@sallyadams3981 I am again humbled by kind feedback like yours. I am learning to appreciate my work, and I am truly appreciative of the encouragement. Thank you!!
Hello Karon, Your fabric is stunning! You have great taste and do such a wonderful job of matching fabric and pattern. This is a gorgeous dress and you sew so well! Don’t ever doubt yourself. Hope you had several days off work for the holiday and it’s hard to believe summer is half over now. Summer is my favorite time of the year! Take care and happy sewing too, Nancy from Indiana.
Hello Nancy. I hope your recovery has been going well and that you continue to heal. I am not ready for summer to be over, but the Fall is a great season . Thank you so much for watching and supporting my sewing journey 🙂
The color fabric is soooo sweet like a candy...and the pattern different from the others. Congratulations. I imagine the long time you needed to sew it.The dress could have been seen in one of my favorite serie:Downtown Abbey,in the twenties, when the dresses were shorter, after the first world war when a great majority of women were obliged to work and so wore more practical dresses.Bravo Karon.
Catherine, now that you mentioned it, I believe I remember that style from watching that series as well. It's one of my favorite series as well, but I am happy we now have more vibrant fabric options. I appreciate your time taken to watch and also to point out a possible influence of this design.
It's lovely, and I love that you are pleased with your make! I know your standards are so high that sometimes it may be hard for you to just enjoy and see the beauty in what you create.😊 If you need a future video idea, I'd love to see a tutorial on the fork pleats in action. I've seen it in a sewing hack video or two. But seeing a real sewist demonstrate it would be awesome.
Thank you so much. I believe my sewing expectations and being hard on myself developed over time. When I began sewing, I didn't have all the resources to finish the seams of my garments and had challenges with the serger. I believe this led to my habit of trying to ensure my garments were as good as the other sewists I watched. I always felt the pieces I made were not good enough, but after sharing them on TH-cam, I learned they were just different, not inferior. Yes, I will show how I use the for for creating pleats.
I love that dress. You look beautiful in it Karon. I am finishing up a white, embroidered cotton linen shirt. Simplicity 6232! Struggling with the collar, but I’m getting there
Beautiful dress! What a great idea to add the pleats. I'm not sure if I heard right, did you french seam the skirt to the bodice? How did you do that? I would think that pleated fabric is too thick for french seams.
Thank you. Yes, it was all French seamed. I showed the inside of the garment in the video just to give an idea of the overall look. It wasn't difficult, and the fabric is a linen chambray that worked fine.
Hi Karon. This is off topic but somehow I keep getting unsubscribed from your channel. I have to go in every time I watch and check. I'm 100 percent sure I was subscribed the last time I watched, but today I checked and sure enough it said subscribe 😢
