    Great review, I've had mine for a month and its the best, from the factory, model I've owned. Went with the S&S as well, lay down number plate, under perch indicators, and a Memphis Shades Road Warrior. It's a keeper.

    Dude! The full fender and big taillight is iconic to the low rider! Look at any club style bike and it’ll have the fun fender.

  • @steez703
    @steez703 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The full rear fender is more in tune with what the Dyna/Club Style community was looking for. That's why Harley did it. That along with the risers, motoX bars, mid controls, etc.

  • @sleepzou
    @sleepzou 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have not tried the 2020 low rider s. But with the 2016-17 Dyna low rider s, I like the rumble and shake from the engine. It really feels alive.

  • @ShivJG13
    @ShivJG13 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Damn!! I wish I could afford one! If i was able to afford one it would either be between this or the Street Bob which I could modify to my liking. The mid controls are perfect for my height 5' 6 1/2", and with shortish legs. If anything, I'd like the brake pedal angled upwards a bit, or just an extension on it so it can actually be pressed down to some effect. I think for the money you get a lot more bike with the Lowrider S. To modify a Street Bob up to similar spec, forks, brakes, better seat etc, I imagine it would cost more than the price of the standard Lowrider S.

  • @BFD15i
    @BFD15i 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hm. It looks great, just as my old LRS. However, why did they remove the cruise control? Over all, I think the FatBob is a better deal. With the 114 it costs exactly the same (in Germany, at least) but you don't have to modify it as much. With the LRS you have to get forwards, a different rear fender and a new numberplate-mount. And you don't get cruise control, at all. You need new pipes on both bikes. So it would be the FatBob for me (which also gives better lean angle).

    Thanks for this. 1. It means Sykes now have a Lowrider S and 2. I get to see what 'my' bike will be like on UK roads.
    I say 'my' bike as I've ordered a Lowrider S from Sykes, for various reasons I can't take delivery until 2021 so they're not getting my bike in until June 2020 when they will start to mod it out to my specs (see below). Oh, and I dropped your name heavily to Sandy Cauldfield who I'm dealing with as a large part of the reason I ordered from Sykes (I'll be living 210 miles away in Stafford and there are many much closer dealers) is you and how they modded out Phat G.
    So, I've put my cash down and I'm already paying for this bike and an extensive mod sheet which just for your info, is listed below.
    1. Stage 3 114 - 117.
    2. Bassani road Rage III 2:1 exhaust black.
    3. Fuelpak FP3.
    4. Arlen Ness 65° AC.
    5. Full respray to denim black (fenders, fairing, tank and side panel) with HD brass medallions on tank.
    6. Biltwell Murdock Pullback risers with stock bars.
    7. Saddlemen Step up seat with 'gripper' finish.
    8. Defiance collection pegs all round (incuding pillion).
    9. Heated grips.
    10. HD optional larger fairing.
    11. Custom Dynamics RingZ integrated LED front running light / turn signals
    12. Colorado LED rear light & Rizoma integrated LED brake / turn / lights
    13. Side mounted license plate holder.
    14. Black clutch / brake levers.
    15. Plain denim black derby cover.
    16. Flush mounted black fuel cap / gauge.
    17. Flip mirrors to below bars.
    18. Lithium battery & optimate charger / tender system.
    19. Second mortgage to pay for it.

    I don't usually leave comments but I would like some feedback from the community. I currently own 2 bikes, a 2000 Buell M2 Cyclone and a 2011 Suzuki GSX 1250 FA. I really like the rumble of my Buell and was thinking about replacing my Suzuki with a new Harley. I use the Suzuki for trips to work and stuff because it has amazing factory sattlebags. I guess my problem now is that the new Harleys are not really enticing. My Suzuki is bulletproof, and ungodly fast but doesn't make a great noise. Am I missing something? I LOVE my buell... why don't I love these new harleys?

    I believe the Americans prefer the standard fender and it fits in with the ‘club style’ bikes. The chopped one looks cack to me. Just put a short rear light, forward plate holder and a 5x7 plate and it’s sorted. Lack of cruise is yet another example of Harley ‘cheaping out’ and taking the piss out of their customer base.

    I actually like the mid controls on it. Better for handling. It is meant to be a sporty club style bike. Meant to be rode hard and fast. If anything I would just toss some highway pegs on it for longer rides. Love the bike. I just hate how super popular that bike look has become since SOA. Going to have to bring the chrome look back just to stand out lol. Softale deluxe cholo style lol.

      I agree. It's a toss up for me, between the two. Wish the Sport Glide came with the 114, inverted forks and duel disc front brakes. That would check all my boxes. Guess I'll have to get one of each :))

    • @bcbsilverhawk8426
      @bcbsilverhawk8426 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@oregonoutback7779 1 of each would be nice. The Sport glide does have inverted forks. Dual disc brakes are not needed. And you can put a Stage 2 in the 107 and it will outdo the 114 all day long. Also the versatility/The removable bags/Forward controls/removable fairing/and let's not forget cruise control standard. The more i see of this bike the less i like it. No question that the Softail chassis and suspension are a huge improvement, but the Dyna looks and sounds better. The rear end looks terrible, the front end looks squished, and Harley cheaped out not giving cruise control as standard. I've owned an M8 114 and i much prefer the Twin-Cam, it feels far more aggressive. The Dyna is a much more exciting ride. Won't be trading my '16 for this new one.

    What height are you about 5.10 with a 33in seam? Duh the tail light is from the original FXRS of the 80's which this bike originates from.

    Great review but I do wish they were a little longer. I have a 2020 chromosexual version Low Rider and love it! Can't beat a bit of chrome buffing on a rainy day. Thanks

    The rear brake is crap on Low Riders with the stock brake pedal as well. You really have to push down harder than usual (with purpose) for the rear brake to work as it should, albeit still not good as is should be. Mid controls are appropriate, makes sense, for a performance (in handling) model. HD got it right to put mids on this model in stock format. That said, forward controls work better for taller folk on the Low Rider.

    You folks need to start a movement to have the license plates changed for motorcycles. That is nothing but a disgrace to have that big billboard on a motorcycle. I'm 5'7" and hate the mid controls. I had a hard time shifting and would definitely run with forward controls. Quick bike it is and handles great.

    Be safe, I guess I am just too old but you worry me every time I watch you on your test course. I wish you had a closed course to to put the bikes through their paces.

    How do you like the low rider s compared to the fat bob?

  • @ka-bar5060

    Wrong about the new fender. The fender with the more traditional taillight is a direct response from H-D in regards to what the American "Club Bike" scene (which is exactly what the Lowrider S is taken from) likes in the looks of their bikes. It also harkens back to the much-beloved FXR bikes. H-D chose to listen to the market for the change. The old Dyna Lowrider S fender design was garbage. I have several Club Brothers who owned these models and hated the fender and only two side marker lights setup. BTW you Brits need to ditch the stupid ass license plates. They look like hell and are so big it's almost like a drag sail. But otherwise, a great review and that route looks very fun.

    Funny that you don’t like the full fender or the mids, the reason Harley put those on there is that a lot of people that bought the dyna low rider S put full fenders and mids on them. It’s a SoCal thing, mids and risers handle better, and the full fender looks better than the bobbed fender.

      Just bought one im 60. I thought i could put forward control s but you have to change inner and outer primary and with the frame these dont allow you to stretch out your legs. So next option is to put mustache crash bar to accomplish this the master cylinder is in the way so you have to relocate the master cylinder and the parts tec says harley said they doint make a part for this. I guess i can try to find aftermarket cause with my legnerve cond im in pain after a short time.

    • @kylemoore9626
      @kylemoore9626 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Scott Herring you don’t have to change the primary to go from mids to forwards, you just have to plug the holes where the shaft goes through. To go from forwards to mids you do have to change the primary however.

      I can be ok. I'll get the forwards. Which dont come out far enough. Or put mustache bars and get a bracket made for master cly. So they will fit thanks for info man
