What size pole do you use? 6-12? Length? Thanks in advance. I'm trying to learn drift fishing I got the concept I'm just wondering if there is a better pole that has more sensitivity then the one I'm currently using.
I was using a 10-20 8'6 okuma celio. I also use a 10'6 okuma SST. But its all preference on the user. For me i like light weight medium heavy something over 9'. I just got to find something in my price range.
Anti-Snagging Rule Except when fishing with a buoyant lure (with no weights added to the line or lure), or trolling from a vessel or floating device, terminal fishing gear is restricted to a lure or bait with one single-point hook. Hooks must measure ¾" or less from point to shank, and must be attached to or below the lure or bait. Weights may not be attached below or less than 12" above the lure or bait.
you fail to see the leader length in the description There are an endless variety of weights, lures, floats, and/or baits that anglers can use. A standard setup for salmon often consists of a snap swivel at the end of the mainline, a leader from 12-48” to a single hook with egg loop, a corky on the line above the hook, and yarn on the hook (Photo 1). For weight,

That is a good question. They can be in at any time really. But I like mornings. If you fish in the lower puyallup the tides will effect the salmon coming up the river. So checking the tides would be good.
@coldwarsuckshard850 If you want to go high there's 116th and 128th hole. Lower you got the soccer fields on river road. And what we use to call Kmart hole on levee road.
@@apoutdoorsPNWwhere exactly is the 116th and 124th hole? I usually fish soccer fields and across from shell but want to find new spots. Those get too crowded now.
Love the video. Hope you catch a few this year.
Thanks. New to the Puyallup so this is a help. Longer leader is better?
Depends on the drift. Just got to play with it and find the fish. But don't go any longer then your rod.
Great video. Thank you.

What # test do you use? Is 20# braid and #20 test leader good enough for salmon? New to salmon fishing.
If I run braid I run 40. 20 should be fine. I run 12 mono and 15-20 leader.
thanks! have been getting skunked shore fishing the sound. gonna try puyallup. cheers.
What’s the best time of the season to fish for salmon in that general area.
Right now
Hi AP At 2:30 where can I find the tools that you are using?
They are called Lead Posting Pliers. You should be able to find them at bassPro or sportsman's.
@@apoutdoorsPNW THANK YOU SO MUCH
I like that knot not, but I always go in twice and then twist it but it’s the sameknot

Nothing about 12-48 inches. We are talking about the same state right?
