I own both and I have to say that the 57 is a more refined piece with an upscale movement and that’s what justifies the price difference. You forgot to mention that the 57 is a column wheel, vertical clutch chronograph, which for movement geeks like myself is an important factor. Though the Lemania heritage of the 3861 is also very impressive and it does have one of the best cam actuations on the market.
My old 1861. Any day... honestly. I prefer it to the new version too - charcoal dial, more hash marks on the edges of dial, and slightly less sharp case...I miss that watch
I love the Speedmaster 57, two subdial chrono are ❤, the integrated hour/minute subdial is really useful. But it would be so much better if they ditched the date window
According to Omega you can move around vigorously at 50 m with these watches (part of Metas certification). Does anyone really need more than that? I have yet to meet that person (ok, I don´t know any oil rig divers!)
No probably not, no one needs more. But the perception is that watches with 30-50m water resistance aren’t actually going to hold up to swimming even. I’m not an expert on WR ratings but the general rule of thumb has always been don’t take a watch in the water unless it’s at least 100m.
I own both of these watches. I always find the measurements very deceiving. In terms of wearability, the Moonwatch feels much smaller and daintier on the wrist thanks to its superb 5-link bracelet. The relatively shorter lug-to-lug and the Lyre lugs style also play to the Moonwatch favour. In contrast, despite the suggested smaller size, the chunky straight, fully polished lugs of the 57 make it look much beefier. I have 7-inch and oval wrist. I can never find the perfect fit on the 57 flat link bracelet either. The best straight lug + flat link bracelet proportions in the Speedmaster lineup is the Ed White 321 Calibre. For me, the Ed White 321 is the creme on crop Speedmaster. 😊
All images watches that come in a bracelet suck. The need to step it up and put a Tfit on them. Micro brands have it. I bought a Pagani speedy because I can’t see myself paying $6000 plus for a watch that can’t even listen to their customers. I the mean time a Pagani will do……

If Omega did the Red dial in the moonwatch it would sell really well ....Great review of iconic legends....

Yeah I kinda miss mine too from time to time.
@JustBlueFish maybe I need to make it my grail... but for now very happy with G10 CWC from 1990 , 36mm, 10mm thick, quartz, hesalite.. what a watch
Nice one, guy, and dig the flannel (and all the sweet decks, of course). I’d go Moonwatch but love both.
That red dial is sweet! I like that 57 a lot! Have a great weekend!
Thanks, you too!
Good video. Exquisite Timepieces is great! Have purchased and/or traded watches with them a few times. Excellent customer service.
They’re the best!
Love the metal music intro! And that red dial had my eye since it came out.
I have the 57 in blue. Fantastic watch. Also have a sapphire sandwich.
It’s great seeing models that aren’t commonly known.
Thanks for watching Dale!
I have the pro, sapphire sandwich. I love the broad arrow on the 57 though.

Speedy pro all day, every day! Great video buddy!
Good to hear from you, thanks for watching.
two great watches, but choosing between the speedmaster 57 and the professional, i‘d go for the 321 ed white all day long…
Psycho Vision - Tony Hawk - O'Brian - Natas Kaunas : classics👍
Absolutely 57 for me. Cheers.
Good choice!
The Quartz one is the only one worth getting.
The one that actually goes into space regularly in the 21st century.

1984 or 1894? Cheers.
I own both of these watches.

At 6:35, you can see my point.
The shiny steel bezel and the polish lugs make the 57 a much beefier watch than the Professional.
Potessi permettermelo li prenderei entrambi ❤❤❤❤ li adoro ❤❤
Nothing can beat thr white on black hands.......
