Bass Baits for Tough Fishing Days

  • Fishing the right bass baits for tough fishing days can make the difference in catching a limit and not catching anything at all. In this vlog, me and lunkerstv are heading to a lake that we caught a lot of bass out of the last time we were there. After coming back from Colorado, there was a cold front that came through and shut the bass down form biting. These largemouth bass should have been on the verge of spawning, but instead they were not biting and moved away from the bank with the high barometric pressure. We did our best with techniques that have typically worked on this lake but nothing was working. Eventually we had to down size and slow down to get bites. We ended up catching 7 bass and it took us a while to figure out how to actually get a bass to bite. This fishing video is different than my normal bass fishing videos because I am due to the audio issues that me and Rob encountered.

I really enjoy when TH-cam anglers voice over their thoughts while on the water. Especially when you explain the reason behind the bait choice. Thanks man!

I watch tv and your videos all the time without sound. It's amazing what you see, because I'm usually focused on what you're talking about. So with you explaining while watching with us, I probably learned more than I would have. Great job!

Thank you Justin for not filling your vids with ads. I know you guys need to include ads to continue to bring us great content but unlike so many other channels, your channel offers some of the cleaner and better quality videos. Keep up the great work.

I actually really liked the voiceover format, especially when the same trip is shown with the actual audio on another channel. Not only did I learn more with the voiceover, but it made the two videos different enough they were both worth watching.

Dude! Congrats on 200K! You totally deserve it. You are a "down to earth" kinda guy that truly loves the outdoors and sharing it, and not acting wild to get more views or something like that.

I love your channel as well as Lunkers, Jon B. and the other Googans. To be honest, I wish you all would do more videos like this. This is a lot more informative and helps us understand why you guys are fishing certain lures/locations at a given time rather than just watching you fish (which I like too, don't get me wrong).

I would like to see narration when you have tough days like in this video. When you're on 'em using power techniques it's just fun to watch, but when they're finicky I could definitely benefit from some of the thought process and tactics. Great work!

I loved the insight you gave with this format. I appreciate any chance to learn more about what is going on in your mind as you go through a day of fishing. It really is what is missing most from all fishing videos. I love watching the catch but the opportunity to learn something about the how and why the catch was made is why I watch videos. This is by far my favorite channel. Keep up the excellent work!

Repeating what I put on Rob's Channel, That was real good what you guys did in cleaning out that castnet.. Yesterday I went to the 1097 bridge to fish and after going to the boatramp up the road to fish I spent 2 hours fishing out a castnet that took my brand new lure.. I literally got into the water and cut it out.. couldn't get it all because it went further into the deep and I did not have a mask but I was so upset I got in the water and cut it out of the water and got my lure back.... it sucks when people just leave it there and not do what it takes to clean their own mess.. specially cast nets.. I have never left a mess behind .. especially one that hinders other fishermen.

Hey bro...this the THE way to post a video! Separate yourself even more from the pack and do this more often - or 100% if you've got balls like tungsten flipping weights. Most videos are nice to watch, and they make a guy feel like sh*t for sitting in his office while watching your troll a lake catching fish, but the thoughtful after filming commentary on what your thought process was, how you ended up fishing the spots you did, why your threw X instead of Y, ...it beats the socks off of real-time commentary that is pretty much non-existent until a fish is caught. You dig? I dig. Hope to see more like this from your channel. Tight Lines!

Wow... it's so hard for me to imagine water temp in the 60s in Jan. I just drove out to the Columbia River at Cascade Locks to find snow still on the ground, and the Columbia is down around 35 degrees. (It was actually almost 40 on New Year's Day) I'll be thrilled when it gets up to 42 or so!
