I used to love running over the bridge and clambering up the unusually large steps... miss old looking London.

Vintage! I still think it looks weird without that bridge there anymore.

I've had dreams where it's still there. The way it looked suited the area, though it's much safer now using the traffic lights

I never even thought about that bridge for years. It was iconic. Hammersmith holds so many memories for me - I worked on the Broadway, my Nana lived along King Street - many happy afternoons in Ravenscourt park.

Used to live here in the 1980s in one of the tower blocks. I forgot there was a Bejam shop there. It’s a shame they didn’t film in the shopping centre. It was open air with no door entrance and no roof covering it back then. Would have loved to see some of the old shops there that are now long gone. I can remember Bush Books and Harley Chemist but can’t remember if the main supermarket at that time was Presto or Safeway? Wish I had a camera back then as a kid.

Cor you'd never recognised it now in days it's had a complete make over. Been living in Bush town since 1980 still here in 2022 memory lane, good olds days of going to the Last chance center during the holidays being taken to BMX track at back Edwards estate Latimer rd and having competitions with Fun factory and the other play centers, being intercepted by travels kids from gypsy camps robbed for your bike, then they put them under moter way and travels broke in stole all bikes that place gone now. 125 inter city bridge me and mates in the evening use to slide down the escalators into the shopping centre. And Shepard's bush market even Fletcher's fruit and veg have sold up and gone like A. Cookes ( Mick's) pie and mash, Zippys for burger a shake and brown Derby all gone, I even remember Dead eye dicks jean shop were Tesco is start of 80s, wheelers arcade shop next to Vinnies patisserie before they stopped kids playing arcades, and who remembers the Sweeney TV show most of the action scenes filmed is were they build West field's shopping centre, steptoe and son and the classic minder, who car lot was back of Blyth road by my primary school we use to see them filming it when going library, remember madness tune i like driving in my car video driving up and down Goldhawk rd. Bring back memories.

It was really fun to watch the old black-and-white 1952 movie turn the key quietly, and in the first scene they mentioned going to shepherds bush. I would never have known where that was if it weren’t for your wonderful walks. Thank you

Grew up in East Acton, a couple of miles up the road. Shepherds Bush was my old stomping ground. Mum used to take me down the old market and to the old Rank cinema next to the now demolished Union House which had the old post office on the ground floor and the Dr Who production offices above it. Back then the place was a shithole but it had a certain charm. These days, with the coming of Westfield, not so much. I miss the old days.

I sure miss the days when traffic was allowed to find its own way, unhindered by the current forest of oversize box junctions, unnecessary and unreliable traffic lights, pointless 20mph speed limits and Advanced Stop lines big enough to accommodate a stretch limo. More Noddy state than nanny state. You can't get hurt if you're stuck at a yellow box junction that you can't cross in one movement, or at a traffic light stuck on red. Happens routinely at this location now.

Why was the bridge ever decorated with an InterCity train? There was no train station anywhere near there! The tube station is central line only. The Overground station there today was built long after that bridge came down.
