What a fantastic collection of knits ❤ just for context, in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, a “tick” is what you would call a check or a check mark :) hence the reference to the contour shawl looking like a tick 😊
Oh my, thank you for this comment! I mentioned the "tick" comment to so many friends and none of us made that connection. I appreciate you connecting the dots for me!
33:14 the designer might mean "tick" as in a check mark (✅) rather than a tick the insect. as a fellow southerner i definitely also hear "tick" used to refer to the bug most often, but in some regions the word tick is used to mean a check!
Love your lighthouse keeper! I’m always amazed that someone can look at a rather plain looking pullover and turn it into something really beautiful and eye-catching.
I love this video! I loved all that you made. Give the V neck another chance- they look much better with a collared shirt or polo shirt underneath and long or rolled up long sleeves. Wish l could follow patterns as you do- leaned needlework as a child but have only become intermediate since the COVID lockdown, when l became crazy about crochet and discovered Crystal of Bag O Day!
Your sweaters are amazing! One thing you can do with the collars is weave a bit of elastic string in to make them cinch tighter but still have the stretch needed to get on and off (-:
Thanks, I managed a pair of socks. There were a few life changes in the air. This year I have already done a cardigan and the yoke of a fairisle sweater.this was definitely an inspiration.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful pieces. I am sure many of them could become heirlooms. Love how you can make beautiful classic garments as well as colourful, more playful pieces!
Wow, I really wanted to see that red vest on you...loved it. I actually think the v-neck vest looked nice on you. Mind you, I grew up in the 70s where everyone was wearing v necked vests so it had a cozy, familiar look. I hate boat neck sweaters too...Just a supremely unflattering neckline. What a fabulous assortment of projects!
Beautiful projects! I've just recently found you and I am loving your videos. I so appreciate your description on making the Field Sweater. I immediately purchased that pattern after seeing it on you. I've been trying to figure out yarns for it. Adding the lace mohair for the top yoke pattern is brilliant and I now know what to do. Thank you!
I love your lighthouse keeper sweater and the colors are so pretty. Also your Lil kitten is adorable! I started this video late last night and actually fell asleep during it because your voice is so pleasant 😊so I'm watching it again now. You are very talented!
Hi Mark you have golden hands and you have made masterpieces.l would like to have a video about 1 blocking 2materials you use and3 how you make a sweater fit to you. greetings from greence
Good morning, Mark! Love this recap….so many beautiful items. My hubby is jealous of your Notre Dame sweater, so I may have to make him one (3 generations at ND). I’ve had the Weekender pattern for a couple of years, so you’ve inspired me to knit it this year. Ned’s wedding shawl is still the all time favorite ❤️ Blessings to you both!
Hi Mark. Loved the look back at 2023. The kitten is adorable. Trying to up my game this year on journaling so I will have a good record of what i make in 2024. Your notebook was inspirational. Happy knitting.
Love the vests - really all your work - lost vest? That is a good “where’s Waldo” !! On the V-neck - I think a deeper V would be more attractive on you, love the sweater but just down more would maybe make you happier also. This has been a lot of fun. And you are so organized, I love the notebook and way you keep track of all your projects. 👏🏻☺️
Hi Mark! Remember when I bought the sweaters quantity of Rios Siri and you told me about your Weekender? I love seeing it here! The details are classic, the fit is relaxed and that color is beautiful. I really think about making the same sweater, but I’m afraid you’ll call me a copycat!! (no I’m not 😂😂). I think it might be on my needles, if I can just get this dang shawl done. All you projects look great, but it is a real tragedy that you lost that vest because the fit was perfect. I can see why you loved it.
Hi Mark, I recently came across your podcast and have enjoyed watching quite a few of them. Great variety of topics and locations. Two jumper patterns I have knitted for my SIL I can recommend are Rift in worsted and Leontis in fingering. Do you know them? Best wishes from Melbourne, Australia.
Lot's of wonderful makes! I'm wondering about the next to skin feel of woolstock. I am a bit sensitive but there are non-superwash yarns I tolerate just fine.
Im curious what do the inside of the stockings look like? I've bought in the past a knit stocking from a retail store and it was hard to put any presents inside without them getting caught in the yarn web inside lol :)
So the insides of those two stockings are just plain. However, I plan to add felt lining. I've seen people take two sheets of crafting felt and trace the stocking over them. Then they cut the felt, seam the edges together, then stuff that inside the knit stocking as a sturdy liner.
I am amazed at the way you got the colour stripes in the Lighthouse Keeper to match up so perfectly. Stunning knitting technique!
Dude, the color of the Cosmo Sweater is YOU! ❤️

The floats on your Maja Cardi made my virgo heart so happy!
Andrea Mowry now has a crewneck version of her Weekender sweater that uses a dk weight yarn. I like it very much.
You are a real knit-artist 🙂👏!
Amazing collection. Bravo! I'm so envious. My favourite is the Field Sweater . gorgeous

That's very kind of you to say! Thank you for watching :)

I love that idea. I hope I'll be able to pass these pieces on one day :)
Your work is beautiful, thanks for sharing!

Thank you! I'll eventually block the red vest and wear it for future videos, I'm sure!
Love your channel!!! So glad I found you! Yay!!!

Been commenting on your other videos tonight... YAY, I found you talking about the Field Sweater! So cool. I've found my "project." Thank you.
Oh wonderful! I have a video tutorial on the stitch used in the field sweater - in case you haven't already found that video! Thanks for being here 😊
@@MakerMarkKnits Yes, I found it. It's very clear and I believe I'll be able to do it. Thanks!

Wow, thank you! That kitten is Scout. He's grown into being the sweetest little cat.
@@MakerMarkKnits is scout named after Dorothy's pet stick from golden girls? ☺️💜
That's hilarious. No, he's named after the DK weight yarn, Scout, from Kelbourne Woolens. But I like your suggestion better :)

Thank you so much! Great idea- I'll plan to do a video on that!
I can tell it from the look in their eyes - Kitty knows where the vest has gone...
What a lot of sweaters! Beautiful, you knit very regularly. So much fun to wear for the years to come 😉
Thank you for watching!
How many cats do you have?? The littel one is so cute😂, and the red one Looks like my „Boy“ … just the best cat ever❤
Aw, ginger cats are so special! We have 4 cats in total. One of them hasn't made her debut on the channel!
These are amazing!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!

Thank you for watching! A goal of mine is to keep better notes!
I love the Field sweater. I’m looking forward to seeing your 2024 makes. Have fun! 🧶
Thank you SO much :)

Good idea about the deeper V. I might try that if I find a future v-neck project! Thank you so much for watching!

Yes! You should absolutely do a weekender out of your Siri. I would never call you a copycat! :)
Your knitting is just wonderful!
Wow, thank you!
I absolutely love the Rios Siri! I’m going to go buy some. It’s absolutely beautiful!!
Yes, go for it! I love the balance of the colors.
Your Field Sweater is exquisite!
Beautiful work! I feel heart sick with you over the lost vest. I hope you share with us your remake when it happens.
Thank you! Once I get around to remaking it, I will definitely share :)

Another great video. What did you use/how did you do the pompom on the last two hats?

Oh my. I lost a cowl made with Clinton Hill Cashmere. Is there a hand knit thief amongst us. 🤣🤣🤣
I'm glad we can commiserate together!
