tells Naruto, not that shisui died after giving his eye to Itachi but that he disappeared. Does this mean he's not dead but hiding out somewhere?
don't think he had any eyes left to izanagi that poison
*Kakuzu & Hidan caught Chōmei during the time skip.*
That means that the 2 in the Akatsuki's possession were Kokuō & Chōmei.
How did he battle kurama ? Teleported a bomb.. watched the third push him away with enma… watched kushina use her chains.. minato lost hardcore
So counting that as the canon, shouldn't that mean the 2 beasts before Shukaku were most likely Kokuo and Chomei?
if youre looking for that kind of card holder it seems like a good deal for the money cuz to get a good one youd have to spend around 200
Really like the chain flip dawg 😂😅
I know this video was about Hanzo but I just keyed into the 4 & 5 tails talk and that's all I can retain about it 😅
A few points (none of which are to do with hanzo lol)
1: Itachi & sasori never caught tailed beasts either technically.
5: the akatsuki seem to pick targets for members strategically when they can:
-Deidara vs 1 tail = could fly to avoid ground-based sand attacks in a desert and get closer to gaara + blow openings in the sand somewhat well, if need be.
Hidan vs 2 tails = not sure
Obito/tobi vs 3 tails = not sure (kinda funny if deidara really DID capture it considering how long Obito had the mizukage with the 3 tails under genjutsu and didn't capture him).
Kisame vs 4 tails = water style to combat lava style
Konan (prob) vs 5 tails = makes sense because physical attacks are basically useless against her being made of paper (prob one of the reasons she was the one to recruit sasori, as well)
Pain vs six tails = not sure
Kakuzu vs 7 tails = comes from same village means good Intel (also, fuu seemed to still trust him for some reason)
Sasori vs 8 tails (aside from orochimaru and zetsu the "non-battle type", he's the only 1 left it could be) = not sure
Itachi vs 9 tails = same village means good intel + 9 tails had to be sealed last supposedly or something would go wrong with the statue + Obito had a pact with Itachi to stay away from the leaf village.
Kishi should also do one shot manga in all.of the Jinchurikis
Its all fun and games till Jiraya goes in to sage mode...😊 great video NCHammer thanks
Nick! Please bring back the old background music. It's one of the reasons I fell in love with this channel 🔥🔥🔥!
Poison is a great equalizer against people stronger than you, so I don’t think Hanzo necessarily scales physically to the Jinchuriki
Look at you being a full-fledged power scaler
How did itachi’s edo tensai have his eyes when his eyes were still alive and in sasuke?
Hidan and kakuzu caught the 2 tails cause in the show you see the 2 tails transform as they are attacking her
Someone pls tell me
Why did minato use reaper death seal on himself?
He could have used 8 sign seal just like he did on naruto to seal half of kurama or he could have sealed all of kurama in himself using 8 sign seal
Keep up the awesome work and videos Nick love the video
Minor point, but i believe all Chiyo ever did was work in a medical capacity to heal ninja poisoned by Hanzo. I don't believe rhey ever personally came to blows. She calls them rivals but I think she meant that she was the only ninja capable of creating an antidote.
Chiyo wasn't a medical ninja she was a puppet master she definetly cured his poison but she was a fighter and definetley fought him at some point
I always loved chiyo and sasori and chiyo fought hanzo possibly in his prime surviving for muiltiple battles and if he is this strong that makes me respect them even more. The puppetering jutsu is awsome and in the hands of prodigys is strong, versitile and even artful wish we could see more of them.
I might not have got the Hanzo one shot I wanted but this has gotta be the next best thing 🥲
Im completely down with more Hanzo. One of my favorite characters that got no screen time
i really want a show about the time before naruto
call it tales of konoha or konoha chronicles
4 seasons, every season for 1 hokage
and of course appearances and more screentime for hanzo, sakumo, fugaku, shisui, young jiraya, young orochimaru, young tsunade, duy maito and more
who agrees? which characters should be there too?
Hanzo is a Namikaze
Love to see my guy kisame getting his recognition
Hanzo, Fugaku, and Sakumo need a one shot. Make it happen 🫡
Nchammer do you know when next BLACK CLOVER manga comes out
Well Hanzo is the Voice of Myotismon and Raiden so he got to be HIM!!!
Han be running that gear 2
I ain’t even gonna question the gun cocking😅
