    Hi mate. I have a Ps5 and I’m looking to get this wheel. What wheelbase and pedals should I get that are cheap but good?

    • @dannymoffatsimracer
      @dannymoffatsimracer  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi bud, the cheapest base that’s reasonably good is the T300, if you get the RS version it should come with pedals that’ll get you up and running. If you want pedals that are better the T-LCM’s have a load cell and are great for the price

    Fantastic video mate, really like the screen but how does it feel as a stand alone wheel to drive with, i already have the open wheel and the original F1 rim,is it a big improvement on them,i am so close to ordering one of these but £350 is an awful lot of money to me I'm torn between saving harder for the T818 or getting this for my TSXW,maybe wait 12 months to see if the T818 has any teething problems not sure what to do.

    • @dannymoffatsimracer
      @dannymoffatsimracer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks mate, it is an amazing wheel. If you need a lot of buttons and rotaries for something like ACC or iracing is where all of its features become essential. The F1 games are probably really good with it too.

    After a week since I bought this wheel, I've encountered a screen freeze (which is a common issue with this wheel) only once, though it's running on an older firmware update. After I updated the firmware, the screen freeze is gone.
    This wheel feels so great that I use this more that the stock Gran Turismo wheel on my T-GT II as I lean more towards GT cars, though it still feels good using this wheel on road cars. Sure, the screen would be useless when I play GT7 with PSVR2 as I can't see the display anyway, but there are times that I don't use my PSVR2 and instead use a flatscreen monitor so the wheel's display still helps. The knobs at the front feel great, as well as the rotary dials on the side. I never misadjust or turn the dial too much, especially when I'm in VR. So whenever I set the fuel map or TCS, I get the settings right every single time.
    About the paddle shifters, I prefer the stock magnetic shifters over the T-Chrono paddle add-on. Sure, it's a bit loud but it doesn't bother me. Rather, I like the audible thunk and the stiffness of the paddles, that it has a mechanical feel to it rather than pressing a button. So yeah, I'm keeping the stock paddles, and I saved a lot of money in the process (T-Chrono paddle add-on is expensive to me for a shifter replacement).

      I noticed about the packaging of the SF1000 wheel you had, it's bigger and the paddle shifter isn't pre-installed (placed separately below the wheel). Mine was smaller and the the shifter is already installed when I unboxed it.
      Was it a regional thing? Or maybe they already changed the packaging?

      Great write up mate, I agree with everything you said. The packaging I think was changed recently to save on packaging materials I’m assuming.

  • @Jamic9
    @Jamic9 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've had this rim on my Thrustmaster GT rig for about a year now. It's great but as you said, the stock shifters are way too loud. Can I ask why you still have the in game wheel displayed? I usually get the correct fov, then get a one to one size match between the real wheel and virtual wheel, then remove the in game wheel. Lately I've been mainly racing in vr so this doesn't apply.

    Mate that wheel has magnetic shifters if you have a look the magnets are in-between the top and bottom of the crono paddles😳🤔😅

    • @dannymoffatsimracer
      @dannymoffatsimracer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The stock paddles are magnetic, the T-chrono shifters are micro switches. When I’m using the wheel in the video I’m not using the magnetic shifters 😂

    • @AbsoluteRandomnessYT
      @AbsoluteRandomnessYT 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@dannymoffatsimracer There are people who wanted a much snappier & aggressive kind of positive feel on the shifters. Placing magnets on the metal paddle shifter provides resistance every time you press it. That's why you see magnetic shifter mods made from 3D printed material for wheels without it, while there are other wheels that has it (either built-in/permanent or add-on). The downside is that it's stiffer to press the paddle shifters, and it's freaking loud.
      And there are people who wanted a quieter paddle shifter, yet still has a positive feel on it anyway. But others complain they often get mis shifts due to not being snappy enough or lacking resistance, which may be a downside to them. So they tend to lean towards magnetic shifter mods.
      That's why the T-Chrono paddle add-on exists. Some just wanted a quieter yet positive enough feel to the paddle shifters. Otherwise, the stock paddle shifters on the SF1000 wheel is enough if some prefer snappier & more aggressive kind of positive feel to it.
      The thing is, I don't really had a problem with the paddle shifters on my TGT II wheel, as does have enough positive feel for me despite not having magnets on it. But my friend who had a T300-RS GT wheel, he had problems with mis shifts, and so he wanted to buy a magnetic shifter mod.
      In the end, everyone has their own preference.
