He's not lying about how easy it is. Watched this video 3 times back to back so I could memorize what to do. Literally took 8 minutes to replace the part.

Thanks very much for this easy guide! Mine had began do the same. Ford Dealer wanted 450.00 for a job that took me fifteen minutes and cost less than 35.00 for the part! I appreciate you!

Brother CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR POSTING THIS! I just finished mine today took about 1 hour pretty easy, there were a few differences! But never the less I couldn't have done this without your video! My f150 is a 2013 SXT standard cab pretty basic. What I forgot to do was turn the steering wheel so the 2 screws that hold the unit, let's just say struggle bus. Just took alittle extra time, if I would have turned the steering wheel this would have been a cake walk! AGAIN THANK YOU SO MUCH! I'd by you a beer but I'm in Michigan!💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

Good information. The part was under $30 and it took 10 minutes start to finish!
For quick reference, the part is held by torque (star) screws, T-10 to be exact.

Great vid and this did fix the problem. 15 minute install on my 2012 Ford F-150 Platinum. You don't need to take that cover off the pedal adjuster either. I was able to find that 5.5mm socket at Home Depot it was like $2.50 and is 1/4" drive.

Great video, thank you. Just a couple suggestions. When prying on plastic panels, I always use a plastic prying tool - you can get a set for about $12 at any parts store, and you'll be surprised how often they come in handy, with much less risk of scratching and scarring your interior. You mentioned a 5.5mm socket - 7/32" is the same size and probably a little more common than 5.5mm. And releasing the tabs on the back of the switch - it looks like either a much smaller screwdriver or a small right-angle pick would be better there, but using your key was ridiculously effective. Well done. 😎

Thanks @Great Dane ! Google Fu and your little video helped me immensely. Fixed this little ghost in the machine in quick time. Only setback when I got to start was NO 5.5MM socket or a closest SAE equivalent at 7/32 to remove the steering wheel shroud. Most combo ratchet sets or at least the ones I own go down to 8mm /3/16 SAE(Damn you Ford somehow I know this was part of your evil plan.) Quick run to Advance and a cheap 20$ SAE/Metric set with... lo and behold... metric sockets down to 4mm with the needed 5.5MM. Woo hoo ! That an a DL7540 Multi function Switch from NAPA for my 2013 STX and all is good. Time for a beer !

Good vid. Note - there are two variations of the multifunction switch. NAPA model DL7563 is the model that has the Auto Rain Sense feature. The version WITHOUT Rain Sense is NAPA model DL7540. For some reason, the DL7540 (without rain sense feature) is pricing out about $10 more than the DL7563.

    • @virusthewolf

Just a quick tip. Turn on the fog lights and that will give you an indication on whether or not the wipers are on. If the light is illuminated they are on(headlights turn on with wipers being switched on)
That way you dont have to wait to see if they turned off as the light turns off pretty quick

Great video for replacing the arm however I ended up with another problem… the signals and wipers are working but now when I push the button at the end (for washer fluid) my high beams turn on and there isn’t any washer fluid spray. I checked the fuses and they are fine; no noise coming from washer fluid pump motor so that may need to be replaced but that won’t fix the high beam issue. Suggestions?

I found some blogs where other people's had the problem but I will send the part back and try again I'm not the first though on other instructional videos there's usually one or two guys that say it didn't work I saw where someone said it was the motor but that doesn't make sense cuz otherwise it wouldn't run at all I guess I don't know anyway thanks I did check my relay and fuses everything is in order and all the functions on the part I bought seem to work just not the off on the intermittent wiper

Has anyone tried deoxit on the circuit board of one of these to see if it fixes it

Below video shows how you can fix it without replacing the part.

Instead of waiting that 10-15 seconds. Cycle the key to battery-off.
I need to do this to my 14, thanks for the video

@@Davidblaine18 in the video he turned the wipers on then off and said ok now we wait.
So if it was still bad, all he'd have to do is flip it up once, flip it back off than, turn the key off, than back on. If the wipers didn't wipe, switch is fixed.
I do it all the time to mine. It seems that around the 3-4th time I do that in a 5 second time frame, it stops wiping.
