5:45 Dis is also one of the most directly Dante layers. And having a massive fortress-city should Avernus ever fall or a Demon or Celestial host sneak past Avernus seems like a very good idea.
4:26 ACTUAL 3e stuff like Manual of the Planes and BoVD absolutely had the Hag Queen ruling the rock faces, it wasn't till LATE 3.5 that they changed it to the Hag Queen's corpse and I could have sworn FC2 did mention the bouldercliffs.
The third edition version could very be made into a domain of the second edition version, or the second edition version into a domain of the third edition version. So, you can have both.
Not sure if it really matters, but I thought I'd point out a small mistake you made. In the video the information you provide about the layer in 3rd edition is actually from 3.5th (I assume your using the fiendish codex 2 as your primary source). In 3.0 the layer is still ruled by the Hag Countess and is still sloped like 2nd edition. The 3rd edition manual of the planes is a decent source if you want 3.0 3rd edition info.
I lump 3 and 3.5 together. I have the 3e manual of the planes and I know the hag countess still ruled it in that version, I was just pointing out the differences between editions so I didn’t feel a need to mention it.
@@Genghis_Sean , I personally really prefer the 3.5 version. It's so much more distinct than the other versions. And Glasya is the most interesting ruler of Malbolge imo

Ya I was using the Fiendish Codex as my 3e source. I didn’t realize the lore differed that much between 3 and 3.5
@@Genghis_Sean FC2 was one of the very late 3.5 books too, so for most of 3.5 it was also an avalanche world.
Love your nine hells series, dude! Very good work. Well done.😊

That's my headcanon.
I love this series it can feel like a regional history lesson to weave into our own stories
Dang Glasia is like a cool rebel while still being lawful evil
These series are your Magnum opus LOVE them
Dude covering the darker side of dnd??? Hell yea. Deff wish I had found you sooner and you deserve to be wayyyyyyyyyyyy bigger.
Nice, another upload!
I just got the planescape 2e box set from drive thru the intro funny because I just relearned the chant
Guide us to hells!
Last time i was this early Satan was the ruler of the nine hells.
So, according to that old Dragon article, that's like, what, AD 1300 or thereabouts?
@@tomkerruish2982 And before that it was Zargon
Damn what did that previous Lord of the 6th do to get ballooned and violated like that 😮
I know Asmo is cruel but that seems like a punishment to me.

Cool cool, makes sense.
Never liked the Malagard angle, though Moloch is probably the least interesting of the "original" Arch-devils so you can see why they replaced him.
Ya, I thought the 3.5e descriptions were much less interesting than the perpetually sloped mountain with rolling boulders.

Are you going talk about Maladomini seventh7 layer of hell?
He went from 1st through 6th, including 2,3,4 and5, so I doubt it.
I’m going through all the layers, so yes. Maladomini video will be out next week.
@@Genghis_SeanI bet you're going to finish Cania and then make us wait untill you finish each layer of the abyss before we get Nessus.
Yup, every layer of the abyss will get its own video 🤣
@@Genghis_Sean awesome that’s pretty cool talk about each layer of the abyss!😊👍🏻
this is the most efffed up layer
