Your video popped up thanks to the algorithm, and I’m glad it did. I’m a long time lifter who always looked forward to 5:00 when I would head to the local gym. But in March 2020 when the gyms closed, I immediately began acquiring home gym equipment. Since then I have acquired pieces of equipment that are better than the commercial gym equipment. The only time I work out at a commercial gym is if I’m out of town. Thanks for the video!

I gotta say, love your channel. You've done great at really hitting all the tough points of the home gym community and covering things from all angles. I started in middle school with a piston based rower gadget that I could bench and curl with then dumbbells then power blocks and probably 20 iterations of home gyms, basement gyms to where I now have a detached garage that's evolved into a full gym. I look at it like we are all to gym products what car guys are to cars. You don't need a project car to get from point A to B just like I don't need a whole gym to get into shape but it's a fun hobby and as far as hobbies go, while I waste way too much money on it at least it's a healthier outler than a lot of hobbies. Anyway, great channel, keep up the great work.
You hit a number of legit points. I'd rather have a home gym hobby vs car or watch. Probably run me a lot less and more practical. But to each their own. What type of layout do you have in your garage?

Nice video and a ton of great points that you made including the equipment at gyms. I remember the last day I lifted at LA Fitness and the barbell for benching literally had no more knurling on it. And waiting for any type of leg machine in the Miami area at a gym is worse than your wait at the DMV. I'm at about 3yrs now of having a Home Gym and it's fun to look back at how it started and what equipment I have upgraded and replaced. Like you a lot of items have been birthday, XMas, and Father's Day gifts.
On equipment I currently still own and 1 pre-ordered set of adjustable DBs & 1 full set of DD plates I'm buying off a guy ~$15,250 - this is spread out over a few years, btw. Then a belt from Beltfed, barbel jack, wall control, custom banner, DIY storage shelf, Amazon fire TV & wall mount so that figure is actually higher. I've also got the AB5200 2.0 and thing is a winner, vertical storage (chef's kiss). Open rackable trap bar - I totally use it for low grip deadlifts every week (I find this safer than conventional deadlifts and even squats), along with at least getting used for an incline chest press or a shoulder press variation. Specialty bars add so much variety, I love mine dearly. Good call on whole foods and getting kiddos into healthy habits - we do the same, idk if they've ever had a happy meal. Did we hear a total spend figure in this video??
