    A lot of people out there don't know how to properly bolt the timing cover on. Start at the top like you did. They tend to leak between the bottom of the cylinder head and the top of the timing cover if not done this way. Really liked your video. Bummer your doing the work outside, I've been there.

    My wife drove a 80 280ZX when she was in HS. To this day, that was one of the fastest cars (on the top end) that I've ever driven.
    For tires, you may want to consider a 295/50R15 on the back, and 215/65R15 on the front. The height of those two tires are identical, but because the fronts are much skinnier, you shouldn't have any scrubbing issues when turning.
    Love those cars.

      so, I’m running 12” on back with 295/50/r15 .. and 10” up front with 245/60/r15 .. both of those tires are 26.6” tall .. you did see that I bought the fake rocket bunny wide body kit?

    You’re fine taking the cam towers off. You just don’t want to mix them up

    Where can I buy that tool you used to compress the valve springs?

    Looks like the pistons were zero deck?

  • @drdiabeetus3061

    One thing that always confused me about finding TDC is how to tell the difference between a combustion stroke and exhaust stroke. Both have cylinder one at the top. If the head is on you can tell by the valve positions. But what if the head is off? Does the keyway on the crank still remain facing up?

    • @chriscraft77022
      @chriscraft77022  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      rotate the engine and you watch the intake valve open…and then once it closes watch for the balancer mark come to zero… it will only do that on the compression stroke
