It is the best, in my opinion (though I haven't played Zooloretto: The Dice Game). But as an in-between game, most people I think will favour one of the extremes, either the card game or the big board game. I think this is the best of both worlds, but lots of people will think it's the worst of both worlds.
This looks to be the best of the 'loretto family of games. Although I haven't played Coloretto in 16 years :)
