In my experience rune is one of the highest skill cap characters. When I play goalie I don't fear most rune players, but I've met one or two that were really scary and just neutralized every single play I made. One really scary play I saw a high elo rune player do to me was he would pass to himself. He would leave a ghost in front of the north side of the goal, take possession of the ball on the south side of the goal and then kick it to his ghost and teleport over and blast it in. It was super hard to deal with because it gave him a second passing option - now instead of having to read his passes to his teammate, I also had to take into account that he could pass to himself to score too. Really made it hard to handle all the different plays he could make.
Oh for sure, I'm always a free-flow, mind-game kind of player over basic combos and mechanics in most games I play. I had the same kind of draw to play Rune that I did when I started maining Yoru in Valorant if you know much about him. Rune is fundamentally harder than most of the strikers not just because getting used to using pillars is difficult, but because at almost every point you have like an infinite amount of different plays you can make, and you have to rely on extremely precise angles muscle memory to get the most optimal results. Keep in mind his few "kill" setups are very inconsistent and he doesn't do much damage outside of Banish -> Pillar and the game's in a kill meta right now... Needless to say I've found myself pulling my hair out a bit some game's with how hard it feels, but I can't stop trying to get better and better.

Shhh, the video doesn't show how many times I've definitely NEVER, ever, ever scored for the enemy team... But seriously, his pillars can be a very bad double edged sword, I've made my goalie's job way harder unintentionally a bunch of times, but it gets better with trust and practice. Hopefully you start to get Rune's that trust you more!
Your Rune is insanely good, I wasn't interested in him at all because I never saw anyone perform such stylish yet powerful plays in my games, I might have to consider unlocking him now... also your sona is cute
@OfficialPizzaHutAccount Sadly in my experience a lot of teleport placements kind of just come with practice. But generally you'll want to gage the state of the game and place either defensive or offensive teleports based on where you think you'll be able to get an interception or where a fully formed pillar might force a gate or goal
@@spirec_ thanks!, Its so hard to play forward in Asia because, you can't trust your random goalie, and it's so hard to play goalie because of the switch controls
@fayaaz4eyes I'm not sure that's an Asia exclusive problem, goalie trust issues are universal LOL. I've had to work through some really frustrating games myself with some goalies that don't seem to be paying much attention
@@spirec_ huh, that's interesting, welp I've actually reached gold just today, I'm super happy about it, the game I was gonna promote was a game where we were crushing, but then my power went out, so my team really clutched it up, even though I couldn't see them win

It's way to easy to play rune on PC, I play him on switch and it's so hard to aim, but still I'm doing pretty good
