Seeing ram dao here makes me feel proud. its a weapon vastly used by bengalis of India and Bangladesh . Even in my ancestral home in a village in Bangladesh we keep weapons like ram dao, teta , bollom to protect households.

The actual name of this weapon in Khadga. It’s a Sanskrit word. This is very common in India. Specially in Bengal, Assam and Tripura. This is generally larger than what you guys have showed here. Thanks for making it.
Uhm I would never want to correct you my friend nor to start a quarrel, but the Khanda or Khaḍga is a completely different sword from the Rāmdāo. Not only is a straight double edged sword without a point, it also have a rounded pommel and a long curved tang, but the most important thing is that it's dedicated to Shiva, not Kālī. So we are talking of very different weapons I'm sorry. :)

One more thing Khadga is still being used in every part of three Indian States during Animal sacrifice ceremonies in almost Every Kali Temple. Correct your facts, at least read Kali Dhyanam to know what weapon she holds, or come to West Bengal, India, to see how we are still making Khadga traditionally.

@@Dylan-ug6jp hello buddy, just to let clarify which you guys were discussing. The weapon used in this is 'KHARGA' also known as Ram Dao. KHARGA being actual name. And it was used by gurkhas and bengalis not rajputs (unlike what is mentioned in the video). Khanda is a straight sword used by rajputs. Though some rajputs started calling it Khadga thats why the confusion is there. but originally kharga was ram dao.
That's not a blah blah.. its Indian mythology... The action, morals, and storyline of maa kali are far better than that of berserk... Or any anime released nowadays

I have one in home, and it's way bigger than 23 inches, the eye on the blade gave me nightmares as a kid. I think the one in my house if sharpened can hack a man in two, now it's a bit rusty. My grandma told me not to touch it and if touched not to keep it back without killing anything. It freaked me out as a kid. The blade has many names, Ram dao is usually it's official name but colloquialy we call it "Maa Kali'r Kharra".

Figured out a pattern here. whenever the clip has the Judges specifically mention the parameters, you know someone is getting disqualified due to an oversight.
We knew the test would be cut short when they gave so much extra time at the beginning of the video. They explained the sword, they showed him in the house eating a meal... it was clear one of them would be eliminated early.

Ram dao better known as Ramda is very famous in West Bengal ,it is mainly use for killing buffalo or goat as worship of goddess Kaali mata or Devi Chamunda.
Actually a typical 'Ram - Dao' Sword that was used in Ancient Indian Wars was much larger, only warriors over 6'2'' used it. The blade is measured to be around 48 cm wide and 134 cm with 2 handles, 1 at the base of the blade while one joined behind the middle of the blade. Usage : Warriors would run dragging the heavy from the over handle towards the foe and then suddenly stop just before the foe and as the blade reached forward due to momentum they would grab the middle handle with the other hand and continuously swinging the sword and thus using it momentum to fight .
Fun fact : Doug actually says “KEAL” cause he knew that kids would be watching this show so he formed an abbreviation that is : KEAL -> Keep everyone alive , and he said this to signify that the main purpose of these weapons are for self defence

It's a Human Sacrificial Sword of ancient India, mainly used in bengal (India), called as Raam Dao a.k.a Khanra sword. Its heavy and really deadly.
