The main reason I'm looking for a device like this is for the front and rear cameras in case of an accident. All the additional features are an awesome bonus. So if it works well, I'd definitely want one on each bike.
Of all the reviews about this product you are the first to mention that it was crowd funded. Solid review though keep up the good work
thanks for watching.!
The device itself (no extra components, just this and it's cameras) is still 343 euros without import taxes.
Which translates to roughly to 620 NZD. I don't think there is any way to triple that number with any of the extras.
The sentry mode is a life saver when you live in the city and park with cars. I tried over 5 times that a car backed into my motorcycle, and drove away. But because I had a camera with sentry mode, I could make an insurance claim everytime.
Great review.
Im in Australia, from what i can work you have your pricing wrong. $998 for the unit and $157 NZ dollars for the tyre monitors.
The website defaults to your locations currency, i thought.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
yes you are right. I stuffed up - th-cam.com/video/L1gr6jl50XA/w-d-xo.html
Car Play is Apple specific, the unit is also Android Auto capable, something not mentioned in this review .
You're right. not mentioned in this review, but talked about at length in my previous video on this device.
@@MotoNZBut you did not test it with Android Auto? Otherwise you would have mentioned dat Chigee does not support Voice Control yet in Android Auto while using a Bluetooth headset😉 (Chigee says they are working on it though)
As all reviewers you did not test the Chigee with Android Auto? Otherwise you would have mentioned Chigee does not support Voice Control yet in Android Auto while using a Bluetooth headset😉
(Chigee says they are working on it though)
Any review has to be done through the lens of the reviewer… I don’t use Android… so don’t particularly care about it… but thanks for watching.
Does the touch screen mess up when its raining ? Alot of phones this rain drops i touch and press loads of random things
Yes it can, but you can lock the screen (and unlock it with a slider and your glove on)
I received mine today. I've fitted it to my V-Strom 1050XT. Nice bit of gear. Except that I have one grievance - I cannot get the touchscreen to respond when I'm wearing gloves. I've tried my summer gloves, my Alpinestars and DriRider winter gloves, none of which work with the unit.
Is there a trick to getting the AIO to work with gloves?
Thanks for the review, by the way.
Only other disappointment is that they didn't send out the TPMS kit despite me ordering it. I'm chasing that up with Chigee.
That’s strange. Do any of your gloves have a touch panel on the index finger?
@@MotoNZ Not that I've noticed. I'll have to check again. Having said that the gloves are fairly old but they work fine with my Garmin Zumo XT, though...
I needed a nav on my bike. The chigee aoi-5 play (version without cam stuff) was way cheaper and does a better job. Worth it.
the nav mirroring from your phone is awesome cuz you always have the latest maps..the blind spot monitoring is really nice.. putting up calls and messages is a great thing as well.. but there some things that your phone nav cannot do that a dedicated moto nav system can, like hitting a button to choose the curviest road ..for older bikes that have no technology, this a godsend for sure.. but this really has me thinking, it does all the above and all im giving up is 1 curvy road option, the big one for me is blind spot, this cannot easily replace the dedicated nav but i would have a hard time having a dedicated nav plus this 5 inch screen in front of me, plus the bikes 7 inch screen.. total of three, just too much, but this gives you tons for the money. it definitely has its place and i hope it's here to stay , the cost is about the same as a nav, im gonna have a hard time making this decision
If you use REVER you can choose the best riding road… that ticks all your boxes…
Oh noz....i yried rever ...paid and its really buggy ..i gave up..if they got it fixed it would awesome @@MotoNZ
Not True. Download Rever, Calimoto or a host of other apps. They all do that. They also will download map for offline use. This thing is a Garmin Zumo XT killer.
That is about $700.00 US? A little pricey but not unreachable if you save your penny. They should offer it without the cameras.
I am waiting for one. I have the old pre-TTF BMW R1200GS and I consider it definitely an improvement.
Next version (and they probably already know it, thus the "lite" in the name) will probably include a SIM slot and be more of a security device than this one.
Maybe an extra cam to point to rider side (and actually you can point the front one to you anyway haha).
Now they even have a wireless CANBus gizmo that allow use of the BMW control wheel off the handlebar
Hi
Great video and can I ask what bracket did you have to use to mount it on the top bar above the main dash ?
Thanks
Jason
Hi thanks for watching.
I used this mount - th-cam.com/video/L1gr6jl50XA/w-d-xo.html
Hi greeting from Indonesia, nice honest review, thanks for the video. I'm a bit currious about the bluetooth remote, is it able to control all the interface of AIO-5, including open a message? And is it compatible for any phone Android basic?
Thank you
Hi there. No I don’t think it can open a message. It’s more for scrolling from CarPlay to the other function screens of the device.
@@MotoNZ got it, really appreciate for your feedback.
I am finding alot of wind noise on mine. Did you find that with yours?
I was looking to get this in India and it's expensive. There is another version from a different manufacturer which doesn't have the camera and that is less than half the price. I think this is expensive because of camera and other features. Having a dedicated dash cam like innov will be expensive so this device kind off makes sense.
As more of these types of devices get manufactured, there will be competition which will lower retail costs.
Honest with +/- 👍
How many Quadlock mounts are on that bike? 😂
2, one for my phone and one for my drone controller.
Yowzer I paid 796 NZD for mine shipped to Ireland.
Yeah thats about right. i did a correction video not long after this one came out.
Is the speed off? I saw a 10 kmph difference.
Speedo in the Tenere reads 10% slow.
GPS is more accurate, but changes slowly. only updates onces every 1-2 sec.
Also, Chigee has it's own GPS receiver.
You spend a lot of time complaining about the price when the actual price RRP on their website is USD600 but still discounted lower
As explained, when researching for this video, it was not obvious what currency the price was in.
At current exchange rates, USD$600 works out to about NZD$1100
Hence the point in the video. I’ve since made a correction video upon finding correct pricing.
There’s a bigger discount than 15%
One big disadvantage, you cannot take it of the bike easy with all the connections. Has to stay on😢
You are correct, but my question to you is… why take it off the bike?
@@MotoNZ a) because I have several motorcycles and I rotate them depending on my mood and possible touring route b) because I will eventually sell the motorcycle and I would like to keep the hardware?
Ok fair call. In the case you sell the bike it’s not hard to uninstall, but swapping between bikes is a bit more difficult.
Great review thanks 😊
The main problem with car play/ android auto is when using a navigation app it drains the battery on your phone and hence makes your phone warm up. So you have to plug your phone in to a charger which means taking it out of your pocket 🤨
Isn't that the case with you using the phone to do maps. Moreover with Android auto or apple play, it doesn't use it that much as it would when the screen is turned on and you are using the phone.
@Dude_Virus no, it still drains the phone battery even without the phone screen on. I use android auto in my car all the time and if I'm going long distance using maps app, I have to plug my phone in to the car usb or the phone battery drains pretty quickly.
Think about solutions instead of problems. Just place your phone in a tankbag (or holder) and connect it to a USB charger (or powerbank) and you can navigatie all day long👍
@@Rammit_Inha_Assol that's what I have been doing for the last 10 years 👍🏻
You can get something similar for under 250, aoocci c5 pro
So you are just cheap
Huh?
