Love the entire FITF album (thought Walls was good, and I loved these songs, but FITF is heads and shoulders above as an overall album). I think it’s one of the best I’ve heard in decades and it’s on par with Harry’s House for me. Very different music but equally as good.

I love Louis! Personally I prefer his new album as I feel he's getting more into the type of music he really loves/ what he listens to. I actually only went back and listened to One Direction because I found Louis' solo music and really liked it, so I went backwards in a way.

As for one direction, I think a good place to start is their 'best song ever', 'Story of my life', and 'midnight memories' music video. all 3 songs are from their 3rd album (Midnight Memories). Ahh, loved seeing your positive reaction to Louis. Louis wrote most of the songs for One Direction back in the day with Liam, but mainly only on 1D's last three albums, all three of which are so damn good I can't decide which one is best! Unfortunately, Louis and Niall got the least recognition during One Direction's time, so it's quite nice to see them both finding their way and their sound. They are both my favourites of the solo members. However, Louis is still so extremely unknown these days, which is because his music is not mainstream and the ones he is signed to don't even try to get his music on the radio much anymore (as far as I remember). And I think we all agree that far too few people still know Niall. In any case, you can see from One Direction's music that Louis and Niall were never able to show what they were actually capable of, because the focus was mainly on Zayn and Harry and Liam was a bit of the star of One Direction at the beginning, and therefore they didn't get the recognition they deserved, which I still find a shame today and is definitely one of the dark sides of One Direction. That's why it's so nice that they have found themselves and are making the music they enjoy and not necessarily the music you would expect them to make. And I have to admit that I've only been a fan of One Direction for two years and that's when I dived into their solo careers. 😅 (But most of the songs that One Direction played on the radio at that time gave me the nasty impression that One Direction was just another bubblegum boy band, which it definitely is not).
Yeah I agree that it's nice they doing well with their solo-careers. That was my feeling also even tho I didn't listen to 1D, it was all about Harry and Zayn. @@kimpolimpo one direction's first 2 albums were kind of bubblegum pop because they sang what was given to them (they were very young only 17-19 years old), From their 3rd album (Midnight Memories onwards) they started writing their own songs and that's why their last three albums have a lot more rock sound to it.

i really wish you would've done kill my mind, out of my system or face the music to get his more punk rock sound which is his best genre and most fitting for him tbh for first listen i would have not picked these songs but im glad you gave him a chance he does cover quite a bit of genres punk rock, acoustic and british indie. If you want more main stream stuff from him I would say back to you, just hold on and bigger than me are those ones which he admitted are more for radio but are still amazing ones. @@kimpolimpoYou should know Louis did Just Hold On with DJ Steve Aoki when 1D first ended. Then he wrote Back to You and put it out with Bebe Rexha on the track. Both were singles. I think he was kind of passing time thinking the band would come back together. He has said in interviews that neither song is really his style. He has brought Back to You into his set list for his current tour. Oasis is probably his favorite band. He has always talked about them as such since 2010
Hi Julie! I'm late to KimpoLimpo, and so glad I've found it now. I recall from an interview that Louis said "Just Hold On" and "Back To You" were his initial singles and were based on radio play at that time, which was dance pop. He said he had not yet found his sound quite yet, meaning he didn't feel free to write the music he wanted to write yet. I think that is sad only because I love Walls and FITF, and Louis said LT3 would be even more of his preferred sound. (I know you know all of this. I just love to talk about Louis' music 💙.) Can't wait to see you at a future Louis concert!

As a huge louis fan and since you mentioned that you've heard like 3 diff versions of louis on this reaction, I recommend for you to listen first to the songs on his first album wc is walls ( even tho Im rlly excited for you to listen to all the songs frm faith in the future) for you to see how he evolved as an artists cos walls is very different to faith in the future ( both albums are banger yknow). New subscriber. Louis (pronounced Lou-ee) is my favourite artist and I love that you are looking to do more from him. I found him through his Two Of Us song and fell down the entire one direction rabbit hole as many do. You already did Only The Brave which is my fave of his (and Green Day is one of Louis' favourite bands so I don't think he would mind the comparison much) but would recommend Holding On To Heartache and Change definitely, but u can't go wrong with his whole discography to be fair. If you are looking at doing any One Direction at some point, my recommendations would be Home, If I Could Fly and Long Way Down. Also loved the little football mention, I'm a huge footie fan from the UK and Sweden's captain is literally my favourite player! Also, as u are Swedish and mentioned being a bit of a metal head, I wondered if u knew a Swedish band called Smash Into Pieces, currently a fave band of mine.

@kimpolimpo yes I am a united fan, but I also just love Victor's character, both on and off the field, he is calm, friendly and funny. Far too underrated over here unfortunately! I discovered Smash, as they were a recommended band from listening to Shinedown and have since seen them live! They do deserve more recognition, I was gutted they didn't get the Eurovision place as that would have made them stand out! Fave songs of theirs is Broken Parts and All Eyes On You, but I pretty much enjoy anything they do. Back to Louis and 1D though, im excited for you to go down this journey and hopefully enjoy their band and solo music as much as we all do! They are such fun lads too, their individual personalities was what made them such a great band and someone already mentioned the unoffical guide videos, definitely worth a look.

It's a risky album for Louis because he came from pop, but he stopped worrying about the music industry and decided to do what he likes. He is on the radio blacklist, due to a dispute with the former record company. The fans support him for his courage to do something different and that he is happy with this decision, it has a lot of influences from the 90s, indie rock, that's what he wants to do.

I was too old to know about 1D when they started but I read a review of their concert when they performed in Sweden in 2014 and that’s how I got curious to see who they were. For me the 2014 era, meaning the tour for the 3rd album, and hearing Story of my Life a lot on the radio (rix) made me a fan of them. 3rd album is also when the band members got to write on the songs, which was Louis doing btw and so the 3 last albums is their journey when it comes to writing. By the time the last album come you can also hear the start of their individual styles that you can also hear on their first solo albums. It’s an interesting journey and evolution. They were a boyband but they each have different sounds now. It’s cool. I always gravitated towards Louis despite his few solos in 1D so I am really happy he decided to go solo and is doing so well. Likewise Niall was underused in the early 1D days and yet it is his music I hear on the radio today.
Yeah even tho I wasn't a fan back then I remember the hysteria when 1D came to Sweden 😅 Niall and Louis did the right thing to go solo, really good songs what I've heard so far 😁
@@kimpolimpo If you want to experience 1D live I recommend the full concert DVD filmed at San Siro, Italy. It's from their "Where We Are Tour" in 2014 and I think show them at their best. They also have their documentary/concert movie "This Is Us" that was recorded during their Up All Night tour in 2012. Both really good. The music video to "Best Song Ever" was basically used as a promo video for that documentary as well as being a sort of a introduction to who One Direction was as a band. For Louis I can recommend his online concert "Live from London" in 2020. It was done in lock down so in a studio with no audience but it's great if you want to get his live singing, naked and almost acoustic like even though he has his amazing touring band with him. To get the same concert but with audience he also filmed his first "Away From Home" (2021) concert and put it online together with a short documentary on how/why he wanted to do that festival. It's a festival that Louis curated himself with bands he likes or found interesting, himself being the headline of course, and this summer will be the third one. He recently released a documentary called "All of Those Voices" which I highly recommend too. It's very personal and you get to see the journey from the end of 1D to now.

I wanted to leave a comment for Niall also, cause I couldn't comment on your other vid for some reason. You should react to 'Niall Horan - Guinness: Best of the Pub'. He did this live stream in 2021 (the video is abt 13 mins long) on St. Patricks Day (He is Irish, in case you didn't know). This livestream was only him and an acoustic guitar, so you should probably check out the studio versions of these songs later cause this is just their acoustic version. He performed this town, slow hands, black and White. He also did a cover of U2's song 'With or without you' which literally left me speechless. You should also check out some of his upbeat songs: Slow Hands (music vid), Black and White (music vid), Nice to meet ya (Live at SNL and music vid), Small Talk (live at Royal Albert Hall), On the Loose (music vid), No judgment (music vid). I think you will really enjoy them!

Louis is a huge fan of british pop rock bands and he is slowly moulding himself as a alternative artist. Plus.. He has a very distinct british accent, which he doesn't usually hide in his songs

As for Harry, a lot of people think of him as the Watermelon Sugar / As It Was guy, but he has so much variety too. Personally my favourite is Falling, followed by Sign of the Times. Off the new album Harry's House, my favourite is the very underrated Boyfriends, followed by Satellite and Love of My Life. And off the previous albums I love Two Ghosts, Sweet Creature and Adore You. But again he makes great and varied music. I find Fine Line a very interesting album musically, even though my musical taste bends more towards his first album, and Harry's House is also great from start to finish!
The only songs I think I've heard from Harry are As it was, Watermelon sugar and Sign of the times. Sign of the times is a masterpiece IMO. So therefore I'm ashamed that I didn't listened to that album. But I'll do it now for sure ☺️🔥

Louis wrote most of the songs for One Direction back in the day with Liam, but mainly only on 1D's last three albums, all three of which are so damn good I can't decide which one is best!
Unfortunately, Louis and Niall got the least recognition during One Direction's time, so it's quite nice to see them both finding their way and their sound. They are both my favourites of the solo members.
However, Louis is still so extremely unknown these days, which is because his music is not mainstream and the ones he is signed to don't even try to get his music on the radio much anymore (as far as I remember).
And I think we all agree that far too few people still know Niall.
In any case, you can see from One Direction's music that Louis and Niall were never able to show what they were actually capable of, because the focus was mainly on Zayn and Harry and Liam was a bit of the star of One Direction at the beginning, and therefore they didn't get the recognition they deserved, which I still find a shame today and is definitely one of the dark sides of One Direction.
That's why it's so nice that they have found themselves and are making the music they enjoy and not necessarily the music you would expect them to make.
And I have to admit that I've only been a fan of One Direction for two years and that's when I dived into their solo careers. 😅
(But most of the songs that One Direction played on the radio at that time gave me the nasty impression that One Direction was just another bubblegum boy band, which it definitely is not).
Yeah I agree that it's nice they doing well with their solo-careers. That was my feeling also even tho I didn't listen to 1D, it was all about Harry and Zayn.

@@kimpolimpo one direction's first 2 albums were kind of bubblegum pop because they sang what was given to them (they were very young only 17-19 years old), From their 3rd album (Midnight Memories onwards) they started writing their own songs and that's why their last three albums have a lot more rock sound to it.
I love Louis so much, my favourite song is definitely either Angels Fly or Fearless :)

Louis is an amazing clever artist. He did something cool with his first album, he made a music video's trilogy, if you wanna check that and understand the video's storyline you should watch "Kill my mind" first, then "We made it" and finally "Don't let it break your heart".
For his second album I would recommend Bigger than Me and Silver Tongues (is my personal favorite, the vibe of the chorus automatically makes me happy).

i really wish you would've done kill my mind, out of my system or face the music to get his more punk rock sound which is his best genre and most fitting for him tbh for first listen i would have not picked these songs but im glad you gave him a chance he does cover quite a bit of genres punk rock, acoustic and british indie. If you want more main stream stuff from him I would say back to you, just hold on and bigger than me are those ones which he admitted are more for radio but are still amazing ones. @@kimpolimpoYou should know Louis did Just Hold On with DJ Steve Aoki when 1D first ended. Then he wrote Back to You and put it out with Bebe Rexha on the track. Both were singles. I think he was kind of passing time thinking the band would come back together. He has said in interviews that neither song is really his style. He has brought Back to You into his set list for his current tour. Oasis is probably his favorite band. He has always talked about them as such since 2010

I recall from an interview that Louis said "Just Hold On" and "Back To You" were his initial singles and were based on radio play at that time, which was dance pop. He said he had not yet found his sound quite yet, meaning he didn't feel free to write the music he wanted to write yet. I think that is sad only because I love Walls and FITF, and Louis said LT3 would be even more of his preferred sound. (I know you know all of this. I just love to talk about Louis' music 💙.) Can't wait to see you at a future Louis concert!

As a huge louis fan and since you mentioned that you've heard like 3 diff versions of louis on this reaction, I recommend for you to listen first to the songs on his first album wc is walls ( even tho Im rlly excited for you to listen to all the songs frm faith in the future) for you to see how he evolved as an artists cos walls is very different to faith in the future ( both albums are banger yknow). New subscriber. Louis (pronounced Lou-ee) is my favourite artist and I love that you are looking to do more from him. I found him through his Two Of Us song and fell down the entire one direction rabbit hole as many do.
You already did Only The Brave which is my fave of his (and Green Day is one of Louis' favourite bands so I don't think he would mind the comparison much) but would recommend Holding On To Heartache and Change definitely, but u can't go wrong with his whole discography to be fair.
If you are looking at doing any One Direction at some point, my recommendations would be Home, If I Could Fly and Long Way Down.
Also loved the little football mention, I'm a huge footie fan from the UK and Sweden's captain is literally my favourite player! Also, as u are Swedish and mentioned being a bit of a metal head, I wondered if u knew a Swedish band called Smash Into Pieces, currently a fave band of mine.

@kimpolimpo yes I am a united fan, but I also just love Victor's character, both on and off the field, he is calm, friendly and funny. Far too underrated over here unfortunately!
I discovered Smash, as they were a recommended band from listening to Shinedown and have since seen them live! They do deserve more recognition, I was gutted they didn't get the Eurovision place as that would have made them stand out! Fave songs of theirs is Broken Parts and All Eyes On You, but I pretty much enjoy anything they do.
Back to Louis and 1D though, im excited for you to go down this journey and hopefully enjoy their band and solo music as much as we all do! They are such fun lads too, their individual personalities was what made them such a great band and someone already mentioned the unoffical guide videos, definitely worth a look.

@@kimpolimpo Yes, All this time is from the album Faith in the future, his second solo work. It's a risky album for Louis because he came from pop, but he stopped worrying about the music industry and decided to do what he likes. He is on the radio blacklist, due to a dispute with the former record company. The fans support him for his courage to do something different and that he is happy with this decision, it has a lot of influences from the 90s, indie rock, that's what he wants to do.

I was too old to know about 1D when they started but I read a review of their concert when they performed in Sweden in 2014 and that’s how I got curious to see who they were. For me the 2014 era, meaning the tour for the 3rd album, and hearing Story of my Life a lot on the radio (rix) made me a fan of them.
3rd album is also when the band members got to write on the songs, which was Louis doing btw and so the 3 last albums is their journey when it comes to writing. By the time the last album come you can also hear the start of their individual styles that you can also hear on their first solo albums. It’s an interesting journey and evolution. They were a boyband but they each have different sounds now. It’s cool.
I always gravitated towards Louis despite his few solos in 1D so I am really happy he decided to go solo and is doing so well. Likewise Niall was underused in the early 1D days and yet it is his music I hear on the radio today.
Yeah even tho I wasn't a fan back then I remember the hysteria when 1D came to Sweden 😅

@@kimpolimpo If you want to experience 1D live I recommend the full concert DVD filmed at San Siro, Italy. It's from their "Where We Are Tour" in 2014 and I think show them at their best. They also have their documentary/concert movie "This Is Us" that was recorded during their Up All Night tour in 2012. Both really good. The music video to "Best Song Ever" was basically used as a promo video for that documentary as well as being a sort of a introduction to who One Direction was as a band.
For Louis I can recommend his online concert "Live from London" in 2020. It was done in lock down so in a studio with no audience but it's great if you want to get his live singing, naked and almost acoustic like even though he has his amazing touring band with him. To get the same concert but with audience he also filmed his first "Away From Home" (2021) concert and put it online together with a short documentary on how/why he wanted to do that festival. It's a festival that Louis curated himself with bands he likes or found interesting, himself being the headline of course, and this summer will be the third one. He recently released a documentary called "All of Those Voices" which I highly recommend too. It's very personal and you get to see the journey from the end of 1D to now.

I wanted to leave a comment for Niall also, cause I couldn't comment on your other vid for some reason. You should react to 'Niall Horan - Guinness: Best of the Pub'. He did this live stream in 2021 (the video is abt 13 mins long) on St. Patricks Day (He is Irish, in case you didn't know). This livestream was only him and an acoustic guitar, so you should probably check out the studio versions of these songs later cause this is just their acoustic version. He performed this town, slow hands, black and White. He also did a cover of U2's song 'With or without you' which literally left me speechless.
You should also check out some of his upbeat songs: Slow Hands (music vid), Black and White (music vid), Nice to meet ya (Live at SNL and music vid), Small Talk (live at Royal Albert Hall), On the Loose (music vid), No judgment (music vid). I think you will really enjoy them!

As for Harry, a lot of people think of him as the Watermelon Sugar / As It Was guy, but he has so much variety too. Personally my favourite is Falling, followed by Sign of the Times. Off the new album Harry's House, my favourite is the very underrated Boyfriends, followed by Satellite and Love of My Life. And off the previous albums I love Two Ghosts, Sweet Creature and Adore You. But again he makes great and varied music. I find Fine Line a very interesting album musically, even though my musical taste bends more towards his first album, and Harry's House is also great from start to finish!
The only songs I think I've heard from Harry are As it was, Watermelon sugar and Sign of the times. Sign of the times is a masterpiece IMO. So therefore I'm ashamed that I didn't listened to that album. But I'll do it now for sure ☺️🔥
