    i can't believe i've only just discovered this pro shift kit because of this video. have had a 2007 690 SM for a little over 1.5 years and shifting through the higher gears felt really bad because of missed shifts and false neutrals. i'll totally be ordering this part as soon as possible!

    Excellent video...and
    more subscribers! I have no mechanical knowledge so I thought the tech section was super informative, you're a great teacher too. Riding sections really cool too. Thanks for posting 👍🏻🏍

    I have a duke 690 and it's a fun bike!! I live in Montana so I just ride mine around the logging roads in the mountains around here.

    Nice video man. Really helpful. Doing my first oil change myself on my 2016 Duke 690 soon. Where did you get the shift kit by the way? I hit false neutrals quite a bit. Very annoying. Oh and the bike looks super clean!

    Here’s a little explanation for anyone wondering why a bike like this has a problem with “false neutrals”
    In a motorcycle gearbox/transmission there is for example 5 gears(some have more some have less) 5 gears on the main shaft and 5 gears on the countershaft.. in a certain gear one of the gears is fixed and one rotates freely on the shaft which could be either shaft depending on which gear it is. When you select a gear a shifting fork engages a gear by sliding the gear and engaging “driving dogs” so the previously free spinning gear is now engaged on the shaft. When you shift to the next gear you need to slide the dog gear to engage the next gear and it’s the space between selecting these gears that is the false neutral. You absolutely have to disengage one gear before going into the next. If you were somehow able to have two gears engaged at one time the transmission/gearbox would explode because two different gear ratios are trying to spin the shafts.
    This is the false neutral between every gear and it’s impossible to get rid of completely.. it will always be there. I believe this bike is know for hitting false neutral easily and the fix done in this video improves it.
    I tried to explain it but think I don’t a terrible job there lol.

    Is the spring difficult to install? No one has show them doing it.

    Hey I just bought a ktm Duke 690 3 2010. After a cold start ( long day not riding) when I start to go after shifting to 4 or 5 gears engine dies. Anyone know why ?

    I subscribed just because I was finally able to see someone who knows a lot about this motorcycle, the SUPERMOTO 690 MODEL 2007-2008.. Now what I would be interested in knowing, dear friend, is what is the objective of that motorcycle because it is very powerful, very fast. But what I want to know and what interests me the most is, is that motorcycle good for long trips of more than 200km? I await your kind response brother and a very good video 🤜🤛

    Hey I just picked up a 2014 ktm 690 Duke,this is my first ktm and at night my header glows red,from what I hear this is normal.does yours do this? I actually just ordered a Rottweiler fuel dongle to help richen it up and hopeful fix that low end also.I was just curious if your bike does this? And if you have fixed it,how did you?

      @claymaddox2500 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      G G the dongle helped the surge in the low end 4K and under ALOT! And as far as the glowing header it did not fix it but from what I gather it’s completely normal.I did get the manual fan switch installed on my bike and it helped a lot with sitting in traffic.i also added purple ice to the coolant and so far everything is running better!
