At the young age of 34 she was fighting cancer alone in the hospital during COVID. Her Minky blankets represented family and a sense of their love and personal touch. They kept her company during her 170 day inpatient stay and became a permanent part of her healing. During that time Tia shared her journey through dance on social media with hundreds of thousands of people coming to her rescue to dance for her.
