To be real, luxury is nothing new to Hyundai. In 1999 the company introduced the Equus to the domestic Korean Republic market. The product of Hyundai's first luxury car, the first-generation Equus was a hit in the home market, especially for lively and limousine services. Powertrains were as followed: Engines 3.0 L Sigma V6 (1999-2005) 3.3 L Lambda V6 (2005-2009) 3.5 L Sigma V6 (1999-2005) 3.8 L Lambda V6 (2005-2009) 4.5 L Mitsubishi 8A80 (GDI) V8 4.5 L Mitsubishi 8A80 (MPI) V8 Transmission 5-speed automatic Just a little automotive history lesson.
Sheesh, this V8 sounds sweet, I actually prefer it's sound to BMW's recent V8s. I just love the idea of a luxurious Korean car. Styling got even better with the 2015 Genesis G90.
+Harris Anwar Just not in love with fact that we have no choice of wood colors or finishes in Ultimate Pkg. For me, the dull, dark wood against the surrounding dull, dark surfaces loses something compared to a glossy accent. There isn't something to catch the eye, differentiating surfaces and textures as you look around the interior.
I agree. This car just recently came on my radar, and I love the ivory leather, but with the really dark wood and black steering wheel/dash, it's a lot.
I honestly even though it's a hyundai the exterior still looks way better than the 7 series, a8 AND s class in my opinion. Yeah like it's a hyundai but it still looks like a very expensive and classy car. Most people probably won't even know it's a hyundai.
Love your video! No Words, JUST DRIVE!! Just bought one last night and if I'm not in it, I just set this video on replay! lol Absolute machine! Unbelievable car! Torque is perfect maybe only thing iv'e noticed is a little high end speed lag.
I really enjoyed that. I'm glad you pushed this car the way you did. Sometimes you're not as rough with the cars as u are with some others. But this was a good one.
yup! reliability in hyundai is really better now this is a survey in 2017 www.newsday.com/classifieds/cars/consumer-reports-best-and-worst-car-brands-for-reliability-in-2017-include-lexus-toyota-and-buick-1.12508795
+Isaac Fox that's what I'm afraid of. I'm afraid that they focused too much on making it luxurious rather than making a good driving car. I hop there's a bit of tingling in there
my 2014 Rspec is constantly teaching new things about how to drive her. You actually become one with the vehicle. I have tracked mine and backwoods drive strips an she handles it all. /amazing vehicle. I want another one
+roger piero True, but the ONE thing that bothers me in this car is the2 center A/C vents, the way one's turned "upside down" vs the other one of same shape. I think that could've been done better?
+Coupydog that's one type of car interior design I don't like. You either put the screen above or below the vents, not in the middle; this isn't 2006. I don't like big vertical air vents occupying the centre of the dash, because then it becomes just one long rectangle instead of making it swoop or curve around like Jaguar does it. Keep it simple, but keep it pretty
+JPWRX_9786 I would agree, but it's not a deal-breaker from buying this car. Still beautiful, excellent product for value & state of the art equipped. My biggest objection is their use of incandescent DRL & front turn signal bulbs while every other exterior light is LED. ..My question is, ...why?
+Coupydog I know it's not a deal breaker, I mean for what you're paying, it's pretty much twice the car. It's absolutely great, but I do have to concede with those indicators
You can pick hyundai 2015 genesis 5.0 with 80k miles for 20k. I might buy one since you are getting so much value with that price range. Just not sure about the reliability.
I like the way he took those freeway on-ramps like he was driving a Boss 302! A bit surprised at noise levels inside cabin at highway cruising speeds. I was not expecting much, if any road or wind noise in this car.
This car is awesome and better than the ones you were talking about , just put one of those names on to this one you will see one of those , they charge you just for the name. Hyundai awesome.
Interesting very little comments about the ACTUAL car but most complain because it's a Hyundai. While I still think Hyundai DESPERATELY needs a luxury sub-brand, the Genesis is one fine car, especially for what so little they are asking for one. Sure there are nitpicks (massively overweight, thirsty V8 etc.), but as a luxury commuter this sure beats the heck out of a good deal of 'sporty' luxury sedans which just ride very hard yet will never see so much a twisty backroad (or much less a track day).
Sounds like there is a window slightly open in the back seat? Either that, or this car has more wind noise than the Cobalt SS you test drove, which I highly doubt. Damn, that ruined the video for me. I can't watch videos of cars driving around with their windows cracked open. It gives my eardrums a pounding through my headphones. Your videos have a lot of bass as it is. Well anyway, at least the windows are shut in most of your other videos.
You look at the starting MSRP, which is $38,000 ($51,400 for the 5.0) and probably think it's a little pricey. But what you're basically getting is a discount Mercedes E-Class, or in the case of the 5.0, a discount E-Class AMG. The Hyundai probably doesn't have quite the build or ride quality that the E-Class has, but why would it? It's nearly $20k cheaper.
Ugh NOONE HAS THIS REQUEST IM ABOUT TO MAKE: Can you please do a night time drive in this car?! Im talking the walking up to the car, and the genesis logo welcome lights... PLEASE!!!
I currently live in Korea and want this car, but there is no V8 5 Liter trim in Korea and only 3.3 and 3.8 exist and these v6s are not enough for pushing this 2000kg car. Maybe i should consider back imported used cars from the US or Canada?
+Alex Roth Really, is the delay any different than shifting "manually" with most automatics? They only difference is the actuators are paddles on the wheel. It's just an alternate location for performing the same function.
Used Genesis, I've owned both. Just picked up a used base 3.8 for 25k! Love this car. It's not as refined as the Lexus but it makes up for this shortcoming in comfort and amenities.
@@TheRussell50 The V8 feels just as refined as a Lexus GS 350. I just came from a 2013 GS 350, and yes that car was buttery smooth. However, this V8 right here, in my humble opinion, redefines what the word "smooth" is.
It is a really good car, for the price you pay it's worth it. Also I can't get enough of the car's front fascia. It looks absolutely beautiful...too bad you have to have a front license plate to ruin the looks of it (Unless your state or country doesn't require a front license plate.). The rear looks cheap and weird to me, seems like it was slapped on from the Sonata or Elantra. YUCK!

+W-_-T i think they already made a concept called vision g as to show people what their design concept will be in their future genesis brand cars , so i guess thy now have the VISION
All things considered, the Genesis is arguably the best car in its segment. Very impressive piece of engineering.
Ir you live ?
The sound of that V8 gives me goosebumps!
Never thought a Hyundai would be that nice. I would buy one for sure.
*did you bought it ?😂*
@@Alaamry503I’m looking at buying a 2015 5.0 with 66,000 on the clock 😊

Probably cylinder shutoff, you can probably flash tune it and do away with it and get better throttle response as well as a bit more power
6 years later, how did it hold up? 😃

Those asymmetrical air vents on either side of the GPS are bugging the hell out of me.

is the sound out on the video or does it actually take that long to change gear with the paddle?
