Great video. Thanks for sharing.. I have been a Datsun fan for years in B210's , 210, and 280ZX. I appreciate your wisdom. You are a Master Mechanic with great advice. No book can teach what you have taught in this video.. Thank you A+++++++++ I am getting my 280zx and 210 back on the road after 7 years.... so this video has been an inspiration
Really getting shit done! Not to be a douche, serious question. I noticed during the painting that you didn’t mask all the mating surfaces for the smaller gaskets, bolts, etc. What’s your plan for tackling the overspray if any?
I overspray on purpose in case the gasket doesn’t cover the whole surface.. some of them don’t matter.. but I go back and clean it up where it all looks new.. you will see it next video… all bolts are painted too.. I chase all the threads.. it’s going too look very fancy..
Ok makes sense! Sometimes masking takes more time than just cleaning up a little overspray. Totally dependent on the area to mask, but for small ticket things, removing paint or chasing threads is easier/faster than masking every little thing. Thanks for the fast response!
I'm always building Sports Cars and motor cycles. I always always always try different things to see what works. And I tried rustoleum high heat paint has a bbq oven on the can. I used it on motor cycle headers as a test. Yeah ,I know " rustoleum" it worked far better then the VHT. I mean it stayed looking like the hour I sprayed it for months. So I painted my Z exhaust headers with it. We shall see. " These days, what people call rebuilt, is hardly rebuilt" If it's my car, I go thru EVERY THING, that is what makes it mine! Right?!"

Motorsport Auto aka the Z Store has Ceramic headers. I suggest 6 into 1.
You better keep all the rockers and pads back in the same spot. Or you should have read the book.
